Hi, I am trying to use a Navman SmartBox 3 with MiVUE830DC. SmartBox doesn't work in the parking mode, it turns off as soon as the car is turned off irrespective of the settings on the SmartBox. Green LED on the SmartBox also turns off and camera get shutdown immediately. Battery voltage is good (12.7V) and wiring is correct. Black wire is connected to the body, red wire to the ACC powered fuse and yellow is connected to direct battery power. Parking mode also enabled on the camera. While car is parked and turned off, if I disconnect the yellow wire from the battery and reconnect, green LED on SmartBox turns on for a second and turns off. It seems the box is not recognising the battery voltage. With the help of the retailer, I tried 3 different SmartBox 3 units and all have the same issue. Also tried with multiple batteries but no resolution. Need help !! I have a SmartBox 2 installed in my other car and it works fine for past few years. Can't get SmartBox 3 to work.

There are two separate cameras. One fitted to front windscreen and the other fitted to the rear windscreen.

Hi Lori, Thanks for reaching out to us! The MiVue 850 Dual Camera comes with a separate main unit (front) and a rear camera. The rear camera is connected wired to the front camera for you to see what is being recorded behind you. There is a switch icon on the main unit for you to have a bigger view of the rear camera or vice versa.

I have the MiVue 850 dual cam in my Mazda 3 SP25, hard wired in, I think by Mazda (I bought the car 2nd hand), is it possible to have the rear camera on full screen to assist when parking as a reversing camera?

Hi Peter, Thanks for posting your query. Once you connect the rear camera and start recording, the screen displays the picture-in-picture (PIP) mode. You can switch the front and rear camera images by pressing the button for the camera with switch arrows (usually at the bottom).

My navman parking mode does not work when car has been off for an hour or so. I thought the whole point of parking mode was for the parking mode to turn on when an event was triggered? my car was side swipped during the night and parking mode did not activate despite being on the highest settings. My dash cam is hard wired in.

Hi Paul, Sorry to know about that. The first thing I would suggest is to perform a hard reset on the device by poking the shutdown button beside the USB port (on the top of the device) to shut down the device. Leave the device off for 5 seconds then press and hold the Power button to turn it on.

I’m trying to install a smart box for my NAVMAN MIVUE1100 SENSOR XL DC. I’ve located the correct fuses for the red and yellow wires using a multimeter, connected the ground wire and nothing happens, whether the ignition is on or off. I’ve tested the wires with a multimeter all the way up until just before they go into the smart box main unit, and they read 12.4 volts across the red and black, and yellow and black (ignition on), but still nothing, no indicator light on the smart box either. Have I got a faulty unit?

Hi Caz, Thanks for posting your query. We are sorry to hear that you are having a problem with your dash cam. Not to worry, we are here to help. In most cases, the memory card is at fault. Please format your memory card by going to Menu > Format. Please also try another memory card for further isolation.

If the problem persists, may we know if your device does not have any recordings on the SD card by checking the file playback on the device/Mivue Manager, but you may access them on your mobile phone via MiVue Pro app?

Hi, My Navman MyVue dashcam dual camera was a great unit. However it now asks me to "Format the SD Card" which I have done successfully. Re-inserting the card (64GB) into the Camera brings up the same message. I thought it might be the card was at fault, so I tried two other cards (a 128GB and a 16GB) and got the same result. I think the Navman must be the problem. Can you help please?

Hi Graeme, Thank you for posting your query. The error is a fault with the SD card. To resolve this, we have to make sure that the SD card used is compatible with the device. For the list of recommended SD cards, please refer to the link below: external link  You may also need to update the firmware of the device. The latest firmware update can be found on the link below: external link  The latest firmware version is VBR72.57.B292.BA1WD.01 which you can check by going to Menu>Settings>Version.

I have a Navman 850 and basically since day 1, the hardwired parkmode lasts for about 2minutes (if that) and turns off. It is definatey not the car battery because this was installed on a brand new 2018 car but please explain why it does not stay on or what settings need to be readjusted on the dash cam itself and the parkmode box. Hi Shreyas, Thank you for your question. If connected to a Smartbox, all NAVMAN dash cameras will continue to record like normal when the car is turned off. However, since your device comes with a parking mode feature; this enables the device to enter a hibernation state (constantly recording a short buffer to the internal memory but not to the SD card) and will only save to the SD card once motion in the field of view is detected and/or the G sensor is activated, thus using less power and memory card storage.

It is also possible that your device only goes to LCD standby when in parking mode. To check this, kindly go to Menu > System > LCD Standby > Select Always On, 10 Seconds, 1 minute or 3 minutes or HUD.

Hi, Just bought mivue850 few days ago, front cam works all good but rear one cannot be detected. I connected all according to instructions provided, upgraded firmware to the latest version but didn't help. I found "Y"cable to be too rough for the connection port on the camera and I have to move it a bit forward and backward in order to connect.

Yeah having same problem, think it's the connection y cable to the cam. Have given up on it using as front cam only. Also the ball mount isn't tight enough put a drop of superglue on it. Also speed camera warns of cam near my home and none there. cannot turn this off. Very disappointed with Navman think will bin it and buy another brand.

I was thinking the same, to return this one and buy a decent brand, but then I realized I didn't find any middle range cam with good customer review. Whatever I looked at, someone put a comment like 'rubbish' or 'don't buy, waste of money'. I understand that people are more inclined to write comment when the product is not working and they are frustrated but that makes it harder to get the correct idea. If anyone can suggest any decent dash cam between $200 - $300 that "just works" I would really appreciate it.

Hi V..ery W..orried, We're sorry if your device has lost its sound. Let me do my best to help. Can you first confirm if there's no sound at all on the device itself when playing back the video? Is there no sound as well when viewing the videos on a computer?

If your device is still making sound when viewing the recorded files but doesn’t have system sound for audible warnings, kindly go to system settings and then check the following:

SafetyCam > Alert Sound > must be set to 'Voice'.

Driving Safety > must also be set to 'Voice' or 'On'.

Navman MIVUE850 I can connect the front facing camera fine but when I put the second camera in with the double connection the unit won't load and keeps restarting Any help or should I just give up and return? Not a great start.

Hi,

I am trying to watch my dash cam footage on my computer but all the videos have no sound and I am unable to see the kilometres recorded at the time of driving. I can't figure how to get the sound to work on the videos outside of the dash cam itself. The dash came has the current kilometres on the screen while driving - is there a way for that to show on the recording too?
