SMSF complex tax matters and was able to go in details regarding Super options for ppl over 60. He was also very responsive to my follow-up emails, with the right details. The onboarding process was fast and took care of all the registration forms, sparing me from having to deal with ATO, ASIC and Macquarie. Stake is significantly easier to deal with than Interactive Brokers (company account). Being with them through a tax reporting cycle now, I can say the whole process is quick and reliable. Speaking with a friend who works as accountant, the $990 yearly is unbeatable and they take care of everything! For my SMSF, being able to trade in AU and US, Stake Super is the best choice for my SMSF (investing and a bit of swing trading). However, for my day-trading and swing trading needs, Interactive Brokers and Trade Zero remain the gold standard: super speedy execution, no slippage, L2, choice of routing, etc. I hope Stake’s platform will improve in this direction as well. But for my SMSF, Stake Super is the best solution I know of.

The setup was super easy. Way easier than I was expecting. I was kept very well informed of the progress. Everything was done very quickly. Any questions I had were answered promptly through email with the right amount of detail. So far I've been really happy with everything.

FYI... We've setup five family members with a corporate entity as the Trustee.

Using Docusign with all the paperwork was a breeze.

Difficult to get through on the phone. I find the SMSF team highly disorganised. App greys out sometimes and you cannot buy/sell until it becomes coloured and active again. : ( Stake always has an excuse for why the app is crap. Cheaper brokerage is the only plus.

Not worth their fees – I have had endless issue with this company. There is no phone number to phone which means you are constantly waiting for someone to get back to you. It takes days to sort out the most simple of issues. Having used multiple platforms for very specific and high volume equity transactions I was concerned about Stake's ability to handle these a the price they charge. After engaging with Matt and working through some very specific technical questions I was very impressed by his knowledge and this gave me the confidence to open a Stake account. I have now moved all my balances to Stake and am impressed with the platform.

too. With property I needed a bare trust setup and Rashmeet and Bruno from Stake was most helpful with this. Rashmeet is especially helpful and a real super star in the support team and is knowledgeable in everything. If you need help and come across her, you are very lucky indeed! Like other reviewers have said, Stake is not known for easy bare trust setups (for property) or yearly audits so maybe they can improve this with time as people are going to other smsf companies for this support. I would suggest extra guidance for newbies that want to buy property, as once it’s setup properly they will be happy to include this in their smsf. Overall I’m happy with the shares and after some back and forth with bare trusts, so it’s all good now.
