Fantastic assistance by staff member Maryanne at the Sydney city store. She helped me fix my walking poles over the phone, saving me a trip from the Blue Mountains. Maryanne explained how I could fix the problem myself with a simple adjustment, saving me $$ to replace the pole. I can’t thank her enough as we are leaving next week for a Camino walk. Thank you Maryanne.
Had problem with online payment, so called the hotline instead. Was helped by Bianca i think, friendly helpful, knowledgeable and items was received 2 days later! Great service and good range online, keep it up.
I love the store and the products. Most of the staff are really nice but there are some who seem judgmental but I will still shop here Show details

Megan at Seven Hills is a gem customer service pro! Nothing is too much in terms of questions and inquiries! A true delight when dealing with her and her team mates! Bought these items over last few days and can’t be happier!!!!
I bought a pack from the online store that was on the larger size and emailed their CS team to enquire about the availability of a smaller size. Daniel specifically was very proactive keeping tabs on when the smaller size would come into the warehouse. It was a very serendipitous moment that 4 mins prior after giving them a call that Daniel… Read more
themselves picked up my call AND was informed by the warehouse that they had found a smaller size for me! News of this made my day!
Their customer service support online and in-store are unparalleled. Everyone I've interacted over the years have been mightily professional, helpful and kind. Paddy Pallin is my one stop shop and my gateway to the outdoors and I hope they can continue upholding their standards in the future.

Jack, Keithy and Chaima in city store were superb as let me exchange for a price match with ease and class…..so honourable and empathic compelled to buy more as such a pleasure to shop there. No other business in this industry comes close with the quality and class of both its people, purchase policy and product line. I would know as spent… Read more
thousands in the last couple of weeks. Less than 24 hours North Face trails shoes in my hands in Sydney from interstate and trusted me to pay on pickup as clearance item. In total bought 5 shoes.
An accidental rip when opening package! – I bought a beautiful great quality shirt for a treck in Uganda from Paddy Pallin but when I used the scissors to cut the top of the package, the garment was very close to the top and I nicked a hole in the shirt. I never thought I'd get a replacement but, yep, a total replacement. I thought perhaps I may get a discount on the order of a second shirt but certainly wasn't expecting such good customer service. Highly recommend!
Customer Service 5 Star – Reported problem with item received and sent photo. Email answered immediately. Replacement posted that day and item received the following day. They can't do better than that
Check your receipt before you leave the store! – I purchased several items during the recent "20% off everything" for members sale. The shoes I bought (in the Sydney store) had a sign up saying "30% off" (confirmed by the sales assistant), but it turns out they only gave me 20% off - which I didn't realise until I got home. Their email help wasn't helpful. I guess because the website had some… Read more
of these shoes at 20% off, and some at 30% off (depending on size). So, don't rely on their cashier system properly reflecting any bargains indicated by signs on the floor. (Incidentally, their website is also misleading - with original price, discount percentage and a final price which doesn't always include the full discount - again, I think, because they have started to give different discounts for different sized shoes).
Ryan, the most helpful salesperson! – My wife and I went to the Bourke St Melbourne store to get fitted for backpacks after recently being bitten by the hiking bug and getting sick of borrowing packs from friends. We weren’t there to buy today, but Ryan was super helpful, patient and full of advice and hiking anecdotes. We will definitely now buy at Paddy Pallins, Ryan is a credit… Read more
to the store and gave brilliant advice and options. We’ll also be looking for new sleeping bags once the packs are done - definitely will be purchased from Paddy Pallins.
Hiking Boots – I bought Scarpa hiking boots and they matched my interstate quotes. Great friendly service. I was happy i could support a local business. 240 Show details
Excellent in store experience – I visited the Brisbane store recently and was expertly fitted for a hiking pack by Demelza. She knew the pack well and showed me all its features to help me make my choice. Meticulous attention was paid to the fit, and how ever many adjustments were needed, were made. Once I'd committed to the purchase, and I explained that the pack was… Read more
available at another store cheaper, Demelza checked this, and price matched. I also had a refund for return processed that day and an order for an out of stock item, all of which was handled efficiently and promptly. There was an issue with my online account, Sean fixed this for me and gave me some tips regarding a tent I purchased that day. Fast forward a couple of days and I spoke to Tom on the phone regarding the out of stock item I had paid for. He was able to tell me that it would be dispatched from Melbourne later that day. This was my first in person shopping experience of this store and despite it being very busy on the day, I received attentive and efficient service, with all questions I had answered comprehensively. Overall it was a very positive shopping experience (one I have had at other Paddy Pallin stores also) and this store will be my first to visit whenever the need arises. The staff are efficient, knowledgeable, attentive, do not pressure shoppers which all makes for a very positive experience. Thanks Team Paddy Pallin, Brisbane.
The camping, hiking and customer service experts – The service and expertise provided by Jacob was outstanding. Jacob was very patient and spent a lot of time in selecting and fitting me with the perfect backpack for my first overnight hike. He put weight in the backpack and expertly showed me how all the straps worked and how to adjust the backpack for any possible future variations in the weight… Read more
of the backpack or myself for that matter. I probably spent more money than I expected to but it was worth it so as to have a product that will do what it is meant to do and not have to return it which is so disappointing when you are so excited and eager to try a new adventure. In the recent past a bad experience with a so-called 'camping expert' store led to a cancelled trip due a bad fitting backpack and non-existent customer service. To have someone as knowledgeable as Jacob at Paddy Pallin to sell you the right product not only put the excitement and adventure back into my dream but gave me back some trust and confidence that there really are sales people who care about the customers' needs and dreams no matter what the customer demographic is. I don't know how many 67 year old female novice want-to-be hikers young Jacob has had to outfit but he did it with a straight face and much professionalism. What a difference the real 'camping experts' can make to a person's day and dream. Thank you Paddy Pallin - Jacob is a keeper.

Osprey rucksack/wheelie bag – I would like to thank the assistant for his outstanding customer service. I highly recommend shopping at this store. Show details
Disappointing experience – I phoned my local store to atrange a gift voucher ($200) to be emailed to my son interstate. Was told I needed to contact the company’s ‘e-corporate services’ which I did. Waited 15 mins & because of high customer calls was asked to leave my request & phone number & they would call me back, which I did. Two days later i hadn’t received a call… Read more
back. I then contacted the Paddy Pallin store in my son’s state to organise a voucher he could collect from the store. I was told this was not possible. My son is a Paddy Pallin member and was intending to make a $500 purchase but because of my experience I ended up depositing the money directly to his bank account & he spent it on upgrades to his 4WD. Very disappointing lack of service.
Great customer service – My original online order was shipped in two parcels. The first one arrived without an issue and the second one arrived as an empty bag. I contacted Paddy Pallin customer service by phone and explained the situation and an upcoming trip I had to following week. To ensure I had my item in time, a replacement was delivered bya Paddy Pallin employee, that evening. I wasn't expecting this and was truely impressed by the level of service offered.
Returned without drama – I will say when one has to return something to a store, one does so with trepidation because you're unsure of the response you'll get. I had purchased an item 3 weeks earlier where the stitching had started to fail, so, armed with my receipt, I presented myself to the front desk at Bourke St. To my relief, the matter was dealt with professionally,… Read more
quickly and without question. My item was replaced after having filled in the appropriate paperwork. Thank you to the staff involved for the fact my heart rate did not rise above the usual level.
Paddy Pallin sorted my issue kindly and quickly -- Strong recommend – After an initial misunderstanding, I spoke to George at Paddy Pallin HQ and he corrected my issue immediately and was so receptive and kind. I can strongly recommend shopping here for all your travel and camping needs and will be ensuring everyone I know hears about my positive experience.
Paddy Pallin online experience – I receive a credit memo say stock error & refund few days after I order, and don't have other solution. and take few more days for refund.
Great people to do business with – First class operation, I found online staff responsive, my issue was resolved quickly with little fuss, return form, and postage lable arrived within minutes. Highly recommended.
Great store, if only they had a concept of express delivery – Everything’s great apart delivery - they’ll happily pick your order for a week even if you pay for express post. No, they don’t warn about that. So, don’t spend any extra, you are not getting it any faster.
Constructive criticism – As a long time very complimentary customer of P P’s in Perth it’s been extremely disappointing to be served twice in the last three months by the same sullen (wish you’d just go away) sales person. So, sadly after always having you as my ‘go to’ place for hiking gear like Scarpa boots, Mont rain jacket, Osprey Day Pack I won’t bother you again. I hope the attitude and service can improve or more long term customers will shop elsewhere.

Had them 20 + years and they are still going strong – Having paid well over $200 for these boots over 20 years ago I gulped at the time. They are however still going strong, still have amazing support and no water has ever reached the inside of them. I haven't been able to see them in a hiking store since, and that I cannot understand given that they have lasted so incredibly well. The only part I replaced was the shoe laces. the sole is a Vibran replaceable and has not even required a check up.
Great phone and in store service – I was after a Petzl 350 lumens headlamp which has an excellent white light and 3 levels of brightness, the headband is extremely comfortable. I rang and they had only one in the shop which the put aside for me in 2 days time. At the shop extremely heapful and just perfect service.
Good service in store but not online – I have received good assistance while buying in store. However, I ordered water bottles, socks and liners online and received the goods promptly but unfortunately not the items I wanted. Water bottles are not the same as on the website and the liners are in wrong size. I called them and was told to send the goods back using their reply paid… Read more
address. Not happy as I sent last Thursday and they still not received on Tuesday. Surely, it is due to Australia Post's snail mail but if they sent me the right products in the first place, I would not have to wait. Will have to try other online stores in future.
Helpful, friendly and a good range – Whilst not as large as some other stores, my experience has been very good (Perth City store only). The staff have always been friendly, helpful and quite knowledgable about their product range. The product range, while not extensive is of good quality with well known brands and well priced (when on sale the pricing can be very attractive!)
Great service – Went to Fortitude Valley store looking for a new hiking tent. Staff offered assistance in timely way but not pushy. They had a tent they recommended and set it up for me even though I said I was going to also check other nearby shops. Explained features of tent but no hard sell. Left to check other shops and came back to buy. Staff member was… Read more
knowledgeable, listened to what I needed (so didn't waste my time with unsuitable products) and was friendly without tying me up longer than necessary. Great range, knowledgeable staff, great service
Good stock and sale prices but slow postage for online sales – Great choice and prices but postage was slow after being put in the wrong post box which meant insurance was void and instead of being express post it took a while. The second item turned up 2 weeks later with no email advising of any delays. Quite disappointing in the age of internet shopping especially when you can buy from overseas and get items quicker! Range and prices Slow postage
Great products/Great people – Not as big a range as some outdoors stores but a good solid product basis and an easily navigatable site. Also very worthwhile keeping an eye regularly on the site as they throw down some great bargains. I've bought the Ktena range of thermal baselayers and been really happy with them. Very well made and quality fabric. Yes, there's been a… Read more
couple of hitches, however the team there are very responsive and work to rapidly resolve any dispatch product errors. Dispatch by the way is very fast and they sensibly include paperwork if you need to return. Freepost immediately offered to return any incorrect item(s). I waivered giving them 4 or 5 stars because things (human error) happens and the PP team don't delay in resolving for you. However, when you buy online you want things to be trouble free and have the right things there when you want to use them. No hesitation to recommend however. Great people. Quality items, fast dispatch, some great clearance bargains, excellent after sales service Couple of item errors

After some more compliant from me, their customer service got back to me and agreed to refund the overcharge. So, happy again :-).
