Blatant Ripoff in Bulk Packets – Bought the multi smarties pack (tiny boxes) and over the course of 2 weeks, we had 2 x empty boxes and many that were half to a third full. Very poor compared to 20 years ago, do not buy – This product is not what it used to be; very little chocolate, ... all sugar. This was always a top quality product compared to USA candy/chocolate "bars". It is now, much worse. Why is the company killing its brand like this? Taste less – One thing I have noticed is the change in taste, almost like cheap chocolate. I grew up loving smarties, the flavour of the chocolate was nice, like a good Easter egg, but now, so disappointing that children grow up thinking that is how they should taste. Dreadful! – Take note of yours reviews. Your taste is absolute rubbish! You have clearly changed the mixture somehow. Bought a smarties egg that was $20! What a waste of money. Was thrown in the bin. Tasted dreadful and how outrageous to ask $20 for a medium sized egg that tastes so horrible. A zero star is more like it. Smarties used to taste amazing, now like everything else, the greedy companies charge ridiculous amounts and the quality is crap.

No more smarties – We always buy smarties for our children as we grew up with it. Until I recently tasted the smarties of today! Just awful! I wont be giving my children smarties again. Everywhere I go I ask adults to taste smarties before giving it to their children. All agree smarties is no longer as nice as it used to be.

Musty cardboard taste – Always loved smarties. Bought a pack yesterday . All I could taste was musty cardboard. I asked my husband to try them hoping it was just me. Unfortunately not. Rank and awful - smarties used to be so good and now sooooooo bad – Brought up in york and on smarties …just bought a bag and they are now vile! They are tasteless and cardboardy and the used to be so good - why would you make a brilliant product so much worse. Last pack we will ever buy !!!!

Smarties taste awful – Smarties used to be a delightful chocolate treat. This is no longer the case, the thick case is horrible compared to the sharp crunch and lighter texture of the old Smarties. The centre is overly sweet and doesn't taste like real chocolate anymore. I also miss the orange smartie that tasted of orange. What happened? – I used to love Smarties. Haven't tasted one for years until I bought some to decorate a children's birthday cake. What has happened? They are no longer plump and juicy. The small amount of chocolate in them tastes powdery, like the cheapest Easter eggs. The colours are dead and the shells lack crispness. Never again! Just another memory.

colours of smarties – There is something wrong with the smarties. What is it you say? It is the colours there are too many of one colour I think that there should be the exact same amount of the colours in every packet or box otherwise it is ot fair because some people don't like all the colours that have the most and that just ruins it. Bad – I dont really buy these often at all because I am not a big fan of the taste. The great point for these is ofcourse that they dont have any artificial colours or flavours, considering they are so colourful! The great thing about these is that they dont have any artificial colours or flavours, which is a big bonus. They dont taste as good as M & M's, and I think its because they arent as crunchy, crispy and chocolately as M & M's are.

OK – By far, I prefer M'n'Ms to Smarties. The taste of Smarties comes nowhere near to M'n'Ms. The colours are better though and that makes Smarties great for baking, as I stated. your kids to eat too much chocolate, you can give them just a few. I used these for potty training! I don't think the taste is that great and am often left feeling disappointed after eating Smarties.

Good – Finally, one more product kids can enjoy without mum having the guilts of articial colourings & having to read the packet over&over. Kids love them, especially the little funsize boxes as a treat & they are the perfect size to treat your kids and not have to deprive them the rest of a bigger packet. buttons on your gingerbread men. Must have in the cupboard! The fact they no longer use artifical colourings. Hooray! Nothing really stands out. Maybe as an adult heaps of better tasting alternatives, but smarties will always have their place.

chocolate inside was not the same quality that I remembered. It was almost too sugary and gritty. Maybe they still appeal to children, after all I guess that's the target audience anyway. For me, I was sadly disappointed. A fun pack of colourful chocolates that appeal to children. Come in a variety of box sizes. Not as good as they used to be.
