COMPLETE RIP OFF...!! – ***Not included in NM health*** - Private ED presentations not covered even if the closest emergency dept. - Pre-Operative consultations - XRays/Scans unless admitted into a hospital - GP visits and online scripts aren't covered like many other private health providers. - Hospital discharge medications are fully out of pocket. - Any blood tests… Read more

or other pathology tests you are fully charged, unless in admitted into a hospital. These can be $950+. - Laser eye surgery not covered if you have a disease affecting your eye sight. - Extras are capped at a tiny amount where you still have the inconvenience of paying out half the fee eg they only cover $100 for optical frames and half decent ones are $200+ and they only cover $36 per massage and an hour is $70+ - Only let you use one extra service per day, so can't even claim a clean, filling and fluoride treatment in one booking at a dentist. - If a service doesn't have a HICAPS terminal available, you have to pay 100% out of pocket and chase up your reimbursement providing by their strict claiming policy. - Remedial massage, Myotherapy, Acupuncture, and Chinese Herbal Medicine are all combined together with a maximum amount, so you can't get your monies worth.

JUST A BIG [Content Removed]... My fees were over 7k per year ($280 per fortnight) and I couldn't even possibly use 2k of that if you tried your hardest.

Extras - good cover, easy to claim, no hassles. Good insurance. Hospital - insurer refused to tell me how much I'd be covered for before procedure, even though I gave specific procedure number and name of surgeon & hospital. Claiming is very… Read more ·  1

difficult because they require specific forms not normally released by the hospital. So far I've tried to claim three times and three times they've said "sorry wrong paperwork". Insurer still refuses to tell me how much I could expect to get back, if I can get the correct paperwork from the hospital. I consider this hospital cover to be "junk" status.

 Follow-up  · Insurer followed up on my case and has gone the extra mile to make things right. That is impressive actually.

requested which I advised them of Wednesday - also ignored. NM actually considering all the information - definitely not. It appears they only choose the info that suits their position to decline despite very obvious mistakes/contradictory information. Dealing with NM this week has been such a frustrating and stressful experience that I would not recommend NM to anybody after this.

Can not understand why you cant arrange a direct debit from your credit card. It’s either from a savings account or you get a monthly bill to bpay. I’ve checked and they have no plans to change this in the future. Otherwise they’d be great, but so backwards not to take a credit card in 2025. If you’re like me a put everything through a credit card this isn’t the fund for you. Show details

Claim rejected even though app stated money available – Claimed for a dental occlusal splint at the dentist on 9.6.23 - claim was rejected. I checked the app prior to attending appointment and again at the dentist and it stated I had $500 left for major dental. The dentist advised to submit again manually which I did - again rejected stating funds exhausted, app still showing $500 available. Phoned… Read more

three times each with a lengthy wait and it was explained that the $500 was a yearly increase and only available from 10.6.23!!!! Why then did it state in the app that it was available prior to the 9th when I received my splint. I asked if they could reconsider as it was just one day out and I was not aware it was only available from the 10th, also that the app was misleading otherwise I would have delayed until the following week. Nurses and midwives were very efficient until taken over by Teachers insurance claims now take a couple of weeks to come through. I asked to speak to a manager but was told that they would not pay this. I have been a loyal customer on top cover with top extras for the past 4 years and I feel no consideration was given to this.

NMH (part of teacher's heath) is great health fund. You pay about the same as other big health fund but it actually covers waaaaaaaaayyyyy more. Our product specialist Samina was very helpful and attentive, we are really happy with the service. Show details ·  1
