Zero help, complete rip off
I went for an apt today at 2:10pm as I was experiencing pain in a tooth that I had root canal treatment in over 10 years ago. After doing an X-ray I was told I had 3 options; shave the tooth down to help with pain,
referral to endodontist or extraction.
Zero options that helped with my current pain. I asked if the tooth could be opened and cleaned out or something to help get rid of the pain while I wait for an endodontist apt. I was told sorry no that would probably take 2.5 hours to get through the cement from the RCT and she was completely...
If I could write a zero star I would
Totally useless staff at brookvale
had a appointment and half an hour later I’m still sitting there waiting- reception said oh maybe five more minutes. So I walked out useless why make a appointment if they won’t keep it
Commission Based Employees
Had a filling done that took 40 minutes without x-rays, cost $500.00. 5 months later It fell out and they wanted $250.00 to replace it. They then gave me a quote to have a porcelain crown instead, item number 615 at $1,783.00. Thought I would shop around and with only 1 call I found another dentist who has an excellent reputation nearby who quoted $1,563.00 on the same item number. Gave Pacific Smiles a call and asked if they could match that price and they were not negotiable. Overall they were $210.00 more expensive on the same item number.
Made a 7yo child even more uncomfortable
After years of going to Pacific Smile Kotara, today will be our last. Kaye Kang was incredibly unprofessional and rude today and we will not attend again. My 7yo daughter was nervous about her checkup, instead of helping a young child’s anxiety Kaye Kang told my wife there are patients waiting and she doesn’t have time for this. She also questioned why my wife waited 6 months to see them as our daughter had 2 holes. On our last visit we were told to leave this until this visit, maybe you should check your notes. Disgraceful, no one should be made to feel this inadequate when visiting a dentist! You‘ve lost our family and everyone we know in the area will hear about it as well.
Can't properly charge and keep monetary mistakes in their favour instead of refunding
In my opinion this is a business that cares for itself and not its clients. It’s just a profit driven business.
I’ve been with them for years, however our recent coming together was a mess and remains so to this date.
I attended Pacific Smiles Waurn Ponds Victoria on 15 Dec 2020. Had some work done and their total was $580.00, my fund paid $285.80 and the remaining $294.20 was paid by me. I was shocked at the gap thinking it was very expensive and probably wrong.
On the 21st Jan 2021 an employee from Pacific Smiles rang me and told me that ...
Worst experience ever
My husband went in October for some fillings, clean up and mold where we spend over $3,000+ at Pacific Smiles Marrickville. When he went through the procedure and the dentist told him if he has any trouble come back anytime to fix it up for him. Few days after some of the fillings were coming off and my husband went back twice within the the next 2 months. Now in January two of the fillings came out again and we went back to see the dentist were the receptionist told us she will double check with her manager and she will be in contact soon to ...make an appointment. Days later he received a call telling him the dentist no longer works with them and they can't and won't do anything about it. I can't tell you how disappointed I feel about my experience. I did a crown with them and I had to come back too as it wasn't feeling right. I'm just glad I didn't take my children here. I do expect a call to fix the issue if not with the same dentist with another one to fix the work one of your professionals should have done properly the first time.
professional and helpful
Attended the Pacific Smiles at the Glen and staff is professional. would recommend them to my friends. The doctors are also well trained and knowledgeable and helpful. the place is also well maintained
please modify the policy, really inappropriate policy, front desk staff lost common sense
We 2 people went to the Browns Plains, I arrived a bit late but the other arrived 25 minutes BEFORE the appointment. We were canceled anyhow. Policy without common sense.
Rude, dissappointing and lacked empathy - Dr Purvi Shah - Mulgrave Pacific Smiles
Today when i saw my grandmother she was in lots of pain and had a swollen side of her face and a puffy eye. She was in a lot discomfort in her tooth which had a root canal done by another Dentist (who i believe is now on maternity leave) in December, she had a great experience with that Dr and was hoping to get her back today. Wehn she arrived at the dentist she had found out that she was on leave and another one was there instead who could help her.
Dr Purvi at around 10:30am, saw my grandmother come into the clinic, after my grandmother exp...lained she was in pain and discomfort the dentist told her they had no appointments and she was to visit another dentist if she needed help with the tooth as they were fully booked. My grandmother was a bit shocked and said she didn't want to pay another dentist (when firstly, this is her usual clinic & secondly, this was the place that had completed the root canal which was now causing her discomfort). My grandmother asked if there were appointments or anything that can be done or at least some antibiotics for the pain, which she was denied and asked to wait until Wednesday, where she has made an appointment with your clinic. When I spoke to my grandmother, I thought this was not best practice, as I attend Stud field Dental group and they handle emergencies when it comes to teeth and in particular the work they've completed, they will make the time to see their clients. I know this might be different at your practice, however I thought I would give the clinic a call and see if there was anything at all that could be done. I spoke with Dani at reception who was very helpful, she spoke to Dr Purvi and they then were ablet o make time between 230pm - 3pm to see her quickly, just to assess if she needed antibiotics and how serious the situation was before deciding on next steps. i was very optimistic about this and was very thankful that time was made to see her, given the pain she was in. My grandmother this afternoon called me in tears, she had just been to the clinic, she still had a puffy side of the face and under her eye, she had pain in her mouth and she wasn't well. She explained how the discussion went between them which I've outlined below: My grandmother mentioned that when she arrived at the clinic, and the Dr came out she was rude to her and had a mean tone of voice, where she seemed frustrated with my grandmother.
Hala has been exceptional. Hala explains all options available, pro and cons of each treatment. Very polite and efficient. Very accomodating
Works weekend which it is great as I am busy during the week.
Perfect service, great results
A little over a year ago, an impacted wisdom tooth caused my back molar to break. On the day, the dentist at the nib centre in Chatswood removed the wisdom tooth, but because they were so expensive and refused payment plans, I couldn't afford to have the broken molar removed as well (the dentist chose which to remove, which to leave). Last month, after all the COVID concerns were dealt with, I returned to discuss removal of the molar, too. The same surgeon (as apparently there is only one who does extractions at both Chatswood and one other Sy...dney based nib centre) made the choice to be super rude and arrogant. He deigned it appropriate to tell me that I was uncomfortable and in crazy amounts of pain last time (completely untrue - in fact on the day, he even commented about how much I was laughing!) and he refused to extract anything without at least a costly sedation and nothing would be 'in the chair'. He wouldn't listen when I try several times to tell him that throughout my surgical history, sedation has proven to not work for me. He talked over me repeatedly. He denied that he gave me a filling last time for the broken tooth when I mentioned it fell out only 5 hours later. He then went on to give me the options for extracting the tooth vs root canal. I was clear I wanted it removed, because I can't afford thousands of dollars - he was pushing for the more expensive. I wish I could give his name here because he clearly only wanted money and patient need to beware. He's the kind of guy who'll NEVER be at the top of his profession, because due to his skills, he believes he doesn't need a bedside manner and can treat anyone with disrespect. In addition to his expensive quotes, the receptionist then added a $600 'facility fee' which was made clear was not claimable and to be paid upfront. Worst part is this fee was completely made up. On the day, she stood there umming and ahhing about what amount to write down - then the nib call centre tells me they've never heard of a facility fee..!!! Yesterday, I went to the nib centre in Erina Fair - under the brand Pacific Smiles - to discuss options and avoid the rude money grabber. What a difference it makes to leave Sydney. The arrogance of Chatswood was counterbalanced with the complete empathy and patient focus of the dentist in Erina. He was a saint by comparison. His quote was about 35% lower than the motherf in Chatswood. They had no 'facility fee' at all - all in all they saved me about $700 compared to Chatswood. AND they offered to do it right there on the spot - yes, in the chair! The extraction was mildly complicated because of the hook in the root of the tooth, but he and his assistant made me very comfortable the entire time. They were all about me and getting my job done as painlessly as possible, whereas Chatswood sees the current patient as an inconvenience preventing them from getting to the money of the next patient. The healing process is going very well - only 24 hours later, but the pain has subsided, no discomfort or sensitivity, swelling from infection has already gone. And, he even made sure that I was charged the cheaper option because, while it was a little complex and took a little longer than usual, there was no reason to see it as 'major'. From reception on the phone to surgeon to post op follow up - Erina Fair was amazing! I was very hesitant being that it's nib dental and Chatswood has marred them for me, but I think I've found my new dentist, to be honest. They were just that great.
I was appalled by the lack of empathy today at Erina pacific Smiles , I felt I was treated like nil of importance and not the slightest of sympathy..won’t be going back
No care given
I had my teeth cleaned. Got home to have a look and still had all the stains on my teeth. Not very caring as i was told " i don't care what you do about your teeth" by the dentist. YOU NEED TO CARE.
Front desk staff very rude. Will never go back.
Had to give a star but no stars is my rating
Over serviced and damaged teeth
I was advised by my health fund AHM to go to this dental practice as it offers free check up, cleans etc for members. My regular dentist retired so decided to try here. I have never had any problems with my teeth and all of a sudden I was told I needed many $$$$$$ of work done. Since getting treated there I can no longer chew food on the side the dentist worked on as it is sensitive and hurts. This wasn’t a problem prior to my appointment. Not only that it cost a lot of money. Now I am booked into a different dental practice to fix the damage and do what actually NEEDS to be done. Very disappointed and hard to trust people when you feel you have been taken for a ride.
Cannot fault service
I have been a patient of Dr Manani for the past 7 months and can honestly say I cannot fault him or the practice. Professional and understanding and provide a high level of care. I am a regular visitor to the practice due to the work I am having done and they are always accommodating. I have recommended my whole family attend the practice, which they have, and will return.
Won’t be returning
Have never experienced such a painful dentist. I can’t remember his name but he was so painful when doing an x/ray and seemed to be In such a hurry and couldn’t care less. It was such a bad experience I will never return. And super expensive.
The most wonderful experience
I went to Pacific smile dental at Gungahlin and Dr Marc Brady was outstanding. He made my 4yr old daughter very comfortable, kept her entertained, gave a great service and advice.I would like to highly recommend him and the clinic to everyone.
Worst practice ever
Worst actual dental ever. In and out in 15 minutes..... worst ‘polish’ ever, 10 seconds not even half my teeth were ‘polished’, my last dentist paid careful duty to all teeth.
Didn’t even remove plaque.
Expensive and no care
I got a filling from Lake Haven, seemed to be in a hurry, the damage to my gums from the X-ray, hurt more than the filling, didn’t wait for the local to take effect and double the price I normally pay. Though receptionist very friendly
Excellent service from Receptionist to Dentist
Yesterday I phoned the Wagga surgery as I had a broken tooth, I was able to attend a few hours later.
The tooth was in poor condition and decayed Dr Tracy Jayaraj x-rayed it and advised to remove the tooth.
I had no pain post procedure, 100% from me start to finish
Questions & Answers
Hi I am Robert. I need a crown on my back tooth. What is the cost and do you give pensioners a discount.
Why bother to say you are open Sunday for emergencies when there is no dentist there despite your website saying it is available for emergencies? And no appointment was available until Tuesday - how useless is that? Particularly as the patient has dementia and does not understand the concept of waiting in pain to see someone.
Can anyone recommend a nice patient dentist at Pacific Smiles Bongaree Bribie Island QLD?I have a phobia about having extractions even though I am now mature age. I need to have one tooth removed and I have been putting it off. Any recommendations appreciated.
