Scam scam scam!! I have a screenshot of even there customer service team saying they have no idea whats happening! Have not recieved results after weeks.

Dreadful customer service and lengthy wait times despite the 4 week turnaround Orivet claims. Ive been waiting 2 months for results and still nothing. company. My results came back very quickly with the other company which contradicted orivets results but matched the parentage dna meanwhile I was still waiting on my re test results. When I got some of the results back I was still waiting on the rest of the panel for one of my dogs. I called them so many times with promises of a returned phone call, which I still haven't received. I then got a merle result which was for the wrong dog. I emailed stating it was meant to be for the other dog and it was meant to be a full colour panel which I received no response. I called again and spoke to [Name Removed]. She was short, blunt and just said someone would call me back.. that phone call never happened. At this point ive excepted I waisted my money and time with them and wont be using them again. I also won't be referring anyone else including breeders to them. Ive seen a number of cases now as a breeder where they got the results wrong which then resulted in 2 dogs that shouldn't be mated together mated causing genetic issues with that litter. I have come to realise that this is an ongoing issue with orivet.

Edit: I ended up getting my results - said my little dog was 55% staffy, then mastiff, doberman & cane corso. It didn't make sense to me. Shes 12-13kg. So I went elsewhere. I still dont have my results. I paid $165. I spoke to them again a week ago and they said I should have them by the 5th. I then spoke to them yesterday again and they basically said sorry, got nothing and we don't have a solution. I told them that by next week I will be contacting ACCC and the pet store that sells them. They don't care - clearly normal practice for them.

I wish I never went for this company and checked reviews, but coming from a pet store I assumed all ok. With previous companies I have been able to get results in 2 weeks.

You mail the swabs to Melbourne. I'm in Brisbane. They tell you it takes 2-3 weeks to receive them to start processing. This makes me think either they are holding onto them so that their guarantee is pushed back (28 days from receiving with no results gets you a refund - apparently) OR the swabs divert somewhere overseas.

I wish I could give 0 stars. We adopted our puppy at 2 months old from RSPCA. He and the other 11 puppies in his litter were found abandoned with no mum. Since then we’ve had three DNA blood tests done on our puppy for Orivet over the last five months, and unfortunately, all have reportedly failed. During the most recent test, the vet collected three EDTA samples with 1mm in each (one in a glass vial and two in plastic).

Not only have all these tests failed, but I’ve also had to chase up the results each time, as I’ve received no proactive updates. When I called ORIVET a month ago, I was advised that the most recent test failed again because an EDTA vial apparently wasn’t used, which is very concerning given that it was.

I emailed through to them on the same day asking for a review of the samples. It's been over a month and I haven't received any sort of contact from them. I've followed up again tonight...but I'm not holding out much hope.

Since then I've done a DNA test through Ansestry, I'm still awaiting the results so can't comment.

My puppy is now 9 months old and we still have no idea what his breed is.

Don't use this service. Find someone else not linked to these scam artists!!

I found the lady to be extremely helpful and easy to deal with, and extremely patient as it was obvious I was struggling with what to do.

to send back new swaps. They said they would do that. However, the barcode for the swab which had arrived, then disappeared off their website when I logged in this gives a sense of chaos at that end and very poor administration. In short, use another company.

someone should have caught it, blah, blah, blah. Mind you, this is a month after originally ordering. The set of swabs finally arrived. I completed the tests same day and sent them back. I paid for shipping as the instructions advised. Come to find out they sent an old envelope with invalid instructions and it was sent to the old address never to be found. I ordered another set of swabs which arrived and were sent back the same day only this time I tracked the package. They were delivered on a Friday. I still had not heard from them the following Tuesday (2 business days after it was delivered) so I called. It is it now 14 business days from the day they said it was received (e.g. the Tuesday I called) and I still do not have results. I ordered a breed specific test from the UK (10-14 shipping days both ways) around the same time and have had results for 2 weeks. Absolutely horrific customer service with this company. I will be so happy if I never have to deal with them again!!!

They have given false promises and expectations that they have been unable to uphold. There is honesty nothing good to say about Orivet. I am a very patient person but I am tired of being strung along when all I want to my puppy to come home which can’t happen until they give my breeder his paternity. I was supposed to have the information and my puppy over two weeks ago. This is absurd, they make their customers feel ignored, powerless and unimportant. There actions not only have affected me, but they affect my breeder who is just tying to do the best she can for her business. If you are thinking of trusting this company with your pets DNA or the DNA their offspring, DONT! Unless of course you enjoy waiting x4 longer than you expect

I wish I could click on 0 stars! What a scam! I paid $155 for the Geno Gog DNA test. Sent the test back in March... it is now May and there are no results.. I have sent emails and tried calling.. no answer! What a waste of time and money!

Only giving 1 as Zero is not an option. Bought their pet ID tags approx 18 mths ago, and now they don't work! Can't even find them on my login. No notification from Orivet about them no longer being supported. Lucky my dogs didn't go missing. Don't trust their services.

Orivet really are a disgrace, so often advise the incorrect results. They take zero responsibility for their mistakes. I’ve emailed several times, called and spoken with staff and they assure me someone will get back to me, nobody ever does. Most breeders are trying to better their breeds but how can they when geneticists at Orivet get it so wrong.

someone will contact me"—yet no one ever does, or they 'start' a conversation and then become completely unresponsive when challenged. I was promised a refund which never eventuated, and upon trying to follow this up, I have been ignored.

The lack of accountability, transparency, and basic customer service is astounding. They take your money but fail to deliver the service promised. Given the number of similar complaints, it’s clear this isn’t an isolated issue but a systemic failure in their operations.

This is all on top of an extremely confusing and misleading website and online store, which at the time of writing this review, is also down and users can't log in.

While I'm not confident in a suitable resolution in any kind of timely manner, at least I can warn others about their awful service. If you’re considering Orivet, save yourself the stress and go elsewhere. My next steps will be to escalate this to consumer protection authorities.

Incorrect DNA test and impossible to contact – Paid $160 for dna breed identification testing for our dog and it is compeltely incorrect and the team refuse to get back to us with any answers. Her results show she is bichon frise x mini poodle, however our dog is straight haired and red in colour and 15kg... Will be reporting this to ACC for false advertising

Waste of money – Complete waste of money!!! VERY, VERY, VERY difficult to register the six (6) DNA swabs. They also require you to tell them about your dog and then in about four weeks or a bit longer they tell you what you have told them plus the very enlightening information that your dog is a high percentage of "mixed breed". Also, just an email 'Order Confirmation' but no Tax Invoice.
