Good unit – I have not had any problem what so ever with the heating and cooling functions of my unit, 10 years and still going strong. Compared to my mums inverter unit made by Mitsubishi it is hands down a better unit when it comes to the speed that it takes to heat and cool the areas.
Have a 2004 one in my new house cannot get it to work on heat and only small amount of air on cool – How do i operate the remote and is this unit worth spending money on to get it working? I have called my closest business to fix this unit but i dont have an operating manual and they are still able to get the parts for this system but i have noticed that this model has been discontinued but i guess it has been updated well and truly now. it looks good and is large not working
Wrong choice – I bought this after doing some research. It has the best specification comparing to other big brands like mitsubishi, daikin, and fujitsu. However it is noisy, doesn't coup up with cold temperature as the outdoor unit is busy defrosting itself for more than 10 minutes once every hour if the temperature is near 0 degree. The main reason I bought this is because it has air purifier as I am annoyed with the cooking
odor. But I don't think it can really purify air much. I am very disappointed with it. For any of you out there living in slightly cold climate please avoid avoid avoid this brand. Go for Mitsubishi or daikin.
Doesn't work well in slightly cold climate eg Christchurch.
Hi leok, thank you for you comments. But but but the other 3 big brands: mitsubishi, daikin and fujitsu all work well as far as I know. Christchurch isn't cold like new York or Toronto.
Bad – Their customer service has put me off purchasing from them again. The fact that their unit died within 3 years and they have a 5 year warranty is of concern also. Heats and cools just fine the fan controller board died at age 3. unfortuantely I had recentl;y purchased the house, complete with installed units and Panasonic refused to repair under warranty. Yes, they were within their rights, but for customer repeat business they have just turned me off purchasing their products again.

NO Reverse cycle heating works in very cold climates. Heating works by running the unit in reverse, the indoor unit gets hot and the outdoor unit gets cold. Below 5 degrees or so the outside unit ices over so the unit will cut out - it needs airflow to work.
Your problem is with the salesperson, not the aircon.
