When I saw that this model had a black plastic button (that wouldn't show fingerprints) and stainless steel frame, the decision was clear. I didn't like the incessant fan noise it made for over a minute (even if you'd only used it for 30 seconds), the door was noisy and clunky to shut, but I loved the other features of this microwave - they were new and improved but still able to do everything I loved about our old 'Genius' one.

I looked after it, wiped it inside and out regularly, washed the turntable, was very happy with it...

Until all of a sudden it caught fire about 13 months after we purchased it... I guess we just got a 'dud' this time.

Couldn't be without a microwave, but didn't want to spend precious time trying to have it repaired or replaced (probably out of warranty by a month at that stage anyway) or researching the pros and cons of other models or price matching them all over again. This time I went to Kmart and bought one for two-fifths of the price which looks almost identical and has a few extra features that I love.

This experience has taught me not to waste money on brand name electronics - clearly nothing is designed to last anymore anyway.

Powerful Machine but needed better design – This machine works well. Really well. I use it a lot and it has to be the most powerful microwave I have ever had. on a black background does not make for easy reading at all. Very frustrating some time simply not being able to see which button to press. Second is the (what I feel) ridiculous "cool down" cycle the unit has. Use it for more than say 30 seconds and it has to "run" for another 10-15 seconds to "cool down". As per previous reviewers at first I was fooled many times thinking I had set the unit going accidently only to see the display read "cool". Is it needed? I don't know, never had any other microwave I have ever used do it. Will it make my unit last longer? Don't know either, but probably a pointless exercise considering how much extra electricity it uses every time I run it. Apart from that, everything else is great.

Glad we chose it – I had one old microwave before this. It was tiny and functional. A power surge last week sent this 16 year old to heaven. Off to a local electrical store and myriad choices. I have now had it for 3 days and feeling confident of writing a review, as I cook and reheat and defrost most days.

Good instruction book, but also given a quick lesson at the shop. Pretty simple, select power level and select time in increments if required. All good.

A genius function, but I wasn't keen to use it for cooking my asparagus, Su reverted to my own time. Done almost perfectly.

The wattage also quite big at 1100, which is worth remembering. Heat in smaller times to compensate.

So far have poached eggs, 35 seconds, steamed asparagus, 2.5 minutes, defrosted sausages, power on 1 and around 7 minutes...checking after 5...

It has an automatic cool down fan, one person wrote it is maddening...I don't agree, it goes for about 20 seconds. My Italian oven has a similar function, you just get used to it.

Very very pleased.

Good family microwave gets used daily – Solid workhorse microwave from Panasonic. Out last one was Panasonic too. It just trust them for things like this. You can fit a large dinner plate in, no probs and its pretty darn fast at cooking too. Its 1100 watts which is considerably more than many others. I just go by weight but there are lots of menu types. Our last one ran for over 20 years without a fault and I would expect the same again.  Show details

Great microwave – The microwave looks good and has very even heating. Very reasonably priced from the Good Guys. My only complaint is it is slightly louder than our old one, but nothing too bad. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a new microwave that performs well and does not break the bank.  Show details

Good microwave easy to use – Microwave is easy to use. Cooks evenly. Defrost cycle is a bit hard to use because you have to know the weigh of item you are defrosting . If you over estimate it cooks the meat. It is not a noisy microwave , it looks nice in our kitchen built in.  Show details

Dangerous, caught on fire! – Worked well for 4 years, didn’t use half the functions on it. Not the quietest microwave but not the loudest either. Can’t agree to it being built well when it caught fire. So lucky my husband was standing there to put the fire out. Unfortunately this has now put me off Panasonic microwaves.  Show details

then that’s it!!! I used to get annoyed with my last microwave that had a reminder beep every minute or so after it was finished until you open it but !!!! When you cook or reheat food then forget about it till the next day it’s not good !!! I just wish this microwave would have the reminder beeps after it’s finished until you open the door.

Good durable microwave – This microwave is always a bit touch and go. It's very dependent we have found on the type of dish you put in the microwave. For instance, with some dishes the dish gets heated rather than the food. Otherwise, good sturdy microwave. We have the same model at work for over 100 staff.  Show details

Not bad – It is quite convenient and it reheats food quite fast as well. The size is good, not that big and not that small. It does not quite affect the food quality and the temperature of the food is even as well. Love that there a lots of options to choose from, but not quite sure are they really the same as I have not try out most of the features yet. Show details ·  1

Easy to use! – I love how easy my microwave is to use! I’ve tried several others and they are just too confusing! It has 1sec, 10 sec, 1min & 10 min settings and the power is just as easy. I never use the pre loaded settings though, but I’m sure lots of other people use them (like rice, pasta or defrost)  Show details

Love the Larger Size – This is a larger sized microwave and I really appreciate the extra room because we have to prepare food for a large family. I has more power than most at 1100 watts and gets the job done well. The sensor reheat is a real bonus. It stops food from getting stewed by reheating. It's not perfect but it's a good feature. Keep heating our breakfast – This is my 3rd micro wave in my house in the last 10 years. It last last longer than others brand. 10 power heating for you to choose and lots of cooking mode from you to cook your food or boil your water for a cup of tea or coffee in the morning.  Show details

Exceeded expectation – Cooking results have so far been perfect. No issues so far. Microwave has all the features required and thus i have no negative things to say. Manual was easy to understand and noise level is moderate. Great value if you are looking for a promising microwave to do what is expected.  Show details

Microwave that does exactly what it needs to – This microwave operates very consistently, would prefer knob for cooking time rather than 4 different buttons. I like the door open button as it doesn't get stuck like other microwaves. It is not louder than other microwaves nor is it quieter, I was impressed by the way it cooks food center or outer food from the plate deep or shallow.  Show details

Good Microwave – Bought this couple of months ago to replace my LG microwave because of rust spots inside the microwave. I found that the film on the Panasonic settings panel is easy to get scratch marks, other than that so far no issues. Also the cooling function goes on after every heating.  Show details

Perfect, does the job – I like this microwave because it is easy to use and has the preset functions buttons on the outside. The inside it quite big and the surface is quite smooth making it easy to clean afterwards as well. The strength of the microwave is also pretty strong and it is not too loud when starting and finishing the cook.  Show details

Does its job well – The microwave is quick at heating up and is very easy to use. Its setting allow you to change the way in which you cook your food. Simple and Easy to use – Great little unit that serves its purpose for all needs. Loads of preset buttons that can be used for quicker heating, though consulting the included manual is something of a necessity to understand a lot of these functions. The auto reheat and defrost functions are especially useful I find. Love this microwave! – I really like this microwave because the inside of this microwave is huge, you can heat up a lot of foods at the same time. Its easy to use this microwave eventhough you never use this brand before. The cool this about this microwave is that it can cooling down by itself everytime after we use it. Great microwave! – I recently upgraded to this microwave after using the Kmart microwave. Although the Kmart microwave is great for its price, this Panasonic microwave is perfect - heats food evenly, looks slick and very easy to use. I was told that Panasonic was renowned for their microwaves and this did not disappoint. Great Strong – Great microwave. Big dish, no problem putting big dinner plates in and heating food. Has a cool down function which I confused it for thinking it was still heating. Easy to clean, great ventilation design, allowing you to place things on top. Not much stainless steel to clean on the face which is good if you have kids.  Show details

Premium microwave – I bought one of these to replace an older Panasonic microwave a few weeks ago. It is quite quiet, but most importantly, it heats very evenly and effectively. I have been very impressed since I bought it, as I have been with all Panasonic microwaves that I have owned. I have not used too many of the settings yet but I have found the defrost to be better than what I had used before now.  Show details

Good Microwave & Stylish – Recently changed from Kambrook to this microwave. Don't regret it at all - reliable, heats food well, stylish and looks great in my kitchen. Good microwave – This microwave has been really good so far. Heats in a reasonable timeframe, looks decent. It is a reasonable level of noise when it cooks. One of the features I liked when we bought it is that you can select '10 seconds', '1 minute', '10 minute' cooking options. This is really handy - only thing that would make it better is having a 5 minute option. Overall I am very happy with this purchase.  Show details

Good quality – Well built and good and even power, sturdy construction. Easy to use and navigate the controls. The microwave is fairly quiet and is a benefit in an open plan house. Good – heats quickly but defrost option does not work as well as I would like it to. Cooking results is great. Settings are very easy to use and understand. Not so loud.
