Open N Shut came to our place to quote for an outside blind. They came in a little bit cheaper than another company so I gave the go ahead. A 50% deposit was required straight away which I was happy to do. The quoted time for installation was 6 weeks, but it came in at 10 weeks. I have recently had indoor & outdoor blinds installed by Open N Shut. The team from quoting (Ryan) to installation ( Nick/Outdoor, Monty/ Indoor) were efficient & professional. and was in no rush so it didn't bother me that much, providing a timeline once it was understood how long it would take to make my shutters might've been nice.
Installation was fine, guys rocked up in the afternoon, installed the outdoor unit, the electrician rocked up in the afternoon to do the switch inside, all and all, was pretty straight forward.
We bought our set of 4 roller shutters 2 years ago when we downsized into our new home. Last year we decided the front window could do with a roller shutter to blockout the morning sun which on hot summer days can become unbearable. AVOID. Inconsistent pricing and poor management. I had a terrible experience with Open N Shut. After cancelling two doors a month before measurement, the company provided zero transparency on the revised costs. I had to chase them multiple times for a breakdown, only to be charged the full original price for 7 items when only 5 were installed.… Read more
After disputing, they lowered the price by way less than the two doors were worth. The math made no sense.
While the installers and employees were nice, the GM was dismissive and rude, eventually stone-walling the conversation and refusing to reconcile the math. He showed no interest in helping, only in taking the money. I even went to CBS, only to be told that companies like them can essentially change their pricing on services and products however they feel. Real ethical.
I regret choosing this company. There are many others out there that provide the same service with actual transparency and communication. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
The worst experience when trying to support small business. Cannot communicate, every update I have needed, as been from calls from myself. OPEN N SHUT RIP OFF – Be warned this companies products are not good quality! I spent $2680 on 3 blinds, they are so bad I am going to pull them out. After calling them several times they sent out some one who could not fix them. Since then they just ignore my calls. If they can rip off and old pensioner like me, I doubt they will treat you better. Show details
