Nylex Flextreme Hose

I bought a Nylex Flextreme hose, thinking it was a high end quality hose. Within a year this hose needs replacing as it has become so sticky it is terrible to handle, and the stickiness can only be removed from my hands with eucalyptus oil. After contacting Nylex they take no responsibility for the faulty product, and only keep referring me to the retailer. Don’t buy Nylex products, they are expensive and of inferior quality.

Spend the extra money to get a good quality hose (20yr warranty), is stored in the shade and has gone sticky just like the last one. Had to clean my hands with orange oil to get the sticky off. Very disappointed. Show details

Hose started out ok but has gone totally sticky and unusable. Do yourself a favour and save yourself the money. Outside of hose will decay and it will be no good after a short time. Very disappointed in what I thought was a quality company. Show details

Nylex Flextreme hose spews a nasty foam for first 30-60 seconds every time I use it. Appears to be chemical leaching from inside the hose. Never had any other hoses do this. Not good for edible garden or pets drink water. Definitely Avoid!!! Show details

I liked this hose at first, but then once the exterior started breaking down, it's the worst. It's sticky all over and feels awful. I've also noticed that when the tap is first turned on, the water comes out white and frothy. My other hoses don't do this, so maybe this Nylex one is also deteriorating on the inside. Show details

Nylex kink resistant hose absolute rubbish. Has gone sticky, cleaned it like the experts say but only to have it go sticky once again. I would not recommend this product at all. A waste of money. Show details

Extremely awful – I would give this hose minus 1 but you can't. Worst hose I've ever owned and now I'm throwing it out. You can only use nasty nylex attachments with it, and they're awful too. blows out at the fitting and splits. Total waste of money for something that has a 15 year warranty. Don’t buy.

Finally a hose (that to date) will not kink! – I was very apprehensive in purchasing another Nylex hose following the totally useless kinking (Nylex Knock about) hose from some years back, but I am pleasantly surprised. Admittedly I have installed a hose holder to 'roll' this hose onto, and even though it has been used through the winter months it refuses to kink. Octopus hose – The Nylex 20m Flextreme hose would have to be the tangliest hose I've ever used. I have to wrestle it every time I remove it or put it back on the hose reel. It's so frustrating! It's doing the exact opposite of what it's meant to do. I bought it about a year ago from Bunnings but didn't keep my receipt so I guess I'm stuck with this octopus of a hose. Show details

Nylex flextreme hose – After 18 months my hose has a sticky surface and is only use occasionally for our gardens as we have reticulation. Had to cut off about a metre of sticky hose. Not happy with this product. Show details

Nylex flextreme breakdown – I purchased the Nylex flextreme 40 m x 12 mm garden hose at bunnings less than a year ago. Nylex back the product with a 15 year guarantee. that another “big brand product “ has fallen short of expectations!! Wish that some company would re-visit the old recipe used for Nylex triple flex , from 20 plus years ago. I purchased this hose, and it’s still intact after 20 plus years of full sun exposure. Please do yourself a huge favour, and do not purchase the Nylex flextreme ! The failing flextreme hose was returned to Bunnings today , and , as usual, refunded me the purchase price without argument!

kinky hose – I recently purchased a so called kink resistant Nylex hose (kink resistant number 10) which is supposed to be the best. I'm nearly driven mad with untangling this hose. It doesn't even wind up without kinking and tangling. Very disappointed, I could return it but would need to get another hose and from what I can gather there is a hit and miss as to whether it will kink. False advertising regarding the kink resistance. Show details

Don’t buy this hose – Bought this hose 18 months ago, thought I’d spend some extra cash on what I thought would be a good quality product, the outside of the hose gets a sticky residue on it, the residue transfers to your hands while handling the hose, this sticky residue can not be wiped off, it’s obviously a problem with this particular hose as there are other posts here noting the same problem, Show details

This is shocking – Hose kinked within a week. It tangles and every so often I have to stretch the hose to full length in the sun to get the tangles out. Show details

Outer Plastic Melts – Although the hose is "UV Protected to withstand harsh Australian conditions", it cannot be left outside in Brisbane. The external plastic is melting in the sun. Nylex response was to store it out of the sun (not possible), and to wash the hose. Show details

one kink or twist during use, or when rolling back up, absolutely fantastic product. With a 15 year guarantee you can't go wrong. I don't usually do these reviews but after using this hose I thought it deserved it. If your looking for a hose that's top quality then look no further than Nylex Flextreme. I would highly recommend this hose to anyone and say it's more than worth the extra few bucks, the old adage of you get what you pay for rings true here. 12/10

So far so good! – So I've migrated across from a pope hose to see if this nylex one would leak like the other one when connected to my pressure hose. Safe to say, this is WAYYY better. No leaks at all! I've only had it about 6 months, so durability will be the only test left. I am really happy so far though! Great price. Great size. Great product. At last! A hose that doesn’t split in cold weather and stays supple all year round – Having replaced a $25 hose that is not fit for purpose, I paid $50 for the Nylex Flextreme. It’s worth the extra expense as I’ve had it nearly two years and I’m pleased to say it hasn’t gone hard and split in cold weather and stayed soft and supple in -1° C. Show details ·  1

Good quality garden hose – soo tired of using cheap hoses becuase they snap and split . buoght flextreme hose fro mnylex and its good quality . the material is different from other hoses ,its stronger . would reccommend ! Show reply
