Love it, the old ones were/are solid – I love the juice this machine produces although sometimes it can be a bit pulpy depending on what you juice. I have the older white model oscar 900 I bought it in 2006, its 9 years old. The juicer strainer broke recently as my partner put coffee beans in and forgot to change it to the grinder attachment. I was very disappointed to see that Vital… Read more
Max have changed the original juicer part to all plastic The old ones had a stainless steel mesh and looked better and obviously less plastic to sieve through! I am still trying hard to hunt this part down but no luck. So I may look for a second hand model on Ebay as frankly I prefer the old one. The machine is so easy to clean which is the best part and also quiet operation. It functions quite organically and a pleasant change from high screeching cheaper juicers. Great juicer I'd recommend, and if Vital Max have not changed the machinery parts with the new model I would recommend it as it lasts for ages. I can't give a review for the new ones, I don't know how they compare with the old model. Juiced wheatgrass no problem, and carrot juice almost daily.
Brilliant - When it Worked – MIXED REVIEW: The juicer itself was excellent when it worked. I purchased it from Vitality4Life in Byron Bay. But it started smoking a few months after purchase. Up until that point I loved it and it had worked brilliantly. Had to return it to Vitality4Life at my cost ($40) for fixing. Got it back and same thing happened a few weeks… Read more
later. What a drama to repeat again. I asked for a new juicer under warranty and they said no. They just fixed it again. Needless to say the same thing happened a few months later.
Anyway after that fiasco the filter then broke. Presumed I could get a free replacement under warranty. But no I could not.
At that point, I put it in the back of the cupboard and it has rotted there ever since. $500 wasted. I know the brand is excellent. But the people I brought it from are not.
The "good" rating is for the product. Because when it does work it is really good. And Oscar have a good reputation in general.
But zero stars to Vitality4Life
Anyway purchased another cold pressed juicer (different brand) for $500 and love it. The only problems I have had in the past five years, are the filters breaking every few months due to daily juicing of carrots. But no problem, as they get replaced free of charge under warranty still.
Love this juicer, but it's not the fastest (and not meant to be) – I bought my Oscar juicer around 8 years ago online and have use it on and off in big chunks since then. My main uses for it is when I have engaged in juice fasts lasting from 3-10 days which required me to juice around 2L of juice to drink throughout the day. When buying this juicer it's important to understand that it is not meant to be speedy,… Read more
it uses a 'mastication' form of extraction which doesn't heat the fruit/veg and therefore theoretically preserves from enzymes and nutrients. And it also extracts much more from the produce than the super speedy centrifugal juicers that can fit in whole apples etc.
To be honest, it can be a pain to chop up everything into pieces that will fit. But I try to look for carrots that are slim enough to go straight in, and the rest of the stuff can be chopped easily. It will still take about half an hour though to process 2L of juice but that is using predominantly hard stuff like 2kg carrots, 6 apples, 1-2 beets, 1 lemon. I just turn it into a relaxing process and it becomes quite pleasant and methodical.
There is also a mincer attachment which you put in strips of frozen mango or frozen banana to make instant sorbet. I have recently had to replace that and have contacted Nature's Wonderland who I bought it from and have had a seamless transaction.
I still have a citrus press juicer and a couple a 1000W centrifugal juicer for lazy times (it came with my food processor). But for health and best value from your produce, I highly recommend to Oscar. Fantastic juice extraction, can make sorbet, maintains nutritional value in produce, easily replaceable parts through Nature's Wonderland and Sprout online, in future can use newer model attachments in the motor, motor has 29 year warranty Nothing really but it is time consuming... But the wait is worth it.

Oldie but a goodie – I've been given a second hand from a friend and we are using it everyday ~ absolutely love it - they may be discontinued but if you come across one grab it - you won't regret it :)! perfect addition to our kitchen for our growing little family and the kids really do love it! This is by far the best juicer that I've ever owned – It is easy to use and clean, I make fresh juice in large amounts twice a week without removing all the fibre. My grandchildren loved using it and make fruit and vegetable juices. Great way to get their daily requirements of fruit and veges. it's the best juicer that I have ever owned. I would and have recommended it to friends and work colleagues. Show details · 1
need a juice strainer – Fantastic machine producing the best juice . The flavour is exceptional . Problem is the juice strainer recently cracked and replacements are nowhere to be found ! I've tried everywhere and they are all out of stock . Clearly oscar needs to get onto production as this is a fault in the manufacturaing based on the reviews . Show details · 1

Burning smell grom the motor – This is a great juicer and awesome to use. Unfortunately the motor started smelling today like something is burning. Maybe it is time to throw it out. Any suggestions appreciated as it has been a good machine and makes fantastic juices . Easy and quiet to use . Sad it is now broken Show details
Front end cracks easily – We purchased our juicer 2 or 3 years ago. Its very slow but good quality juice. It officially died last week. The front end cracked twice in the time I had it. I had to order the whole front end replacements twice. Warranty doesnt cover anything. Vitality said I must of used it wrong. I have been juicing for 10 years and this is only my 2nd juicer… Read more
. My first one still works (different brand) I just wanted to try a new one. Last week I was juicing and it started smoking then stopped working completely. So I'm on the hunt for another one now (different brand), hopefully it lasts longer :)

Not happy – I am having a terrible time juicing with this machine. I have been using it for 2 years and now it takes me over 20 mins to get one glass of juice. I have been a juicer for over 25 years and this is putting me off juicing. It keeps clogging up and I have to clean and wash it twice between juicing one glass. I cut the Vegetables up so they almost automatically go through without having to push, so I am not doing it fast. Any suggestions ? Show details

Not worth the money – Nice tasting juice but that is where it ends as the strainers are of very poor quality. I had to replace my strainer after two years because of the plastic cracking. Replacement cost was way too high for the strainer and it broke again after a couple of years. Would definitely not use this product again, surely a better design could be achieved. The replacement date was 2 February for the strainer at a cost of $110. Show details

Great! – We bought a second hand one and love it......Easy to use and much easier to clean than other juicers we have used over the years. We liked it so much that we bought another second hand one for my son and he also loves it. I was at a swap meet the other week and spotted a near new looking one and bought that also....make a good gift to someone that wants to improve their health. Show details
We love Oscar :-) – Great juicer...but don't be in a hurry - it's quiet and very easy to clean. No issues so far, which is good considering the problems that some customers had with Vitality4Life...fingers crossed! We juice apples, beetroot, celery, garlic, ginger and kale as well as frozen banana and blueberries for sorbet. We use it about two to three days per week. Show details · 1

Good Machine – Love this Korean machine! Used almost every day when I am at home. The strainer got broken after almost 5 years. but the rest seems strong. Even though the warranty covers only parts that are fault from factory. 2 years or 20 years make much not difference since it is hard to see if the juicing strainer is broken for a reason or another after a… Read more

Unfortunately in Italy the customer service is not very fast and somehow more expensive than the rest of Europe.
Excellent – 5 years old and going great ,I work the guts out of this thing five mornings a week, it refuses to die. A bit slower than the cheapies that scream their heads off but a lot easier to clean. You have to cut the vegies smaller but its all about healthy living. I'm very happy with it. Show 2 replies
Love my juicer – Hello, I purchased a oscar juicer about 4 years ago & lovit! we use it every morning and sometimes more and oscar keeps on carrying on for us but the other day the strainer broke (catasrophy ) or so we thought but no problem, we purchased the replacement strainer part online & to our surprise we received it in 2 days so how cool was that....... Love our Oscar juicer, Regards, Judy Curd.
Excellent – Excellent machine, well worth the spend. I have made quite a few juices and it gets a lot of the juice out, the pulp is quite dry. If using a lot of juicy fruits such as I ranges you need to let the machine push through it others the juice will overwhelm the filtration. All in all 5 stars from me. Quality product.
Happy!!! – Very happy with Oscar VitalMax DA 900 juicer,my 2nd Oscar in about 16 years, might take a bit longer than some juicers but the juice is quality so worth it. Price has come down since my first juicer so that is great, warranty is excellent.
Can't fault it really! – After owning a centrifugal Breville for years Im extremely happy with my Oscar 900! Bought it 2nd hand but it is as new, works really well, quiet, what little pulp comes out is very dry! Looks great on the bench meaning I leave it out which inturn means we use it more!
Very good solid machine – Bought mine 2nd hand - must be the older version - and can only rave about it : very quiet operation, pulp comes out bone-dry, everything goes through on it. Love it!
Broken juice strainer – been happy with the juicer but after almost 4 years my juice strainer split along the left. I noticed the 5 year warranty on parts so rang Vitality4Life to get fixed. The girl said not usually covered as wear and tear, asked for me to send in photos and would get back to me. Still waiting, looks like from the comments here will have to pursue them to help out. Shame they don't have a better name for customer service. Show 2 replies
Precious little juice – Same as other user, friend has older unit and works fine. Our pulp very wet, and takes forever to re process to get juice. Carrots, 280g pulp & 28ml juice first pass. Second pass 55ml juice. Third pass 20ml and abt 120g of pulp. Assume rest of pulp is in strainer to create backpressure . First use we did 2.5 kg carrots, lemon apples and beetroot.… Read more

Excellent Product and attentive customer service – All good with mine. Had it now 2 years. Required customer assistance regarding the locking mechanism and had a phonecall returned by the close of day. An overall positive experience with much appreciation for my Oscar Show reply
Good juicer, but I broke my screen – Great juicer, but I accidentally broke my screen by using the handle of a wooden spoon to push the food in. The screw thingy caught the end of the handle and nipped it off sending it into the screen before I could switch off the juicer. There was an almighty crack! I wouldn't try to claim that under warranty since the juicer isn't meant to juice… Read more · 1
wood, but I had a heck of a time finding where I could buy a replacement screen. Finally found one on ebay that was delivered very fast. From now on, I will only use the food pusher.
Manufacturer does not honor guarantee – Consumer Law states the manufacturer needs to cover the cost of courier/postage if item is still under warrantee. Despite me reading them the returns policy, this company expected me to pay the courier to return the juicer for repairs under warrantee, until I used the services of Consumer Affairs to make them pay for transport. They paid but have no intention of changing their own policy, so fight for your rights consumer!
Exellent juicer but expensive – I find that this juicer is very good build quality but has one small problem it is not very efective at making nut bean or seed milks. My advice would be first buy a cheap slow juicer to see if you like this type of juicer then if you like it buy decent one like the da900 from vital max if you are not going to make milks or a vertical model slow… Read more
juicer of you are. excelent at juicing every type of fruit and veg I have put through it not good at milk making and expensive
Not as good as the older model – We have this juicer it produces little juice and the pulp comes out wet. Great product, shame about the Australian distributors Vitality 4 Life – Vitality 4 Life are absolute bunch of clowns, I bought my Oscar Vital Max 900 from a company in Melbourne who were very helpful. It was not until a threatened to take it to consumer affairs and social media that I got a response from someone higher up the food chain. Again I had to argue the point that we are not talking about an expensive part that is mass produced, we are talking a low cost part. The person on the other end of the phone explained to me that they have never had one fail before, my reply was out of the millions that are produced you have to have one fail every now and then. Finally when I stated that if there was not a problem you would not be hearing from me, you are hearing from me because there is a problem Vitality 4 Life decided to send me the part I required.
I would recommend this product to anybody, but if you can avoid dealing with Vitality 4 Life in any way do so ! Fantastic Juicer, pity about the distributor Vitality 4 Life Vitality 4 Life total bunch of clowns, they should provide service and stand behind their product
Love it, better than my last centrifugal juicer – I've done extensive research on juicers and learned about these masticating juicers. It was said these juicers are slower but having had a centrifugal juicer before I think it's not much of a difference as I found the VitalMax easier to clean. I love the juice and sorbets it makes. We've put in things like carrots, beetroot, ginger, garlic,… Read more
kale, apples, celery, lime and slightly thawed blue/straw berries & bananas to make sorbet. Alternated hard with soft produce and never clogged.
I tried making peanut butter but you need to add oil to make it spreadable whereas if you chuck the nuts in a food blender it will become smooth peanut butter after a while without having to add anything.
We purchased it from local health shop branded Vitality 4 Life and is chrome, not white as this example. We have had it for 6 months I think and we use it regularly. Very happy with it. Great taste, little froth, juices a large range of hard and soft produce, versatile, quieter than centrifugal juicer Pricy (but worth it)
Good juicer- Not great dealing with company – Dont mind the juicer, pretty slow and have to chop up things tiny. But my grinder broke and i registered the warrenty but the company were of course not going to help me, didnt get any one call like they said would, very slow getting answers, then because warrenty wasnt registered within 30 days they said i have no warrenty at all. companies like this. Its about helping customers and word of mouth. There goes 20 year warrenty down the drain. Still paid alot of money for this. the juice Vitality for life. bad warrenty service
Did you go to Fair Trading, they cannot refuse warranty because you didn't register.
Warranty not worth anything! – We purchased our Oscar 900 May 2012. Late 2012 we started having issues with juice flowing back into the mechanism where the juicing parts lock into the motor, causing difficulty in turning the locking clip; we addressed this by titling the machine forward to minimise this backward flow towards the motor and cleaning around the locking clip. 2013 the juicing strainer was found to be cracked when removed from the machine for cleaning. Vitality4Life Byron Bay NSW Australia will not honour the warranty - 5 years on parts and labour!.. They state: "I have had the photos reviewed by the service team and the crack is not deemed a manufacturing fault. Such faults are usually visible when first using the juicer as are displayed as hairline cracks or along the seams of the sieve on the strainers." They quote they will not honor the warranty for 'normal wear and tear'... considering 5 year warranty and we've only used it for 9 months, this seems unacceptable!...
Very Very Disappointed! No problems with juice produced. Bad warranty service!
same issue with me going to Fair trading ..... i would recommend you to.....
Pretty happy with mine so far – I bought this after very careful research both on here and over the Internet. I had a centrifugal juicer a few years ago and gave the thing away as it was more effort than what we were getting form the juicer. And a pain to clean. The Oscar is easy to use and clean. easy to clean. It would be an added accessory if the trays came with a strainer if the user didn't any the pulp. Pulp was very dry. Easy to clean and use. Excellent warranty A strainer for the containers would have been useful for those who don't want any pulp.
Useless – Juicing strainer keeps cracking almost impossible to get spare as must go on all machines hence you will see they are out of stock if you try to buy anywhere. guarantee is a joke! have tried almost all companies and they are all out of stock with juicing srtainer! very disapointing Juicing strainer

Love it! – Love my oscar! Can't believe anyone would complain about it! Yes, with pineapple and oranges, you generally need to take the skin off, but virtually everything else can be juiced with the skin on. difficult to eat some fruits and vegetables. This is the best way to ensure you're getting enough nutrients, and i would recommend one to all people with a lapband. Very filling too, if i'm having a 'bad' day and can't seem to eat much, perfect thing to have.
A disappointing expensive purchase – I bought an Oscar VitalMax 900 because of the 'excellent' guarantees of 10 and 5 years for the different parts. I recently removed the front end, via the four screws for a thorough clean, and to my horror could see the white, plastic casing was all cracked, in a circle, hidden from view, under the turning part. years and used it regularly, but not every week; but the blurb did say made to last for life. Well, according to Vitality 4 Life the casing is not a part of the juicer, so not guaranteed! V 4 Life are full of praise for themselves and their products, but I would not recommend buying anything from them. It was a very expensive item but they are not interested in Customer Service aftercare. Juices ok. The white plastic casing has cracked in a circle under the turning part. Guarantee is worthless.
