Great when it’s working – I have two of these since about 2015 and have replaced the magnetrons twice in only a short time of one year with the dreaded H98 H97 error codes as I’ve seen a very common problem on you tube with a lot of Panasonic microwaves? and now again just done them and inverter boards? With our online cost of parts here then labour it ends up economically… Read more

unviable outweighing the cost of them which is unfortunately usually the all too common case with cheap Chinese crap out there these days in our throw away society and I expected better from a reputable brand such as Panasonic and also made in Japan? I have other Panasonic products that are very good. I have had a Sharp carousel microwave that has been going strong for over 20 years so I just bought a new Sharp combination one that hopefully goes the distance also? I also ordered some Chinese magnetrons and inverter boards from an online Chinese dealer like eBay called Allie express and repaired them again myself with the aid of YouTube so saved quite a bit there. So great when going but not very reliable for such a top end expensive reputable brand name that I have had other successful products by? I guess it’s just hit and miss with any of these electronics inverter technology units these days? The older transformer ones seemed much more reliable like most older machines built to last and repair not todays obsolete throw away society? Yeah disappointed Panasonic, surely the reviews tell a clear story on the reliability of this particular model? Looks nice and does a good job when working! Hope the newer versions are going better?

Fantastic product. I love it – I purchased this microwave from Leahy’s Retravision Warrnambool 12 years ago. I use it every day, convection, reheating, defrosting, grilling etc. Works wonderfully well. It’s never missed a beat. Fantastic product. I’m glad I spent the extra money to purchase a top of the line product. It’s still as good as the day I bought it. Show details ·  1

Nothing but trouble – Purchased Panasonic convection microwave in November 2019, first repair warranty repair Aug 2020 2nd warranty repair Sept 2020, 3rd repair was good will because it was 1 week out of warranty, this was an expensive item over $1000 for a inferior product, still doesn't work properly not what I expected from a high end product, very poor would suggest… Read more

you don't waste your money, at this rate we don't expect this oven to last the year, would probably not purchase any Panasonic products in the future, very disappointed, only good thing I can say is it looks stylish in the kitchen shame the insides let it down. Cannot recommend this convection.

Very good convection oven microwave – This is essentially a a 2-in-1 microwave oven (convection mode microwave) it's energy efficient and personally find I don't need to preheat as often as I would a regular oven. Very satisfied and have had no service issues in the 4 years I've owned it. Like anything, if you nuclear high heat food it will burn on the outside while the middle remains… Read more ·  1

Best and most used product in my home – Bought one for my daughters new home after having mine since Feb 2015 and never having a problem. Door screen did get cloudy but a dishwasher tablet helped to clear it. The turntable does get stained but it can be cleaned with bi-carb or other cleaning products. The best part is knowing that the grill or oven will stop after a set time and i… Read more

Expensive Junk – You'd expect a $1300 appliance to last a while... The turntable starts spinning as soon as I plug it in. No other functions work. What a rip off. Shame on you Panasonic. All the other reviews are answered by you saying contact a service centre.... Just more expense. Show details

Very disappointed with this model – My family owns a National Panasonic Dimension 4 Genius convection microwave oven since the late 80's. It works very well and is still working. We decided to get a new similar model (CD997S) in Nov 2016 and gave the old one to a friend. The new microwave oven works well for a couple of years and then it fails to heat intermittently with an error… Read more

code of H97. This new model that fails in such a short time (We are not a heavy user) compared to our old model really disappoints me. Our replacement Samsung microwave has been operating flawlessly for the last 2 years and it costs less that $200, compared to Panasonics $1000.00. Would not recommend this model.

We got a dud! Panasonic buyers beware! – We had this microwave previously and loved it, no issues or dramas. Functionality was great, heated food evenly, as an oven even outperformed our rental oven! We had that Microwave for 5 years and the only thing we had to fix was the drive belt that turned the ceramic turn table plate. Unfortunately it got damaged in our last removal and was… Read more

replaced by the removalist with a brand new one. Everything was clocking along fine until about the time the warranty was out (it has a 12 month warranty), the microwave shorted out the house. We rang Panasonic and gave them all the details and they gave us the information of the authorised repairer. So we dropped it off for repair, low and behold it was the inverter. All fixed no dramas. About a month later the microwave shorted out the house again. We rang Panasonic and they said get in contact directly with the repairer, we did, and they fixed it again....same problem...inverter. Another month went by and low and behold, the house was shorted out again. This time though was where we started to get the run around! To keep things short we were told by the authorised repairer that we should contact Panasonic and get a new microwave as it was something else that was causing the inverter to go that they could not fix. When contacting Panasonic they started the push back. 1. We need you to provide the original purchase receipt again. 2. We need you to contact the authorised repairer and get a copy of what work was completed. 3. We need you to give us the dates again of when the repairs were carried out. 4. Watch this one - Are you able to provide photos of the placement of the microwave. Your assistance will help our technical department. ie we are looking at the warranty and trying to get out of giving you what we know we should be giving you! I have attached a photo so you can see for yourself. In closing be very wary of buying a Panasonic Convection Microwave. Whilst we have loved the functionality of the microwave, I have lost faith in the quality control at Panasonic to provide appliances that live up to their brand. These appliances should not be breaking down 5 years down the track, let alone 12 months into the purchase. Anyway will keep you posted if anything changes as we continue the warranty fight!

Excellent value for money – We bought this microwave to replace our very reliable 32 year old Sharp Convection oven. It had to fit in the same space, so this was the only convection available. Overall we are very happy with it. It does not heat up as quickly as our old Sharp (no big deal), however, when it heats to temperature on the convection setting, the warning beeps are… Read more

very low, so it can't be heard unless standing very close. Also, the ceramic plate on the turntable stains easily. The convection works well but I don't like the cooling function that starts as soon as cooking ends. If you don't remember to remove your dish as soon as it beeps then you can expect a less than piping hot dinner. I would still recommend it as it's a reputable brand and is better value than others on the market.

A good all round microwave and convection oven – At first my wife was skeptical about purchasing the Panasonic oven, and she was right. Good but really expensive – I found this item to be good but a bit excessive and expensive for its use in my household. I have tried to use a few of the functions such as the convection oven but have found it takes far too long to produce the results I am after. The reason why I went for this one is that it was highly reviewed for its performance as a microwave and capacity which it hasn't failed to me in that area.  Show details

experiment. Easy clean exterior, interior easy to clean but be vigilant and wipe down after each use. All in all excellent, new users may need some trial and error as we did with our earlier model, it does not take long, and when you've got it your cooking experience will be humming along. We are a 2 person family and exclusively use as our only oven. Highly recommend. Noted some complaints about turntable, clean regularly the ring with wheels and the base of oven where wheels run, do not overload turntable, if using convection with heavy item take turntable out and use low rack to avoid overloading turntable mechanism. Understand how the unit work and refer to operating instructions.

My only microwave & oven for 6 years – When my built in oven broke several years ago this convection microwave became my saviour. Big and shiny – I've always been a Panasonic person when it comes to microwaves and this one doesn't disappoint. Still has steam sensors for automatic cooking. Two racks to heat up two plates at once or bake two trays of bickies. Loads of room for cakes Quick to heat up. (convection). Shiny bling. My only oven and microwave for 2 years – Due to renovation issues this has been my only oven and microwave for 2 years and it has been great. Total Rubbish – The first thing we noticed after opening the microwave door when we got it home, was that the wheels under the turntable were so poorly made that the turntable didn't turn correctly. We immediately threw them out and put the 'wheel ring' from our old microwave in there. Not an impressive start. But wait, there's more! When you microwave food… Read more

it's nice to be able to put a paper towel over the top to prevent splatter. But no, this machine activates a strong fan whenever you microwave so the paper towel gets blown off of the food immediately and you have to clean the machine ten times as much as you would otherwise. And that's not all either... The turntable turns while you're cooking in convection mode so you can't use large pans that use all of the cavity space - you have to use ridiculously small ones that will be able to turn. Why does convection cooking need to turn? And even that is not all. The most annoying thing of all, the thing that makes me constantly swear at this useless machine, is that it gets itself into cooling mode every chance it gets. As soon as any food has finished the time you set for it, both microwave and convection, the machine instantly starts blowing cold air at it. What if I want to cook a second batch of cakes or biscuits? What if I don't want my freshly heated food to be cooled before I have a chance to remove it from the oven? Tough luck to me it seems. I'd like to meet the designer and explain a few basics about kitchen requirements. I suspect the designer of this ridiculous machine has never set foot in a kitchen, or would be hard pressed to so much as boil an egg unsupervised. I despise this machine. It was a complete waste of money, and not cheap either. Our next microwave will most certainly *not* be a panasonic. In fact I don't think we will buy anything else that's panasonic either.

Bad Design. Inferior To Previous Model – Was so disappointed when I 'upgraded' my old Panasonic to this model.
