Fantastic service
We moved our self managed super fund tax work from a bricks and mortar accountant to online super . We were a little nervous about it but decided to go ahead based on the very positive reviews and we are so glad we did . It’s much easier , quicker and about a quarter of the cost in fees . This is a great service and we thoroughly recommend it .
Very happy we changed to OSF
We were dubious to say the least regarding a change of accountant for our SMSF. Even though we went from online to online providers there is a definite feel of person to person contact from OSF. All enquiries answered with detailed responses in a timely manner. First year with OSF so early days however, I can say the level of service is reassuring.
Outstanding SMSF service provider
OSF helped me with all the admin to set up my fund in 2013, and have done all my annual returns (including arranging external audits) since then. Service and responsiveness from both Jarrad and Sherene is exceptional. And their fees are absolutely reasonable. They are a pleasure to deal with.
Another year of outstanding service
I have been using Online Super since 2013. It is a great service and a very reasonable price.
They have just completed my return for 2020-21 and it is still July 2021.
They have arranged the audit and the actuary report for the retirement accounts.
I couldn't ask for better service. This year I added a new member and changed fund trustee to a corporate trustee. All completed quickly and without any hassles.

Outstanding Service
This is my first year with Online Super Fund.
I have run my SMSF for eight years now and had used a local Chartered Accountancy firm, who gave me great service, but my fees had doubled over that period.
I decided that I should consider other options, and read the numerous five star reviews for Online Super Fund on this website. I've always been a little dubious about online reviews, and I was quite nervous about making the switch, but I must say that I have been delighted with the result and outstanding service.
These people are extremely organised, and prompt in answering any queries, in fact their service has proved to be better than my previous Accountant and at a much lower cost. They certainly deserve the five star rating!
First rate professional service
This is our first year with Online Super Fund. We have found them to be prompt with any question or query and completed our SMSF return accurately and on time. This is a massive change and improvement from a Melbourne based firm of accountants. We had previously been spending around $3500 for our SMSF return and audit to be performed by what we thought were a professional group of tax accountants. Not ideal when you are paying a significant fee in the expectation of receiving an accurate SMSF return. We cannot speak any more highly of Online Super Fund and recommend them highly to anyone seeking an affordable yet accurate service. The communication we have experienced so far is outstanding and no question is too much trouble and is answered within days if not hours. A refreshing change from a big firm that we paid big dollars to for a poor service. We are also very happy to be dealing with a business that is based in Australia as many taxation work is performed overseas to reduce costs. We have tried to complete our own SMSF tax return but it is a brain busting exercise even though we are fairly savvy with the taxation system and have a reasonable understanding of investments and basic accountancy. Online Super Fund have saved us a large amount of stress and time and we now feel that our SMSF is being audited accurately and for a reasonable cost. Thank you Jarrad and Sharene!
Terrible
I appointed [Name Removed] to prepare a set of accounts, associated paperwork and audit for 2020 in January. [Name Removed] failed to mention in our email discussions that he and his partner where heading off on a 6 week holiday in April. Once the contract was signed late Feb, I received an email from [Name Removed] telling me about the holiday and that she must have all documentation to her within a couple of days or they would not be able to do the work. I was not happy being put under this kind of pressure but complied and dropped everyth

They need to get some paperwork from the previous accountant who had not replied some 12 hours after they email her at which point they started emailing telling me they were unable to start the job without receiving documentation from the prior accountant. This had nothing at all to do with compiling the 2020 accounts. I started to then receive emails late at night requesting me to urgently respond and demanding information and saying they were unable to start with the work. My questions as to relevance and genuine dependence on the information being requested were treated with condescension. It was clear to me that they were simply looking for a way to get out of the contract. Claiming there wasnt adequate documentation, claiming the documentation was incomplete and making demands for turn around times that were unreasonable. I ended this arrangement. Would never ever recommend them.You have continued to bully and harass me, emailing again making slights. Now this. It acts as a warning to others hopefully.
Comprehensive SMSF Support Service
Online Super Fund provides an accounting and administration service for our SMSF. We have been with the service for 6 years and it has always provided a very quick and efficient service in completing the annual SMSF accounts and associated administration of the fund including arranging the audit and lodging the tax return. Customer service is excellent and fees are very reasonable.
Massive time and stress saver
I have been with OnlineSuper for nearly 2 years. They have done 2 year ends. For the previous 3 years I did the accounting myself. I then used to contact an Auditor. Online Super does the whole job for less 10% of the time I spent on the previous regime of doing it myself (Im serious). That time is now spend doing more research on investing. So its a big win for me.

Online Super Fund is an excellent SMSF admin service. We were with other services before, they were slow, expensive and sometimes wrong. This service is quick, accurate and responsive. The fee is reasonable.

Questions & Answers
Unfortunately, looks like Online Super Fund are not taking on establishing SMSF at the moment and only transferring existing funds. If Online Super Fund is monitoring this, are they able to indicate when they'll be taking on new clients again?
They may be busy with finishing the annual statements for 2021. It is a busy time of year.
They completed my return and I received my tax return before the end of July.
I think that Scott's comment is probably correct, as this is the busiest time of the year.
This is the first year that I have been with them. I transferred my existing fund, so I don't have any experience with them as far as a new fund establishment, but their service has been excellent. I received my refund on the 21/07, so I would definitely persist with them.

Online Superfund has provided me with an excellent service in respect of the administration, accounting and regulatory reporting for my SMSF and I would be confident that they would do so for any fund in similar circumstances. They provide a personalized service which makes the online process very effective. However I would recommend that you discuss with them whether their services extend to your own circumstances particularly if you have not yet set up your fund. Of course you will still need to understand your own duties as a trustee of the fund.

Agreed. Easy to set up. There are small extra charges for using an overseas broker - as opposed to buying OS shares or OS funds thru ANZ, CommSec, Colonial etc which are part of their overall fee. Its all laid out in their terms and conditions.

We believe in honest and open communication with our clients, and at no time was it our intention to turn away your business – it was purely to manage your expectations on the turnaround time and keep you up to date on the process. Unfortunately, the prior year accounts did not contain all the information we required to commence work and we were just letting you know this fact (and that we had made enquiries to obtain this information from the previous accountant). We spent several hours compiling all the necessary documents and corresponding with you – when you requested to cancel our engagement, we refunded our fees in full within 1 day. I am sorry that we could not assist you with your SMSF and that your experience was not the same as the overwhelming majority of our clients.
