Charged for nothing! – Tried to purchase online travel insurance, got to payments and there was an error message an tried again, tried several times, happened to check my balance later and saw that I’d been charged 10 times!! Very bad customer service – My flight to Italy was cancelled a week before i was meant to fly. I sent an email to ask if i was eligible for a refund of the actual insurance as I wasnt travelling anymore. What it really upset me is not the not refund but to have been completely ignored. Very Disappointing ! Definition of a relative obscured in the fine print! – After contacting Online Travel Insurance when our 37 year old NIECE was tragically killed in a car accident, only to informed their definition of a relative stops short of our extended family . This was extremely disappointing and clearly had a significant financial strain at a time when w were griving our loss.

worth it just knowing your covered – this is the 2nd trip we have used OTI, was one of the cheapest we found, very simple to sign up & pay. Such a reassurance knowing you have it. One of our group became ill & had 3 nights in Shanghai hospital, blood test, ultra sounds, urine & multiple other tests. all up $15k. We haven't any experience claiming from OTI Show details ·  1

Terrible Policy please read product disclosure statement you are not covered if your carrier cancels – This is the first time using this Insurer, I chose the Essentials Plan which advised in 'bold' cancellation was covered. The carrier cancelled the flight and I was left stranded overseas, this policy does not cover additional cost associated with having to get emergency alternate flights as it would suggest when purchasing. Seamless Claim Process – I was a bit skeptical about Online Travel Insurance (OTI) after reading reviews here about claims unreasonably being denied on 'productreview' website. I called OTI and informed them about the situation. I was then sent an email where I had to document reason for cancellation and provide evidence such as police report and flight itinerary. I further received an acknowledgment email about my claim followed by a phone call confirming the claim and its aspects. Exact 10 days later, on Nov 16, I had been refunded the flight costs and accommodation expense less the applicable excess ($200).

Hence, I will recommend OTI without a question!
