Brilliant - When it Works – MIXED REVIEW: The juicer itself was excellent when it worked. I purchased it from Vitality4Life in Byron Bay. But it started smoking a few months after purchase. Up until that point I loved it and it had worked brilliantly. Had to return it to Vitality4Life at my cost ($40) for fixing. Got it back and same thing happened a few weeks… Read more ·  1

later. What a drama to repeat again. I asked for a new juicer under warranty and they said no. They just fixed it again. Needless to say the same thing happened a few months later.

Anyway after that fiasco the filter then broke. Presumed I could get a free replacement under warranty. But no I could not.

At that point, I put it in the back of the cupboard and it has rotted there ever since. $500 wasted. I know the brand is excellent. But the people I brought it from are not.

The "good" rating is for the product. Because when it does work it is really good. And Oscar have a good reputation in general.

But zero stars to Vitality4Life

Anyway purchased another cold pressed juicer (different brand) for $500 and love it. The only problems I have had in the past five years, are the filters breaking every few months due to daily juicing of carrots. But no problem, as they get replaced free of charge under warranty still.

If you can get a good warranty that the sellers will honour - then yes this is an excellent juicer over all.....when it works.

Pathetic customer service – First, they denied completely for part warranty claim and asked me to pay for it. Second, they rejected my claim straightaway without even trying to understand the issue. Third, I had to put an extra effort to make them understand that I was juicing tiny pieces of sugarcane which was peeled and cut into tiny chunks... Juicing was not the issue,… Read more

I was getting the juice in the container but the pulp was stuck in the machinery on the setting of '5' which cracked my strainer. This customer rep lady's recorder was repeating the same thing that neo juicer is not capable of juicing sugarcane as its too had in texture. my question was - how can it be hard in texture if its peeled and diced into chunks? and there was no answer but the same statement from her again and formed a loop.

Fourth, what [censored word removed] was when customer service rep asked me to call them and check with them every single time before juicing.- whether the juicer can juice that particular veggie or fruit or not.

Fifth, After a couple of days they raised a case by themselves, sent me an email stating that we are looking into the matter. It has been a month and still there is no reply from them.

Neo Juicer is perfect for juicing but the customer service is not in sync. Sad!

Best available from your normal shops – I was looking for the best juicer available from the normal electrical outlets, which did the job well, was easy to clean, had maximum juice extraction, with good quality of juice but also reliable so it wouldn't break down. I've had the Oscar Neo for around 4 months now and it does all this, plus is quiet in operation and is designed well.… Read more ·  1

Basically it uses low speed - high torque to push the pulp through with a strong motor. High torque meaning it won't jam up like other juicers because the motor is powerful and won't slip. It does have a reverse function which I didn't realize, but I haven't had to use it yet. High torque, slow revolution has the benefit of slow juicing whereby the fruit & vegies are cold pressed and don't warm up the juice, so the nutrients aren't broken down by the heat cause with high spin rates, and can be kept for longer. The high pressure and fine strainer gets maximum juice out.

I bought another brand slow cold press juicer for my tenants, which appears to have copied the auger design as much as allowed without infringing the patent, but it jammed up so had to return it. The ON's auger (crushing shaft/spindle) has got a unique design which breaks down the fruit then collects it and pushes it through. It doesn't jam because of the varying base diameter of the auger and vanes. A juicer that jams can be a pain to clean and get started again.

Haven't had a problem with the strainer surround being plastic (the main strainer is stainless steel). I think it's designed well. But the proof is in the quality of juice. Being quiet in operation is a benefit cause it doesn't stress you out when making juice - which is meant to be relaxing :)

The only thing is that you have to cut the fruit to fit the size of the inlet chute. I think this inlet size is balanced with the diameters of the auger so that it doesn't jam. So for apples, get one of those corer + slicer things that core the apples & slice it into segments in just one press. Cheap enough, but/so maybe ON should give one free with their juicer.

It's a big price jump from the other juicers, but I would recommend to go for quality and choose this juicer, and save / make up the money elsewhere.

Oh yeah, there's a 15 year guarantee on the motor.

Disapointed in ANOTHER broken strainer - Problem Fixed ! – I have had this juicer for a year now and use it everyday!! I even take it on holidays, we love our juice that much. I am however disapointed that I have now had to buy 5 strainers in the last year. The second time it broke we were told that this was because I was using it incorrectly, NO, it is poor design when something that should be strong… Read more ·  3

Efficient compact juicer – We bought this juicer about six months ago after quite a bit of research, and decided it looked to be the best value for money. We were right! It is powerful and very effective at getting the most liquid out of just about anything. The pulp is dry and compact, and perfect for our two worm farms and our compost bins. It has a small footprint for… Read more ·  1

something this effective, and is relatively easy to clean as long as you don't let pulp dry on the filter. May not take large chunks of veg like some others, but I think this helps it to get the most out of our produce. Would buy again

Please don't waste your money – I was told they were the best juicer so I bought 3 - one for myself and my 2 children. I am very disappointed as it is the worst juicer I have used. It is very slow and leaks around where the barrel joins to the machine Also all builds up in the chute and takes ages to go through the bottom grate - with much use of the pusher. All the pulp fills… Read more

the barrel. I find it goes better if I take the end off. I just expected a lot better as my friend has an upright juicer and it is so much better. Guess I will have to learn from my mistake and save up for a better one. My children are also very disappointing and said she has just put it in the back of the cupboard. It juices carrot OK but that is all.

DA-1000 Juicer – The DA-1000 is a poor cousin to the last Oscar we owned for 15 years without the problems with the attachments breaking. Trying to procure the attachments sometimes is not easy either as there has been times that there has been no stock in Australia and we have had to wait.

Great cold press juicer but bulky – Bought this juicer way back when all the fads for juicing was all over. As advertised, this juicer works like a charm when it comes to "cold press" juicing. It actually juices everything that we could think of in there and it dries the pulp almost dry. It has a lot of other nozzles and another processing strainer to make stuff like peanut… Read more

Qualms with this juicer is that it is bulky and heavy. Too many parts to assemble and disassemble to use and clean. It's been on storage for years now and haven't used it due to this.

reliable, easy to use and clean – This is a very good juicer if you know how to use it. I juice everything from hard apples and carrots, celery, broccoli, lots of ginger, oranges, and ripe pineapple. I put a folded towel on the table under it, this way it's much quieter. If you cut the produce thin enough, like long thing strips of carrots, you don't even need to use the… Read more ·  1

pusher, it will autofeed.

For ripe pineapples, oranges, you need to learn how to use it, put the pulp adjusting knob to 1 right from the start, and pump the juice out while juicing with the pusher which has a silicon ring (use the pusher to push air and pump the juice out), if it gets too full of pulp (above the auger middle), remove the adjusting knob temporarily.

Juicing greens is much easier if you put a tiny amount of oil in the hopper and use the pusher with the silicon ring to lubricate the whole tube.

The only issue I had was juice got into the motor bearing over time but I solved the issue myself (I wrote my solution on this page)

Don't expect your warranty claim to be honoured! – I've had the Oscar Neo for less than 2 years and the auger screw has broken while the machine was in use. Great investment! – I have had my Oscar Neo for over two years and I absolutely love it, I use it 3-4 times a week juicing a wide range of fruits and vegetables. It has a few pieces but it's easy enough to clean. The pulp filter isn't that great but I'm more than happy to do a second strain through a fine mesh strainer to achieve the consistency that I like. Overall I am extremely pleased with my purchase.  Show reply

Best cold press Juicer – The reason why I gave a good instead of excellent which it does deserve is because of the small tube to feed the fruit/veges down which sometimes clogs so as long as you prep the fruit/veges you are good to go.. Quiet, easy to use, sturdy machine – I bought this as I wanted a quiet cold pressed juicer. I got a floor stock model from David Jones for $399 cash and very happy with the quality of the juicer. very effervescent taste. Alternating between green leafy vegetables and fruit is the key.

Don't put into the dishwasher as I believe this voids the warranty. Easy to clean, it also makes great sorbet from frozen fruit, which is a refreshing change in summer. Have yet to try the pasta and nut butter functions.

Very happy with this product. I'm aware of the debate about whether the fibre being removed makes this inferior to other juicers that pulp everything together, it's a personal preference I believe.
