Having brought this caravan travelling throughout Australia this caravan had that many faults that luckily they were not completely serious that could of been disastrous & most of all they should of been absolutely prevented by the RV dealer in QLD if they would have some attention to detail , professionalism customer communication skills & most… Read more
of all accountability which was never ever given . The thing that was only ever done or given was false empty promises & guarantees that just added insult to a painful experience.
Good buy – The big red is overall a good buy would recommend
Toilet system – We love our caravan but very disappointed with the Dometic toilet system as more waste goes outside the cassette then in.so it's going to cost me over $1000.00 to change my system to a Thetford brand Show details
Outstanding quality – I have had recently purchased my Big Red 19 with the slide out and been on my first trip with no issues at all. I did own a Manta Ray 19 for 12 months and again no problems at all. Highly recommend- most of my friends have Jaycos and my Big Red quality greatly exceeds their vans. Show details
Number plate hight – 19es2 reat caravan. Pull over near Moore April 2017, number plate to high. New Age said it is our responsibility ? They fitted it in the factory ? After many phone calls and a visit to the factory only help they provided a replacement number plate holder, we had to fit, the fine cost us $450 and 3 demerit points. Not a Happy Camper. No points for New Age for responsibly of ilegial vehicle leaving the factory and customer service after. North Show details
Could not be happier with our Big Red – We researched for 18 months for a van to live in full time while touring the country we chose a BR19se2. Quality product, every thing was as ordered. Only one minor warranty issue, and we received great after sales service getting it attended to. March 21st 2018 Update: Living the experience. Living on the road permanently in a BigRed 19. … Read more
Quality sturdy construction and finish. Very comfortable to live in as we tour for the next few years. Tows easily on tarmac, dirt and corrugated roads.
We love our Big Red 19SE – We bought ours second hand, although only about 10 months old. We have camped for years and had vans "in the family" but never had one of our own. Had it now for 18 months and done 20,000km in it, mostly on sealed roads, and it has been fantastic. The vans are heavy, but obviously we did our homework and have a suitable vehicle to tow it. … Read more
I would never rely on the salesman to tell me my vehicle was suitable! It is semi-off road so never have any issues with height clearance. Love the modern, clean look inside and everything works as it should. Very comfortable. We have also have excellent responses to queries from New Age. Like one of the other reviewers, we purchased from SA just as the dealer was closing the caravan sales, but New Age have responded to every query we have had quickly and efficiently. Highly recommended.
New Age 'Promises' & After Sales service – We purchase a New Age BR19ES, after being guaranteed we could tow the fully loaded caravan behind our Pajero. We collected our caravan at the end of 2015. On our way home the caravan swayed violently with the slightest cross wind or with trucks passing or over taking us. The caravan was fitted with an under-slung coupling which made it… Read more
impossible to adjust the tow ball height on the car to get the caravan level.
At home we loaded the caravan with our usual gear and filled the water tanks then discovered we were 280kg on the towball, 100kg overweight for the car. We took gear out of the caravan and moved our belongings around, emptied the water tanks and took a gas bottle out to try and achieve our weights. We sought help from New Age, after months and months of emails and telephone calls and no sign of any sort of assistance we meet others who we discovered had the same problem. Further communications with New Age, they eventually arrange to meet with us.
New Age took the van into their factory, they raised the coupling, moved a water tank and battery boxes to behind the axles. They advised us they had achieved 140kgs on the tow ball with full water tanks. We collected the van loaded all our gear, everything indicated we were 185kg on the towball, with what we thought was full water tanks. The water gauge indicated tank 1 (front tank) full & and tank 2 (rear tank) 1/2 full we could not put any more water in to the 2nd tank, it appeared the gauge or sender maybe faulty.
After several trips, careful monitoring of our weights and more investigation we have discovered we appeared to have been ‘duped’, it appears the wires for the gauge were swapped around the front tank was not full when the tow ball was weighed. When the water gauges show full we are 30kg over weight on our tow ball. There are other items requiring attention including the fridge defrosting and dropping the water on the floor, there is no drain!!
Brand new Big Red with warranty issues – Second New Age Van in 3 years and love the model Big Red. Changeover was 17 to a 19 footer for bigger kitchen etc. With both vans, the dealership changed hands (SA) between the order and collection and this has caused problems for us. Our new caravan delivered to Adelaide 2 weeks ago was collected from the dealership that was ending their caravan… Read more
branch of their extensive car sales yard. This was a very stressful event as the company then folded (its caravan sales) and handed us on to the new dealership for any warranty issues. No-one remains to answer our phone calls or questions from this dealership...remainiing caravan staff have completely gone. On very very close inspection of our beautiful van once home, we discover that the frig door is not closing properly and the frig is crookedly set into the wall. The floor in front of it ( - the frig) is showing a number of gouges and scratches, which initially looked like scuff marks that would wipe off. However they are dented into the lino. We had collected it with damaged flooring. So far we are unable to get a satisfactory response from either dealer or the New Age company with all parties suggesting its not their problem. not happy. After sales service is questionable
Our New Age Dream 'Van Is A NIGHTMARE! – We picked up a preordered Big Reg 19' in July this year and it has been nothing but a disappointment. We towed it from the yard 10 minutes to the van park we were staying in by which time one of the water tanks was leaking. We contacted the dealer immediately but they couldn't send anyone around to sort it out. We were told to contact NRMA who… Read more
said as it wasn't urgent they wouldn't bother. I found a local plumber to look at it and he discovered the main hose attached to the tank spigot was 4mm larger in diameter than the spigot itself. New Age had 'remedied' this by wrapping 3 metres of white thread tape around the spigot. Not at all professional.
A day or two after we traveled the 400km home on nice sealed main roads, I saw battery acid foaming on the ground beneath the battery box. The box was full of metal filings which had pierced the battery.
We discovered the sound system was incorrectly wired so no matter what you did altering the balance or the fade you had one internal and one external speaker operating.
We noticed there were 3 dents in the front window shield, along with a crease. The dents were in a row, close together and clearly a manufacturing fault but we were told they don't replace window shield as they get dented by stones when towing.
The lid on one of the front tool boxes is banana shaped, only touching the box where the centre latch is attached and 10mm high on each corner.
What really 'burns our buns' is that despite all their spouting about after sales service and customer satisfaction, we've had none.
If we want the van that we've paid for, it's going to cost us more in days off work and petrol to take the van to the nearest dealer 100km and 1000 steep vertical metres away to have the work done unless we track down someone locally to help. As I type this only 2 of these problems has been addressed.
Had we known what a farce this whole thing was going to be we'd never had bought a New Age caravan and we suggest anyone considering purchasing one think twice.

In addition to the above, I just opened the front window hatch this morning and one of the stays fell off.
