Change isn’t always a good thing – I’ve used oil of Olay original for many years and I was always complemented on my skin. The scent was refreshing and it was thick and silky .The new formula is terrible . It’s thin and oily. I never used to get pimples and now every time I use this product I break out. I’m not happy to have to search for a face cream that does what this product used to do . Why would you change a perfect product?

Horrible!!! – I am a woman of a certain age 66 years young. I started using Oil of Olay facial and body fluid moisturizer that was in a glass bottle and it was pink when I was 20 years old. The formula was very light and melted into your skin and left you with a beautiful dewy glow, not oily and greasy. The new formula of today, is horrible! It's a heavy… Read more

cream base formula that leaves your face feeling oily. Some things are better left alone, change is not always good.

Please go back to the original 1960s '70s formula of oil Olay that was pink and was in the glass bottle. Thank you very much, Another unhappy and dissatisfied customer

Bring back the original scent and consistency PLEASE. My Nanna had been using it since it was Oil of Ulan and I loved it – Leaves a gross layer on skin. Original product absorbed beautifully in my skin. Show details

I want the original Olay for acne prone skin back – I had been using the Olay lotion for acne prone skin for 25 years . That was the only product that suited my skin. Then it was discontinued and the newer lotions are so bad causing breakouts and making the skin less smooth. That's it for me. Will be moving to some other brand after trial and error. Why would you mess with tried and tested formulae. Loyal customers are going to leave .☹️ Show details

A proven product shouldn't be changed – After using this product for 45 years, the change in formula was thin and greasy. Not like the original one After ringing to complain,I was told a bareface lie that the formula hadn't changed. In my opinion,it is just a matter of the bottom line and hope no one will notice Next it will be palm oil.If enough people boycott this rubbish, maybe the old… Read more

formula will be brought back.I took my opened bottle to Vinnies because I refuse to use it.It is still there for $1.00 after 3 weeks.I have since moved on to ALDI products.WOW,what a difference.

they changed the fragrance!!!!! – I just called Olay customer service and found out they added a fragrance to the original lotion. I can't stand the smell and they just lost a customer who has used it for over 45 years. It smells horrible. Show details

Formula change cost customers – I have been a faithful and very happy user of Oil of Ulan ( I refuse to accept what I see as a TOTALLY unnecessary name change to suit conformance - another complaint) for over 55 years. My sister, her daughter and my daughter were also confirmed users over several decades. I was very happy with the original formula, less so with the change made… Read more

around the time of the name change but we have all had to cease being users at all now. Following the latest formula change last year none of us can tolerate it. Hot burning inflamed itchy swollen skin requiring in my case medication was the typical result. We did search out and stockpile as much as we could find across two states supplies of the previous formula but they are now almost depleted. Net result all four of us will now regretfully no longer use Oil of Ulan. Why change a good product with a proven record and a satisfied loyal clientele?

It Must Have Changed – I'm writing this in response to people saying the original formula has changed. I read that the original name, Oil of Olay, was a spin-off on the word lanolin, which the original contained. However, lanolin is not listed in the ingredients of today's lotion (unless lanolin has some other unrecognizable name). I still love it though! Show details

Used to be the best - now changed – I have been using this product for sensitive skin - with no perfume for over 40 years, as did my mother. This was an excellent product and I have soft smooth skin which often attracted comment. The perfume in the regular one gave me headaches, and the sunscreen in the complete version causes itching. After looking for it recently I found that what… Read more

appeared to be similarly packaged product now had sunscreen, which clogs up the skin and I do not require. I found that the colour of the package has now changed to pink, which is confusing as it looks the same as the non-sensitive one; and whilst I found the one without sunscreen, there was a faint odour and a different feel more waxy. The label says with coconut oil - which would indicate a new addition to the formula. I don't know why you would change a good product that clearly works and is well supported by it's users.

Oil of Olay Active Hydrating Lotion - Original Formula – I am very disappointed in the change made to the formula of this product over the last year. It no longer has a nice fragrance, does not absorb well and leaves a waxy coating on my skin. I have been using this product since I was 18 which is over 35 years. My daughter will also no longer use it as she does not like the new formula. We called… Read more

their customer service who advised the formula has not changed. When you use a product that long you can tell the difference. Very disappointed and will now have to try to find a new simple moisturizer.

No longer sensitive – The sunscreen causes irritation. I was really happy with the old formula. This feels greasy and uncomfortable. Doesn't make a good surface for foundation. May have to look elsewhere. Very disappointed.

Moisturiser for sensitive skin – I hate the new type which has sunscreen add to it. It is too perfumed, greasy & itches my skin. I was very happy before & have used this product for 20+ years.

Why change a great product? – I can’t seem to buy the old moisturiser anywhere. They’ve changed the formula. My mum, my grandma and my great grandmother used this product for years! They had the most beautiful, wrinkle free faces. I loved it but it’s no longer the same. Very disappointed. In saying that I do love the 7 effects and the night regenerist. Maybe it was a ploy to make you buy the more expensive products.

Changed ingredients – I’ve used Olay for 30 yrs. now aged 62 I have really good skin thanks I believe to Olay products. I bought Regenerist thermal mini peel & moisturiser regenerist micro sculpting cream. My skin broke out in red spots. So I stopped using it. About 6mths later I tried again (it’s not cheap$) but same thing red spots. Iwas told its new formula WHY WOULD OLAY FIX A PRODUCT THAT WASNT BROKEN

Expected better – My skin is combination and therefore I need a moisturiser that not only soothes my dry and sensitive skin but also doesn’t clog oily acne prone pores. Disappointed – For as long as I can remember, we have always had Olay in the house. My mum used it, I used it my entire adolescence to now. Sadly, the product has changed dramatically recently I've noticed with my recent purchase - the product smells different, feels more watery and when applied near eyes makes them water, face feels tingly and red. No ingredients list anymore.

They won't tell me what is in it - especially the preservative – This product used to list all ingredients. It no longer does. Not only has the formulation changed, but so has the disclosure. I was concerned that the preservative might be parabens, and contacted Olay to ask them what the full contents were. They treated it as a state secret and refused to tell me, and stopped replying to emails. I can only… Read more

conclude they are hiding information they prefer not to disclose. I assume the preservative must be parabens. This secrecy is not good enough for a product you put on your face everyday. I have advised my daughters and female friends not to continue using it.

Just O.K – I grabbed this one as it was half price at Woolies and I needed a moisturiser. It's not at all like the original one from years ago that I remember. It's very thin (almost watery) and doesn't feel as nice as some of the other brands out there. It does moisturise the face but not to the extent that I want. I'll be content using the rest of the bottle but not happy enough with it to buy another one when it's empty.

Felt like I put cling film on my face – I bought this as I could not find the old, lovely Oil of Ulan. On initial application, the lotion was soft. However, a few minutes on and I could feel a film on my skin that felt like it was smothering breathing through my skin. My skin felt stiff, as if I had a plastic film on it. The packaging probably has details of what is in it. But, I had… Read more

thrown out the packaging. I do not trust it to not have man made ingredients in it. As well, the remnant of the lotion in the plastic bottle would not let itself be squirted out even though I left the bottle in an upside down position overnight (cut it open with a sharp knife to get the dregs). - I use Johnson's Baby Lotion now - wonderful.

Olay has changed and its terrible – I have been using Olay( used to be called Oil of Ulan) for 40 years, the lotion states for sensitive skin, why if they were going to change the formula would they not have a sticker on the box or bottle stating new formula, it doesn't smell the same also goes on the skin thicker and gluggy, it has made my skin erupt into awful spots, it's now… Read more

i hate the nipple top – I am a 63 year old man. I started using the Olay Moisturiser years ago and as a bald man was happy when an SPF sunscreen was added. Olay has worked for me – I have been using Olay all my life and I have very good skin on my face. I have dry sensitive skin. Nothing beats this. I apply twice a day ... morning and bed time. Use spf 30 day on top of the Olay. Ladies, the truth is AVOID the sun on your face every time and at all times. The sun is the greatest wrinkler of your skin. Minimise foundation.… Read more

Drink plenty of water, eat coloured vegetables and spend less on silly products that does nothing to our skin. Mositurisers like Olay are reasonably priced and good enough to keep skin soft and well hydrated.

OIL of ULAN – Of all the skin care routines; I support facial scrubs as my number one practice, then moisturise with OLAY moisturising lotion; formerly known as Oil of Ulan. Given that my face has not been subjected to make-up over the years as I don’t like that caked on feeling, my results are purely attributed too using two skin care products; mainly Aapri… Read more

facial scrub and OLAY.

OLAY Normal (pink) is a light moisturising lotion that does not make you feel like your face is caked, greasy or layered with gunk! It’s meant to be light, unobtrusive so you feel fresh. The OLAY Sensitive (white) is even lighter in texture and application. OLAY 15+ is sightly different again as it has sun block.

Although OLAY say it helps diminish appearance of fine lines and wrinkles; my belief is your gene pool and environment will have the last word on that? Leaves you feeling fresh and moisturised

Olay Moisturising Lotion – I really enjoy using the Olay Moisturising Lotion as an every day cream. I find it soaks in well and works really well under makeup. Sun protection is a must and that's something this cream has also. I think overall it's a great moisturising cream for every day use. It's not harsh and works really well on my sensitive skin. Great for moisture – I love the standard olay lotion in the tube, the smell is fantastic. I'm not a fan of the tub as its consistency changes to a thicker form.
