Awesome blanket – Wife and I used ours for ages. Left it off over summer. Switched it on during some cold nights but only had a "P0" on control unit display. Any explanation. Otherwise this is an awesome blanket!!! Show details

Wasted money – Turned on 2 hours before going to bed, did not heat up at all. What a total waste of money, I require the heat to assist with a chronic back problem, this was a bad choice

Keeps us WARM at night! – We searched around for electric blankets and suddenly received an email from Kogan/Dick Smith advertising the Ovela electric blanket. We've bought items from Kogan/Dick Smith in the past and have always been satisfied with the product specifically the price (usually always cheaper than other suppliers). So we chose this one and have not look back since. Show details

Don't buy it - 3 broken in less than 12 months – The two queen size blankets did not make it through the first winter. The king size made it one month into the second winter. The electricals failed on all of them, unable to turn on, and flashing lights on the controllers. Throwing all three out within 12 months, absolute crap, don't waste your money Show details

Poor quality junk – Bought a three pack of these for the kids. Two of them failed after about 12 months. Waste of money. I am very dubous about kogan products (failed remote controls on three previous home theatre products) and this confirms my concerns regarding quality control. Show details

Cheap junk – I purchased my Ovela electric blanket last August. It has only been in use since late autumn. Now it has failed just one month after the warranty elapsed. Although Kogan customer support disagree, I do not consider 13 months a reasonable period of time for a product like this to stop working. I have made multiple purchases from Kogan in recent years; I won't be making any more.  Show details

Very good budget electric blanket – Our previous electric blanket only lasted 4 years, which is a tad short in my opinion. I went looking for a new one and nearly ended up spending well over $100 on a king size one before I stumbled on the reviews for this. Kogan is the store I love to hate, but I have to admit that this is one of the better things I've bought off them. It has… Read more

9 heat levels (no idea why, you'll never tell the difference between two adjacent heat settings - 3-5 settings are plenty imho), plus a boost setting which takes you up to heat level 9 for 30 minutes before dropping you back to the previous setting - very handy! It could only be improved if it was a bit quicker, and if it automatically went to boost every time you turn it on (why would you NOT want to boost a cold bed every time?).

The blanket is comfortable, we have it under a thin mattress protector and I haven't felt any wires yet. Auto off timer is handy also: defaults to 12 hours but you can change it to 1.5 or 3 hours (not 1, 3, 5 and 12 as Kogan's website claims).

If it were $89 I'd say it was about on par with other blankets in the price range, but when I discovered I could get it for $59 delivered, I was sold. Very happy.

Pros:

- Warm enough

- Boost mode

- Comfortable

- Easy to use, detachable controllers

- Machine washable

- Unbeatable price, free delivery

Cons:

- A little slow to warm up, even with the boost

Worth for the price – Good blanket for the price. It has 9 heat settings but takes time to heat up. After it heats up the blanket is very comfy. I would suggest turning on the blanket at least 30 minutes before going to bed.  Show details

Perfect. Perfect. Perfect – This electric blanket is a life saver in the cold Tassie winter. Bought it online through Kogan, fast delivery and too easy to put on. The settings on this electric blanket range from 1 to 9. Also, there is a setting to speed up/boost the heating. I usually set it on level 3 - 5 and its toasty hot for those cold winter nights. Has 3 timer… Read more

settings( 3hrs, 6hrs, 12 hrs) included and it will switch off by itself. The only cons is that the position of cord for the fitted blanket is awkward. Otherwise, highly recommended.

A must have – This electric blanket saved me during the freezing winter nights this year. I never owned one before in my life and I can easily say it's one of the best buys I have ever bought. It has 9 heat settings! and a timer. Fitted to my bed well and washable ( which is a huge plus) Would highly recommend.  Show details

Don't know why I didn't buy one earlier – Just finishing up with my second winter using this blanket. It makes me wonder why I didn't purchase one earlier. I do agree with some of the other reviews. The cord connection is at about shoulder height (when laying down) on the upper surface of the bed. If you sleep close to the edge, this can be a little uncomfortable. The heating coils… Read more

themselves though you don't even notice, except for the nice warmth.

It has a 1-9 hour timer on it which is handy. I normally select boost before bed, then let it automatically drop back to it's lowest setting over night.

It's a great item – It's a great product, has all the appropriate functions that I require to heat the bed. It is a fitted type electric blanket which makes it easy to apply without the messy tangled tabs. It is also machine washable; therefore easy for refreshing - when the time comes for storage for next season. The auto switch off is a plus.  Show details

Happy with it – I have had the blanket now for about 11 months and it has worked very well. The feel of the cord up near the pillow is a little annoying sometimes, but other than that, which can be fixed by adjusting the pillows, there is no real issue. I haven't had to remove the cords to wash the blanket, so can't really comment on that aspect. Can't really complain for a King size EB under $47! Fantastic value I say.  Show details

Not too bad – I bought it for winter. It keeps us warm in winter. However, I don't like the cord, when we lay down, we can feel the cord. Anw, it's worth for its price.  Show details

Easy to use – This blanket has some great features. The cords are removable so that it can be washed.. Also, there is a timer on this blanket so once you get into bed, you don't have to worry about remembering to turn it off or wake up in a sweat. Highly recommended!  Show details

Worth a shot – For the price you pay for it on Kogan it is a wonderful product. I got this along with my king size 1000tc sheets and it works wonders. It does take a little while to heat up and its a shame that the timer settings don't go up in 1h interviels otherwise it is a great bargain.  Show details

At last a blanket that hasn't failed! – I had 3 previous blankets become defective inside the first 3 months after purchase, and this was my final hope! Pleased to say it's still functioning well 6 months later, and is very warm. I love the bonus heat feature which warms the bed up very quickly, and the fact that the temperature selected stays held for about 12 hours. Found the size… Read more

of the blanket (double) a bit big for my double bed for some reason - perhaps it's meant to fit Queen sized mattresses as well, but it is a bit annoying when the wires get too near to the bed edges. I have to watch they don't go over the mattress sides and bend. Other than that, an okay blanket!

Love it – My partner and I bought two of these recently and I can't live without it in winter now. Our heater use has diminished since getting these. It's lovely to sleep on top of it underneath blankets in winter and, the heat helps to relieve muscle pain/tension. The only one flaw I could note about it is that it takes a while to heat up sometimes, though, when you put it on "boost", it does get faster.  Show details

It's a budget product that performs like a budget product – Firstly - it works. Neither poorly or perfectly. Positives: - It works and its warm enough (With a few catches) - Cheap - Fits deep mattresses fairly well - Arrived quickly Negatives: - Its a tad lumpy and the wiring is cumbersome - Electrical inserts are too far inside the blanket and are chunky! - Takes an age to warm up - You… Read more

have to run it on flat out to get any sort of heat into the bed

Admittedly having mentioned the above. I dont use it often (only for a cold partner) and it was cheap! Worth a look if budget conscious.

Finally - a good one!! – After experiencing great disappointment with Sunbeam brands, another electric blanket has been purchased for my elderly mother and, after a months use, all seems to be just perfect. A very good electric blanket – This electric blanket is much better than the one it replaced. We bought the king size bed one. It has two separate controllers which are detachable if and when you don't need to use them. The controllers are easy to operate. The heat level and timer are easy and can be set up quickly. Highly recommended.  Show details
