NEC RSC2637

NEC - Not on my list – The most unreliable Air-conditioner I have ever had installed - The first year the compressor start capacitor failed and had to be replaced - Later that year the Aircon failed all together and it would not run at all and it took 12mths of visits under warranty and repeated messages and demands and replaced parts before the indoor unit was replaced to fix it. This year the replacement start capacitor failed and no air conditioning again. The warranty service was poor and unresponsive so I would not buy or recommend a NEC product ever again

Terrible – All in all very poor quality gear, absolutely pathetic after sales service and expensive repairs.... I will not be buying another NEC product in my lifetime. it worked alright for the first year and a half... The aircon was rarely ever used and after 1.5 yrs it stopped working and it has taken 12 months of chasing paperwork and constantly ringing AWA (who does the warranty work for NEC) until finally we got someone out to look at it, only to be told that something has corroded and that it is not covered under warranty.

To top it off we were told that to replace the corroded bit would cost $600 in parts and labour (the cost of the original install -parts and labour- was $1200!)
