How this machine got past quality assurance is beyond me. Build quality is awful. The mechanism to close the machine is clunky and difficult. We miss our old VertuoPlus machine, they were much better in the past. Show details

Had my machine for several weeks, not as good as my old machine, doesn't get hot enough even when using a hot (milk) pod, disappointing. Show details

Follow-up  · Have resorted to a stronger coffee for the flavour but have to microwave to get a hot brew.

Follow-up  · Have swapped to a stronger coffee to overcome one problem but have to use the microwave to get it hot enough. Not ideal.

Extremely disappointed with the service. After being a loyal customer for years, the level of support we received when our machine started failing was unacceptable. We were told it would take 2–3 weeks just to return the machine—completely… Read more

impractical and shows no consideration for long-term customers. The customer service experience was just as frustrating, with staff passing responsibility between each other rather than actually resolving the issue.

There was no urgency, no accountability, and no real effort to retain a loyal customer. Sadly, this experience has completely changed our view of the brand.

I contacted the CEO Stefan Vermeulen - he also made no effort to reach out

Would not recommend.

Follow-up  · I was not getting anywhere with Nespresso customer service so I dropped the faulty machine at a nespresso store. I then sent the CEO a message via Linkedin about my experience and how disappointed I was - He replied with an apology and referred my case to another team who replaced my machine

I don't recommend this machine to anyone. Two years old and leaks coffee-stained water all over bench. I have to place a couple of sponges under it each time I make a coffee. Capsule holder cup has several cracks around lip perimeter because its made from paper thin plastic. The milk frother is poorly designed in that it builds up too much… Read more

pressure inside the vessel when the milk is heated, resulting in the milk spilling all down the sides of the container, even when only half full. The solution is to drill a small hole in the lid near the perimeter and place it strategically to let the hot air/steam out. Why couldn't the designers have thought of that? Altogether, this machine looks and feels like it was made in a hurry with little testing having been done for durability.

Machine broke 4 times. The last time they refused to replace (out of warranty). Vertuo system seems to be a gimmick to preserve their monopoly on pods. Comes with compromises. Coffee has to be burnt and over extracted to work. No acidity, fruitiness or nuttiness. The "crema" is more like pond scum. Old system makes better coffee. Show details

We have just received our 3rd Nespresso Vertuo Next Coffee Machine as a (2nd!) replacement for a dud product. We purchased our first machine October 2023 so the average isn't even 1 year of trouble free coffee! When the machine is operating it makes good coffee - not outrageously good - but good. We have learned that the warranty on the machine we… Read more

have received today actually runs out on the anniversary of the date we purchased - that being October 2025. Which means this "brand new" machine effectively has a 3 month warranty. Based on our history to date, I would suggest that when this one breaks down (which I have no doubt it will!), it will be the last time we ever have one of these machines. Disappointing overall as we quite like it - when it's good... Buyers beware!!

Do NOT buy. 1st machine died and replaced after just over a year. Second replacement machine has now died, 1.5 yrs old. Apparently, the warranty is for the ORIGINAL machine… Even though this was a new machine. How does that work? Show details

Why didn't I read the reviews? Replaced my aging but working Vertuo Plus (used it 4 years) with the Next model. Descaling light came on. But descaling process failed. An hour on line with technician who had me repeat process multiple times. Then asked me to do a firm wear update which failed because the phone wouldn't pair with the machine.… Read more

Now I have to box it and return for a replacement. I'm absolutely frustrated. They have to send me return label and once I give them a tracking number, only then will they start the process of replacing it. All by standard delivery because being without a machine is not worthy a courier. And, the used warranty period is not covered by the new machine. So replacement has a nine month warranty period - that's how confident they are of their machines. Would not recommend.

Do not buy. Cheap and nasty. Used less than 30 times over a few years and started to leak internally and stopped working. Show details

Buyer beware -DO NOT BUY A NESPRESSO COFFEE MACHINE – Original purchased the Virtuo next De'Longhi Machine. Great for a few years then in Dec 2024 it wouldn't work. Troubleshoot with Nespresso and then it started leaking coffee from underneath the unit. Spoke to Nespresso, they advised they don't have service centres to repair machines so virtually have to throw machines away after 3 years and buy… Read more

a new one Purchased a new one for my wife and this one is far inferior in regard to quality, so cheap, full of plastic. Came with a mark on the front of the unit and the noise is so loud when brewing the coffee, it sounds like a jet . Would not purchase a Nespresso coffee machine again.

Great coffee but frustrating shopping – Great coffee but getting coffee capsules is a slow and frustrating process. Inconvenient having to travel to a boutique shop or wait 5 days for delivery from on-line store. Wish I could nip down the street to a supermarket and top up there.

Great when it works, expensive when it doesn't work – You can only buy the pods from Nespresso and they are not cheap, i purchased 120 ($120) to begin with. I am onto my 2nd Delonghi Nespresso Vertuo Next machine. The first made 2 great cups of coffee and then died. No amount of resets or customer service help could coax it back to life so I put it in the bin. 6 months later in a moment of weakness… Read more

Costco had the same machine on special for $129 and I still had my pods from before to use so I purchased it.

I was wrapped, it made a great coffee and I purchased more pods ($450 over the year). I followed instructions, descaled after 300 pods, cleaned the machine etc and then one morning it just flashed an orange light twice and went into standby mode. Searched online for help and eventually called customer service. I had never registered my machine for warranty. The representative informed me that my machine was more than 2 years old (I had purchased it 11 months before) and out of warranty so they could not assist. It's the pod reader that's not working, i have eliminated everything else. The quoted cost to repair is $285. Thos one is going in the bin also except i still have $150 worth of pods to use.

These machines are extremely complex and temperamental, a quick search online and you will see people have numerous issues, most commonly the "air" bubble in the water line. Why these issues have not been eliminated in later models is a sign of pure corporate greed. DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE.

Too much froth means only half a cup of coffee – This replaced a previous vertuo that I had for years and started throwing warning lights. This model is far inferior, it’s very cheap plastic and the creamer means you have to stop the machine early to avoid overflow and you only get half a cup of coffee and half a cup of froth. It cannot be adjusted in settings and now after having been a Nespresso member, loyal to their pods for 16 years I now drink less coffee. Show details

Nice coffee but fragile, unreliable machine – The Vertuo Next Solo makes a great coffee although is somewhat ‘touchy’ when loaded. Pods are expensive and ONLY available from Nespresso. The machine is not made for regular, long term use. We’ve had 3 replaced machines now, all within warranty period, with the most recent one acquired in April and has failed already in July. Disappointingly,… Read more

their replacement process involves waiting 1 business day to receive return shipping label. The physically packing it up and taking it to the post office. Once it is sent, you have to call Nespresso to provide tracking number. Only then will they release your replacement machine.

Worst coffee machine and worst service ever – The machine only lasts 6 months. I had to get two of them replaced both only lasted 6 months. And don’t even try getting a refund, as with Nespresso they make you go to the post office, package it up and return it to their manufacturer. Do not bother buying this type of machine. Show details

"Over-the-top" creamer – I bought the Nespresso Vertuo Next from Costco on 10 Feb 2024. This is my second coffee machine. I was impressed with some of the capsules which has a strong robust coffee taste, that prompted me to the purchase of the coffee machine. Besides, it is quicker and convenient to make one on-the-go. Yesterday was mine 1st attempt to try out the… Read more

coffee machine. After 3 attempts, no water or coffee came out, I said to myself "oh no"! Fortunately, after the 4th attempts, Today (12 Feb 24), I have no problem making my 1st coffee in the morning:)

If you are a fan of "creamer" on top of your coffee, some of the coffee capsules might suits you. Although I personally love having a layer of creamer, having too much creamer is a challenge to get into the robust coffee taste :)

Frustratingly unreliable – I decided to try the Vertuo, despite all the reports of problems with the machine. A bad decision as the reports were right. It works when it wants to and other times you get the flashing red light and no coffee. Eject the unused capsule.. turn it off and on again and you “might” get a coffee. Nespresso.. you need to fix this device. And a better range of capsules would be helpful too as I haven’t found the one in your current range. Show details

Love the coffee it makes. Machine could use a few tweaks – To be fair, I bought this on special at Costco about a year ago, and only paid $119, so for the price I am extremely happy overall. Starting with the big positive, I am super happy with the cup of coffee I get from this machine. It's hot enough to enjoy but not so hot that you burn your tongue (pet hate), and the crema is pretty damn impressive.… Read more

It produces a consistent result whether I'm making a 150ml cup (long black in a cappuccino cup - my favourite), or a full mug or double espresso for visitors. The flavour is obviously determined by the capsule you choose and it's subjective of course, but I have my favourites. However, for my liking, I can't fault the output! It's fairly easy to use, and also to take apart to wash the components, and if you register with Nespresso via the app, it will tell you when it needs descaling or if there are any other issues with it, as you can connect it with the app via Bluetooth and get diagnostics on it. I also like the size of the water reservoir, it's pretty adequate for the price. The Delonghi name is nice to have, but the machine is all plastic. However, I was not expecting more at only $119. The only thing I wish was different is the discarded pod collection bin inside. It opens by pulling or tilting back, but as there are no walls on the sides of the drawer, all the pods fall out all over the bench and floor ... every single time! This drives me nuts. On a couple of occasions it has also had a hissy fit and flashed red, not allowing me to make a coffee. On those occasions the app could also not tell me what the issue was. I ended up unplugging the machine for 30 seconds and plugging it back in, which solved the issue. Thankfully it's only happened twice. Overall a good purchase which produces a pretty impressive cup of coffee.

Perfect coffee every time – I really love this coffee machine. I've tried several coffee pod machines and this is certainly the best so far. It suits me as you can choose the coffee sizes, and I like a big coffee in the mornings. It makes a good size, hot mug of coffee (230 ml). And a decent strength which I really like. And lots of different flavours and intensities to… Read more

choose from. Very easy to use. The only downside is that you can't buy the pods in supermarkets. You have to get them from Nespresso. But that in itself is a fun experience. At Chatswood you can sample coffees (free) prior to purchase. The pods are a bit more expensive, but you get more (and better) coffee, so I don't consider that to be a turn-off.

Not the best Nespresso machine by far – I had the Vertuo Plus which was a great machine and when it stopped working I decided to replace it with the Vertuo Plus as it was a little cheaper. I should not have, it is not as intuitive to use and it is so noisy! The pod bin is a two-piece affair rather than just a normal bin. I also could stop the Plus early if the cup was in danger of… Read more

overflowing, with the Next, I get a fault message by WiFi asking if I need help using the machine! Not a fan.
