Absolute waste of money, do not purchase – Very rarely works. Complete waste of money and I wish I could give 0 stars. This was a gift and has worked intermittently since my baby was born last June and now has finally completely given up and will not connect to wifi at all. would go back into the app my wifi wouldnt pop up? But the wifi was connected to the camera monitor so it was clearly working, and the wifi button on the back of the base station was grey. Days later now when I try to set it up in hopes it will work owletsock won’t come up in my wifi selections in my settings app and when i go back onto the owlet app it comes up with “ something went wrong check permissions ensure local network is enabled” which it is but the green light for the wifi on the back of the base station is now green which means it’s connected to wifi but not my wifi as the sock isn’t paired to my phone at all. I’ve deleted my account and tried to all re do, I’ve restarted my wifi, I’ve done everything and nothing is working. I’ve even tried to set it up on my partners phone but same problem. Waste of $700.

house to check on baby than wait for the camera picture to load, which is what I've been doing. USELESS and I'm extremely disappointed. What's the point if I can't leave the baby's room?

can actually get it to connect your child has likely been crying for minutes. I mean this is so unreliable that I don't see a point in having it. Because if it fails to connect it's worthless and it constantly disconnects.

I'm basically returning this within 4 hours of opening the box.

Oh and just for anyone who's paranoid, the device connects as China Dragon Technology Limited. And, while I did not inspect the traffic (threw it right back in the box) it seems like it's probably connecting to some other server.

All in all, do not get this thing. It looks good, great box. 250$ for this is a crime. What were they thinking???

Great camera, easy to use – This camera was gifted to me with the smart sock 3 as part of a package. We have had no issues with the camera connectivity, video quality or audio quality. It has worked well for me. Being wifi connected, I can check my monitor wherever I am which is helpful doing stuff outside. No issues with the app, using both the android and iPhone apps. This works well with the smart sock 3.

Code as the current one sucks horribly. It will never scan the bar code properly and will give me such a headache even if I am changing the wifi. If I can give a negative star to this product, I seriously would have.

Do not buy! Connection turns of often – I’ve never liked this from the moment I got it. Always lags & have to close app often to make it unfreeze. noise playing). The monitor had gone “offline” so I couldn’t hear him cry through my phone. I had a notification from 15minutes ago saying sound detected, so my baby had been crying for 15minutes :( And no it’s not our wifi connection, we have very good wifi&service here- I’ve seen a lot of reviews the same, that it constantly disconnects.

Update- it’s happened the past 3 nights in a row. I brought this for peace of mind, but I definitely do not have that with this product.

The WiFi in our home is exceptional, with four access points located through the home. All other devices perform flawlessly… except for Owlet. So, if your WiFi is anything less than commercial grade, you can forget Owlet. It will drive you completely mad.

Another issue we have is occasionally the camera will disconnect from the WiFi in the middle of the night all together. Even a restart of the app doesn’t fix it. Of course, you have no idea this has happened as you were probably asleep, and you really want to hope that nothing happens to your child in that period of downtime. What *should* happen is the app should sound an alarm to bring this to your attention so you can go and power cycle the camera to allow it to reconnect.

But wait, I am saving the best ‘til last. If you’re planning on having more than one child this will really shape your decision on buying this product. I recently discovered that you can add two cameras to one account. Great, that means we’ll be able to monitor both kids at once. Wrong! You can only view one camera at a time! So essentially Owlet have decided to play some sort of weird and twisted game where you have to select your favourite child on any given night, and have their camera audio on ‘background’ so you can listen out for them in case they need assistance. The other child can cry for help all they want, but you won’t hear or see them.

So you really have to ask yourself, what’s the point in having a camera for each of your kids. This is a massive shortcoming, considering my Ring home security app allows me to view all cameras in a single view… it’s definitely possible, but Owlet don’t seem to think that’s a feature you’ll need, or their software developers don’t know how to implement it, because it’s a bit of a no brainer.

Considering the cost of this product, there are some significant oversights, and it falls short in many areas.

Disappointing.

Terrible terrible terrible. Please do not buy this garbage – The whole point of a baby monitor is to alert you when the baby wakes up, or give you piece of mind if you want to check on them. like “video clips” just flat out don’t work. We had a power outage during the day and I wanted to test it to see if it would reconnect automatically, it didn’t. Save yourself a LOT of money and frustration and just go with a normal video monitor. We have an $80 video cam that we have as a backup (because you will 100% need a backup if you get the Owlet) and it has never once failed. A baby monitor needs to be reliable always. This just misses the mark by miles.

Great when it actually works – Camera is a great design, clear footage and audio. The app drops out about every 6th or 7th time we use it and cannot be fixed unless you unplug it and plug it back in which you’ll have to wait until your baby wakes to do. Very frustrating. with the sound on so you don't have to have the video on through the night (before the update you had to have the video on the entire night to hear bub). The wall mount is thoughtful as bub would pull it off the wall of you couldn't stick it off to the side. You can look at the cam remotely if you're away from the house and multiple people/phones can log on to see bub (before the update you couldn't do this).

CONS: You can only wall mount it. You may be able to sit it on a flat surface but might need bluetac. It's not portable unless you can connect the cam to wifi. Connecting to the video feed is impossible sometimes. You will need to try to re-open the app multiple, multiple times!! It is super frustrating when baby is crying and you can't open the video. When the app is running in the background with sound on it shuts down almost every night (even when I have set this app on my phone to not close) so you can't hear bub through the night unless their loud crying down the other side of the house wakes you up and you realise the dumb app has closed! Only connects on 4G, doesn't work with 5G.

They are the main items. I've contacted Owlet about the issues and all they tell me is to reset the camera. I have done that, and a factory reset, re-paired, uninstalled the app and re-installed. Nothing helps. The only reason I'm using this dumb camera is cause I want to try and get some use out of it as it was gifted and isn't cheap. I DO NOT RECCOMMEND THIS CAMERA.
