Fine cooling, atrocious heating – Had one of these installed 6 months ago. Cooling is acceptable. Heating is atrocious. The unit is likely built with cheap plastic, so as it heats up, it cracks constantly. As in, every 30 seconds. Not just the first time it starts, but constantly. As it works through ramping up and down, it cracks. So you're talking 3-4 minutes of cracking every… Read more
30 seconds, it runs for 4-5 minutes, then as it ramps down once it hits temperature, it cracks for a further 2-3 minutes. Then it'll kick on a minute or two later, and crack again. This will go on all night - for 8 hours. Impossible and distracting to sleep with, and has forced me to shell out another $300 for an oil heater to get through winter with a young baby. At the point of shelling out to get another brand put in, I'm so desperate. Panasonic also not helpful - they refer you to the manual and say 'it's normal'. No aircon I've ever been around makes this much offensive noise this often. The installer refuses to come out, and says it's normal too. Do not purchase under any circumstance.
UPDATE: I thought I was perhaps pedantic. In my desperation, I paid for a Mitsubishi Heavy Industries unit to be installed. Guess what? No cracking. So this isn't a 'consumer being particular' issue, this is a legitimate problem with this unit.
Superb quality and operation – I did quite a bit of research before settling on this unit. It is very quiet and powerful and cools the area we bought it for very quickly. The added wifi feature is very handy in that it allows you to turn on the unit remotely so that the house is nice and cool when you get home. Show details · 1
Noise out of control - DO NOT PUT IN BEDROOM – This product has massive problems with noise. Had it installed in the main bedroom (wall mounted) which should be avoided at all costs. At normal running the blades produce a helicopter noise and when the inverter kicks in it sounds like a car running under the bedroom window and wakes me up. Cooling works fine just not compatible for bedroom. Show details
Quiet and powerful – You will never go wrong in choosing this brand and model. So convenient to use and easy to find when you need to replace system parts. Aussie Airconditioning Pty Ltd installed this for us. Show reply
Heap of rubbish – We purchase a CZ- RZ71TKR 7.1kw 7 months ago and have been using it on the heat cycle over winter it. The fan cycles on & off ever 1 - 2 minutes and has a whiling noise also when it comes back on . We have been in touch with Panasonic since it was install. The local service agent who looked at it said he would not be happy with it like this as… Read more
it is above our heads and quite annoying but Panasonic say it’s right !!! Try having it above your head when trying to sleep and see what you would think . If the fan stayed on at the quite speed and did not go on & off I would be happy our other Fujitsu and Mitsubishi’s don’t do this. Would not buy another Panasonic again. Still arguing with them not good !!!! They will not send a representative to see us just keep stalling.
Fantastic 8kw air conditioning unit – We bought this split system air conditioner a year ago as we were advised we would need a powerful 8kw system due to wanting just one unit for the entire house and also having a high peaked ceiling in our open plan living area. Our house is overall fairly small (2 bed, 2 bath, office, laundry, and open plan living area) but with our high peaked… Read more · 1
ceiling, a standard smaller unit was definitely not going to be sufficient during the humid hot summers or chilly winters we get.
This air conditioner is perfect! It has all the features we expect, the controller is simple to use, and most importantly it doesn’t take long to cool or heat the house to a comfortable level.
It costs us around $40/month to run, using it for around an hour in the mornings and 1-3 hours at night during summer & winter. We're very happy with this cost for the comfort it affords us during the extreme temperature months. We also love that we can use it to dry the air, as the previous home owners had problems with mould due to humidity in summer, and the house having minimal sun and frequently being encompassed in fog and frost during winter.
We often use it on the lowest fan speed as this is plenty to adjust and maintain the temperature, but the higher fan speeds are there if we wish to speed up the cooling/heating on particularly bad days.
I don’t know how we’d have lived here without this air conditioner, by far the best investment we made during our renovations.
Great value, quiet – I bought this model about 6 months ago for my 3 bedroom investment property - great look (minimal facing), cools all main areas in the townhouse efficiently & the system is quiet enough to not disturb neighbours. Happy so far, scored a great price through powerland but installer said these parts run out quicker than a comparable brand so I’m hoping I won’t need them! Show details
Excellent quiet unit – Just had one installed in a bedroom. Quiet quality unit that has kept us warm on cold nights. We are happy with both the cooling and heating of this unit. Love the fact that it looks classy, it is very neat. It is a nice quiet unit in my opinion. The unit is very easy to use and we are very happy with its performance. Has kept us both cool and warm this year. Show details · 1

Cool Aircon – We enclosed verandah 14m x 3.6m that faces NW with double glazing so needed a aircon that would compliment the double glazing. Looked at Bunnings cheap'es but was told to stick with the top brands and this model was what was recommended to us. Have not had it long enough to test heating yet but the cooling has been excellent, unit is quieter than… Read more
the Fujitsu in parallel room. We still dont know what the "naneo-G" but who cares the little lady of the house is very happy.
Very poor energy rating – PLEASE NOTE! the model I'm reviewing is CS-RZ35TKR and NOT CS-Z35TKR as wrongly shown above title by Product Review system ( I can't change it). This unit has a very low energy star rating: 2.5 star for cooling and 3 star heating. Efficient unit should have at least 4 and 5 star (cooling/heating). Such a low star appliances should be phased out… Read more
and not be available for purchase any more. The only difference between this outdated model and newer one:
CS-Z35TKR (4 and 5 star) is the model number CS-RZ35TKR( one letter R), very misleading by Panasonic!
