gave me an option either continue to pay for another 12 months or pay outright. Subscription service for phones is a scam and a terrible idea. Once I pay the outright payment, I’m done dealing with these people. They are a scammer and will continue to take your money. Please do your research before you purchase your next phone. I don’t recommend buying phones from them.
Follow-up · They did say I could pay the outright amount and then I can own the phone. The thing is that I have lost the phone while I was moving house. So I have no idea where it is now.
Scammers. They get you on a plan to buy the phone on an “contract” but provide no contract. Then they’ll change it to a subscription service with ongoing payments 2 years after the “subscription “ ends without your consent. There is no real time customer support!
The chat bot is useless and just asks you to submit a a request anyways. Queries are often answered within the same day if you're lucky, but hours in between and Im always left with more questions which takes more time and rolls over to the next day, and the next day. The issues I came across was the steps presented in how to upgrade your phone is incorrect. You cant submit a return request as instructed and shown. You have to reach out to customer service, send in photos of your phone and also agree to pay a $15 return fee. The biggest issue I had was that my new phone subscription wasn't even available in my account and no matter how many times I asked customer service to confirm, I got, "maybe you used a different email", "it can take 72hrs to appear in your account" or not even addressing the question all together. Finally after 7 days from receiving my new phone, my account was updated with the correct phone subscription and the old subscription removed.
But the story doesn't end there. The start date of my new phone subscription was 10 days out. I ordered and paid the first instalment on the 25/01 (I specifically waited for this date so it would fall inline with my sim subscription payment) but the phone subscription start date says 04/02 which completely throws out the billing cycle and not to mention they round up to the nearest dollar so even if your phone plan is $46.63, they will bill you $47! I am again awaiting for a response to fix this...
This has really put a sour taste in my mouth. I'll pass on any future phone upgrades if it means I have to go through all this again!
No compasion of any kind – After being with Nu Mobile for app 6mths I was dissatisfied. Their coverage is hopeless. Finally after nothing changing I have changed providers. called my new people and they said they said they would port a.s.a.p and the SIM would be out in the next couple of days. Today I awake to NOTHING on my phone. I am diabetic among other things, and must have phone coverage at all times. These people do not care, all they want is your money. You can never contact them by phone even though the website says you can, it's all done by email.

a subscription service and not to own outright. They had changed it since my first sign up and it was absolutely not obvious. Why would I commit to ongoing subscription charges for my kids and parents phones without owning them!!!. I contacted Nu Mobile which is bloody difficult as others have stated. When I contacted them and expressed my concern about how they've mislead me on the sign up for the last 3 phones, they were not at all interested. Requested an email. I was also advised I would need to pay another years subscription charges to exit out of the subscription contract, as they need to on-charge for missing revenue opportunities that phone would have made them. They do not believe they mislead me. The option to purchase was there originally for my first purchase, hence U went back and the sign up process was exactly the same but it was not clear that is was a subscription. They have since re-introduced the pay to own option so you can clearly see the difference on their website on sign up but it was not clear when they moved to subscription only. I have logged a complaint with the Ombudsmen and Nu Mobile have had 2 dates to reach out and contact me to resolve and they have not. Horrible company, feels like they bill me every week, zero customer service. Do not engage!!!!

Less than 1 star! – I can’t activate my account to even review it. As the phone company doesn’t have a customer service line that answers, they just text you saying use the customer service chat. This doesn’t work. They want me to do a full security check via email. Which I am not comfortable with. Horrific service so far! Can’t even cancel because I need a security check! customer support yet again to clarify why I was receiving correspondence, I received an automated email asking me to confirm multiple personal details including date of birth and address. I recommend not only for those who are thinking to use this service to look elsewhere but to be cautious what information you share with them.
Great service & savings – Been with Numobile around 3 years now. Left Telstra due to poor service. Coverage has been excellent from Jindabyne to Far north Qld, including offshore (yacht). value & service. Looks like some reviews are really complaining about Telstra’s coverage. I wouldn’t blame Numobile for that. I would really like wifi calling though!
August 2025 update. Wifi calling was suddenly available. But Numobile phone services has now been taken over by Tangerine. Nothing to say about Tangerine so far.

the SIM, my Thursday 10th had participated in a 30 + email discourse of frustration ineptitude and and total lack of ability to communicate properly, even received a text message congratulating me on activating the SIM telling me I'm good to go and yet I still have not received the phone, nobody at the company seem to be in touch with anyone else my belief by then was someone had still on the phone and activated it. They were still of absolutely no assistance even though I had repeatedly ask somebody to phone me that we could discuss the situation. Total failure absolutely will not be dealing with them again.
Disappointing provider, poor customer support – So apparently when you go overseas for a week Numobile just don't send any text messages. Trash telco – Thought I would give these guys a try since there are a lot of trash Telco out there.. unfortunately this is another trash Telco. Stop your incoming calls and texts which is illegal. They stopped my services before my payday. I am on centrelink and REQUIRE a login code. everything went chaotic. I have been receiving different data balances every time I text BAL to 179. I made a series of emails with different representatives, but no one was able to help me. I asked to change my plan to 42G instead thinking that this would resolve data problem. On 21 March 2023, I paid an amount of $40 but the data allowance did not change and stayed the same as last month (20G). I got tired of messaging them and not getting the answer I want. I was trying to reach them via their website instead of email but I could not even access my account as it has been blocked due to numerous times of entering wrong passwords. When I received an email saying that my account has been unblocked, I tried accessing it again but still got the same technical error message. I'm done with this sim provider. DO NOT USE THIS if you don't want to suffer the same stress I had when I was still with them. I DO NOT RECOMMEND NU MOBILE at all because of being inconsiderate to their customers and incorrect/confusing advice from their Customer Service Representatives.
Poor reception in Adelaide & indian scam callers getting through – i live and work in the city and sad to say, there is poor reception within the city. the other person on the line couldn’t quite hear me, calls get cut off . worst, since moving to this provider, I get a lot of call scammers with an accent from India, usually everyday and also text messages. when you report a fault, they also asked you for your personal details to be sent by email which is unsafe. Silent but worth – Value for money. I like the fact that the MVNO is relatively quiet, however does the work. Rather than spending on advertising, engaged with customers satisfaction. No sneaking app to monitoring you 24/7. I feel they should seriously think about introducing VoLTE, VoWiFi to put their MVNO one step ahead, while 5G is rolling out across Australia… Read more
from the major mobile network operators - for example, Telstra, Optus, and TPG merger. Call quality is so far so good. Network signal is okay. Customer service via chat is satisfactory.

does credit checks – i tried for cheap service and older samsung automaticaly says is does credit check now failed even i have good record my file be aware of sign up i would advise to inform. customers
Value for money – Looking for a new deal with my existing Telstra service and mobile and they couldn't give me all the options I wanted. Investigated numobile and got an upgraded phone (reconditioned not new) for only $4 more a month than my previous service & more data than I need. I can make international calls for free from Australia and still get the Telstra… Read more
network service coverage. The only downside is you can't use global roaming but I see that as a feature as it will stop me overspending!
