Terrific Installation and Service – We had solar installed on our newly built home, including customer built switchboards and panels adjusted to minimise street view for aesthetic reasons. This team was great. Everything was done with care and professionalism. We’ve also really enjoyed the monitoring after installation to ensure it’s maximising generation! Show details

Would like to see it finalised – Purchased and registered toilet suite in September 2020 still waiting to have it installed now in April 2021 and have been informed that the allocated plumber has had his account closed.

Careless and Irresponsible Installation – They broke tiles when they put in the footing of the solar panels under the tiles. Didn’t bother to replace or tell us to provide replacement tiles or warn us. 6 tiles, maybe more caused leaking and eventually damaging the timber supports on our roof. If you do dodgy work, karma will get to you. Show details

Best solar company: people before profits – When our solar system stopped working after 11 years of fautless service, we were at a loss as to who to call given that it's out of warranty. Thinking it'll be a long shot as who'd bother with post-sales customer service after a decade, we called NuEnergy (who originally installed our solar PV system) to see if they could maybe help us out while… Read more

not expecting much.

It was to our great surprise that not only did they help us sort out the issues, but they've gone way over and above in terms of arranging everything during the COVID lock-down (which must have taken up heaps of their valuable time) and getting our system fixed without us having to do much.

These days, it's rare to find people who can give you genuine after-sales customer service (especially when it's out of warranty and there's no money in it for them). It's just goes to show the excellent people they are who put people before profits.

They took the time to explain everything clearly, gave us really good advice and we're so grateful for their honest opinions and helpful suggestions. I highly recommend them as your first point of call if you're thinking of going solar. You won't find a better company to deal with.

Huge savings to electricity Bills – The team at Nu Energy installed 15 panels with Enphase micro inverters in my Beaumaris home around a year ago. The system makes a massive difference to my energy bills. I was so happy with the install and the polite, helpful team who kept me updated on what they were doing and handled the whole process with profesionalism and consideration. I… Read more

would recommend Nu Energy & solar to anyone. Am so pleased with the quick and efficient installation. Excellent customer service and a delightful team of installers.

Great job Nu Energy! – We installed 21 x 330W panels with Enphase micro-inverters in our South Melbourne home earlier in the year (May). The system is making a massive difference to our electricity bills and would recommend Nu Energy (and solar) to anyone. Terrible customer service – I used Nu Energy to install panels in 2009. I need info on them as I am selling the property (its been rented over the years). I had my paperwork and a reference number. I called them, and was told that they are not in the office because of the COVID lockdowns. Person told me to go and have a look at it and then he can give me info. I said I am… Read more

not at the property and thought I could get the info with my reference number. He became agitated, saying Í just told you we have been in lockdown and don't have any info from 2009'. I apologised for my apparent annoying customer enquiry, and said even in lockdown I know that companies do have access to customer details. He was getting more agitated and so I just said don't worry about it. He then asked me to read out what my paperwork said, which I did, and then he was able to give me the answer I needed. He could have just said that at the start of the conversation without having to get so obviously angry at my enquiry. It left me feeling like I NEVER want to deal with that company again......

Worst item I have ever bought! – I had 6x250W panels for electricity and 2 for solar hot water and a solar hot water cylinder installed by this company in 2011. From the beginning it was a faulty system resulting in being 6 months without the inverter working, a faulty vave on the HWC which I had replaced almost annually with other work on the sensor panels. A pump was faulty… Read more

which resulted in hot water pouring out an overflow pipe, a frost release valve resulting in hot water pouring over the roof. Firstly this whole system was faulty and should never have been installed in my situation of being heavy frost prone and being on tank water with pumps. Instead of being in credit, my last power bill was for $500 and I just paid almost that to have the HWC disconnected from solar. Lo and behold, today after only a few days, it is pouring hot water from the overflow pipe. I've paid for repairs each year. The company moved into Tasmania, sold a lot of systems and went back to Adelaide where they were difficult to contact and to deal with. I thought I was dealing with a Tasmanian company as they had a Hobart office then. I had a small compensation from the company but had so many issues with the system that I couldn't find sequential power bills containing fault free times to compare to a baseline pre- solar usage.

Unfortunately the minimum is one star but they are not worth that! – Bought a a system with 6 x 250W panels, all now have cracks in the cells but I cannot contact them on any number! the 1300 number has been disconnected and the single mobile number listed for head office wont answer!

Solar install on family home – We installed in our family home an Enphase system to meet our needs. We don’t have the easiest roof for solar but on the day the installers adapted the original design to ensure we got 17 panels installed. Am loving watching the app to see how much the system generates versus our household consumption. Highly recommended! Show details

Great expertise and installation – Ben and team were great. They have expertise in products and provide competitive pricing with friendly and prompt service and installation. Had a minor issue after installation and the team came back ASAP with a fix - no questions asked. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend. P.S. I would ignore the old reviews, as i think this company has changed hands recently. Show details

Love our solar and love the app!! – We had nearly 30 panels installed and its been excellent! I really liked Ben and the team, they were all super helpful and easy to work with. The enlighten app is excellent as I can check it any time of day and it reads from each individual panel! We have had a great experience with Nu Energy. Show details

Even the ombudsman couldn't deal with this shonky company and its owner after completely establishin – Installation and dealings with call centre were flawless but the electrician installers virtually. disappeared and wiped their hands of any responsibility and basically the issue was with the company and supposed guarantee. This was the worst dealings I've had with any company and I am still incensed..

Worst company for customer service – We have had 2 inverters supplied by this company and both have failed. Very, very, very hard to contact them as no phones or website info seems to be connected. Our last one is still under warranty but somehow I don't think it will be honoured. Will contact Fair Trading and see if we can get any action.

Go somewhere else – I chose Nu Energy because they were a large established company. It has been a terrible experience. Many long delays. They NEVER respond. They lie. for them to install a different inverter, with a small discount for the replacement. This took months to arrange. Then they didn't do the paperwork which has left me with problems with the energy company. They still won't respond. Do not have anything to do with them.

Still waiting – Inverter broke down after 5 years and 1 month, no warranty. rang to get a new one, paid by card over the phone, still waiting for the inverter to arrive. More than 6 weeks. Ben wont respond to emails and Sam keeps fobbing me off. I wish I'd read some of these reviews before I bought.

Bad choice in Nu Energy – Inverter broke down barely 2 years after installation, it was replaced but told afterwards it was replaced with 2nd hand one. It also broke down and I haven't been able to contact them either. I've started to try contacting the people who originally supply these inverters with no luck yet. I'm now left thinking going solar is not a good thing in the long run.

Are nu energy still operating – As most of my CEEG panels have developed burn marks I have tried to submit their waranty form only to receive "nothing found here" message. After seeing all these reviews I think it will be a waste of time trying to receive any satisfaction. Can't even submit review without giving a star rating, so 1 star = 0 to negative rating.

Tried contacting Nu Energy...... number doesn't answer – Inverter has failed. Tried calling Nu energy, but no answer. I emailed the company and received a message telling me to contact a local installer. I'm thinking that maybe they have folded and is leaving all customers without any kind of support. I have that awful feeling that we will need to have the entire system replaced.

Nu energy same man that goes under 3 different names and numbers – Shocking this company. Going to fair trading tomorrow. This nu energy man that has refused me a new hot water service even though its still under warranty and I have all the paperwork. Only 4 years old. Had problems from day one with this company. They took my 14,000 and ran. I'm a single working mum paying a mortgage just surviving.

I had to click one star to submit this review so please take note, they do NOT rate even one star – I signed up with this company based on price. I paid around $200 extra as I have tiles on my roof. Several weeks after paying some lads fitted the panes and the inverter. All ran well until it rained. I call a guy to check out the leaks and he said I had several cracked tiles around the panels. So I contacted Nu energy so they could do the right… Read more

thing and pay up the several hundred dollars it cost me to have the tiles replaced. They didn't want to know. They just ignored my emails and never called me back. Then, just before summer the inverter failed. The warranty claim system is very strange. I contacted some of the sparkies on the list of approved agents and most of them would not deal with any warranty claims with this company. 105 days and many, many emails and phone calls to their Philippine STALL CENTRE (because that's all they do, Stall), A guy came around and replace the faulty unit in about 10 minutes with a refurbished one. I called the Stall Centre to check and make sure that the warranty on the second hand unit would commence again. Oh, how silly of me, No, the warranty runs from the date of first installation, tough luck buddy, if the inverter was broken for all but one day then you would have a one day warranty. I just wanted my 3 months worth of power and the $200 for having a tiled roof and the $200 odd for repairing the cracked tiles reimbursed. I never received a reply to my very reasonable request.

So, if you are happy purchasing a solar unit that doesn't produce power all summer long and you are happy having your roof damaged and paying extra for the privilege and if you are comfortable with this type of after sales service then go with this mob. If I had my time again I would have paid a bit more and gone with anybody else on the planet.

Would not advise anyone to use this company!!! – I have had solar power system from this company since November 2009. I phoned to speak to someone in relation to this matter and as other people just got a message bank. When the man rang back I considered him to be very rude and… Read more

had no customer service skills.

I have compared my most current bill to a friends current bill (which I was told was not possible as no ones power usage is the same!). But if you have the same amount of people in the household and neither have swimming pools, etc. then I feel the bills would be a similar. My rebate has only been around the $100 mark and my friends is closer to $250 each bill. So I felt I had a good enough reason to question the difference.

His examples about rebates were only about Victoria and New South Wales, HELLO I am in Queensland. Also used the excuse that if I have changed powers provider they since putting in Solar that could be the problem as I think he said they can overcharge you. (I have been the the same power provider since June 2009). Another one it depends which way you panels face my are North my friends West I have been told that north is better than West.

I may be 1 of the lucky ones that have not had to make a warranty claim. I hope I never have to deal with this rude man again.

I was very happy with the service I received when purchasing this unit and have recommended them to many people over the last 6 years. I have a retail shop and speak to many people weekly and will never advise anyone to purchase Nu Engery solar again but completely the opposite

Stay clear. Customer service in my eyes is to listen to people not talk over them, try to help in any way. During out first phone call he had to look something up and asked me to call back in 5 mins I was not sure that I had to call back or if we would call me back (customer service would be he calls me back) again I was in the wrong as I waited for his call to be told I was to cal him back when I did call back. Could not work out what he had to look up, as the only info he had seam to be a couple of taps on a calculator but I can't work out the figure he came up with. I think he just didn't want to pay for the call.

Any way do not even consider purchasing from the company!

Don't use this company – The inverter with the system I bought broke and it took many, many phone calls and emails to get any response from them. It took them four months to replace the inverter (with a refurbished one, not a new one) and wouldn't even extend the warranty for the "new" replacement. This shows how little faith they have in their own products!!

Nu Energy is a joke! Zero customer service deserves a zero rating. There is absolutely no customer s – I suspect that Nu Energy no longer exists in the capacity as described on their current website.
