This model we purchased is not even two years old (ST665B). The previous Panasonic lasted much, much longer. I am very angry that Panasonic has moved to have these made in China. I used to love Panasonic. No longer. Australia is flooded with Chinese junk. This latest started beeping constantly and can't be reset. I think the electronics are… Read more
stuffed. I contacted Panasonic and because I can't give them an invoice, they won't help me at all. It have been too hectic here with breakdowns, floods and health issues and the invoice got lost. I forget where it came from.
I have been looking at what replacement I can have but after a couple of hours it is frustrating. No matter what brand and model I look at, I think I have found one until I read the reviews. Every brand gets so many negative comments. I think Australian standards are pathetic. They should not allow imports unless they are well made. The st>pid Govt in Australia made it impossible for manufacturing to continue in this country.
The ST665B worked well and cooked well, but the electronics obviously are pathetic. More so is the lack of support. I had 3 Panasonic microwaves before this one but I don't really want to buy another.
The verdict? I am still frustrated that I can not find a decent microwave that generally has good acceptance with Australian users.
This microwave broke down after 11 months and E&S trading were not allowed to exchange it for a new one. Instead we had to drop it off for repair which was a considerable distance away from where we live. It took 5 days to repair and worked for just… Read more
4 months. Now it has broken down again with the turn table static. Its out of warranty and based on the repair costs not cost effective. This brand used to make quality products but now they moved manufacturing to China and the quality is rubbish. Do not buy Panasonic microwaves. We have advised all our friends that these are rubbish
Follow-up · Panasonic contacted me directly and offered a replacement Microwave which was delivered to our house. This is now working well without any issues, however the original waranty period applies to the replacement so we hope that this is reliable as per previous Panasonic products we have puchased. In hindsight I think the previous microwave was just… Read more
2 months ago, the control panel start scrolling through error codes P10 to P1. It is a common issue for NN-ST665B. Now, the only button that works is the Stop/Reset. It starts scrolling the error codes again. Bought it just over one year, and it completely stop working. Faulty product! Never buy this model! Show details

Best Microwave I have ever owned – Not sure why it has low ratings but this is the best Microwave I have ever owned. The "Sensor Reheat" function" is the best invention and when I broke the turntable glass it was very easy to find a replacement. Show details
It happens to us all – Our microwave gave up in the middle of dinner prep. As a “veteran” of life I have outlasted 4 microwave ovens. Experience has taught me it is the megatron so don’t even think about repairs, just buy a new one. The oven had outlasted the above-average expected lifespan. I must confess, six months previously I had run the oven empty, on what I… Read more · 1
thought was the timer function for eight minutes on cook - I was impressed the unit still performed at all until now. Our previous model was bought from the Good Guys so a quick trip to the store saw us checking out a similar model Panasonic inverter microwave oven. We chose the later black version to match recently renewed other appliances. Four months in and the inverter (with turntable) cooks evenly, the variable power levels reduces boil-over mess and the operation is very quiet. The door closing mechanism is easier to open and close than the previous one. One minor drawback is, I still push the door shut firmly as before. The heavy megatron etc is on the other side of the handle side resulting in the unit moving backwards slightly at times. The Panasonic 32litre 1100watt inverter microwave oven is stylish, cooks a wide variety of food evenly, has a wide choice of functions and uses power efficiently. It is no wonder it is so highly rated. I would recommend this model.
A bit of a love, hate relationship – Positives I absolutely love the look of this microwave. We have the matching trim kit which really looks good in our kitchen. The first one we had stopped working just outside of warranty, but Panasonic were kind enough to give us a good deal and it was replaced, but we still had to pay some money for the new one, because I love the look so much.… Read more · 1
I replaced it with exactly the same one. Negatives. it has broken down and stopped working and had to be replaced. However, I only really use it to melt butter and heat up milk so not really used very much at all.
For the purpose I need it. It is great and fulfils my needs.
Was good until..... the truck reversing beepers started! – This was a great microwave which promised to be reliable, economic and able to be used how wrong I was- we use this microwave in our holiday home. Probably been used approx 50 times and is stored off between our stays. We plugged it in only to now be left with a near new microwave (only approx. 50 uses) now is rendered useless . What a heap of… Read more
junk, microwave enters some unusable mode and beeps constantly with short intervals of no beeps between. Can't leave it plugged in due to constant beeping interval which exceed 1min 30 in length sounds like a ticking timed bomb count down, or a truck is going yo reverse through your house!
DONT BUY IT, IM HOPING PANASONIC SEE MY REVIEW AND make contact with me as it is clearly not fit for purpose and should be refunded.

A Sad Experience with Panasonic Product – It would be best to avoid this microwave. I have had two of them in the last five years. The first one failed just on three years with an apparently common failure that the controller decides to start scrolling through error codes P10 to P1 and the only button that works is the Stop/Reset. After which it stops working entirely until it starts… Read more
scrolling the error codes again. Back then, Panasonic told me to take the unit to one of their service agents for assessment. I had to pay $50 before they would look at it. After a few days they told me what it would cost to fix. As the repair cost was more than I could buy a new replacement, I picked up the faulty unit, and it went to land fill. The replacement unit is just under two years old and it's now doing exactly the same as what the last one did. Panasonic again told me to take it for assessment to see if it was caused by a manufacturing fault. I told them I was happy to have it assessed, but I was not going to pay another $50 and go trough the same process as last time. Of course, they didn't agree to that unless the "Panasonic contracted" technician decided it was a Panasonic manufacturing fault. I am a long time user of Panasonic products and most of them have been excellent. These Panasonic inverter microwaves are in a different category. Based on my experience (and apparently the experience of many others), the Panasonic NN-ST665B is a very poor product. And after a few phone calls to Panasonic, I am sad to report that they do not listen to the reasonable concerns of their customers and just use the standard scripted answers. Time to find a manufacturer that makes products that are fit for purpose and employs support staff who listen to what their customers are saying and also call back when they say they are going to.

I bought two and one was troublesome – We bought two- one for the skullery and one for the kitchen. Unfortunately the kitchen one quickly developed random issues- -Door hard to open. -Press go, it powers up for 1/2 a second then shuts down. You then have to press reset and enter your program again. -Buttons not responding unless you press reset first. Panasonic were nice enough to… Read more
replace it.
Our last LG used to beep loudly when heating finished and if you didn't open the door within a preset time it would do it again.....and again!!!! You don't always rush back to your microwave as soon as it's done, so this was extremely irritating. This Panasonic does not do that.
The LG used to 'run on' in cooling mode when the heating was finished. Even if you ran it for 1sec it would annoyingly go on for seemingly ages. I believe the Panasonic my parents used to have did that too- this model does not. The 'after cooling' could be a good thing to get rid of excess moisture that may linger and cause rust?? Or leave the door ajar for a little while after steamy items.
You can't silence the buttons- they beep loudly when pressed. It's not something you need because you see the screen change when you press them. They could at least be at a reduced volume to the other beeps. Pretty standard for most microwaves I assume though.
Talking about the buttons- I've noticed a random thing (they are both the same) after heating something, the time buttons become unusable for an unknown period of time. If you walk away and come back later, they work again! The workaround is to press the stop/reset button, then they work straight away.
We haven't really played with the sensor programmes much to review that side of things but the manual that came with is full of recipes and cooking instructions.
Overall it seems like a decent unit for this price range
Great microwave – We purchased this microwave to replace another one that wasn't running correctly. This Panasonic microwave looks sleek and modern and fits well into our kitchen with the black design, even though we only have silver appliances, it has enough silver to fit in. Run's well and the sensor reheat function works perfectly. I can't comment on the… Read more
cooking functions as we really only use it for re-heating.
The only 2 negatives I have would be that it is very dark inside when running, but this doesn't bother us as we really don't stand and stare at the food, again we only reheating. Also like other people have said the one annoying thing is once the cycle is done, you cannot start another cycle until you press stop/cancel... So when its done we press stop/cancel straight away so next time we go to use it its ready to go. A quick start feature is missing too, i.e. when u put something in and press nothing but start and u get 30 seconds or so.. But even without the quick start and the stop/reset issue its still highly recommended.

Suddenly the oven cycles through the power levels – I am having the same problem that is mentioned in the reviews of Peter W and Gregory M. My microwave is 33 months old and has worked very well. Quite suddenly, unattended, the microwave started cycling through the power levels. I pressed the Stop/Reset and got the : response. No other buttons respond. Eventually the display shows 88:88. the Stop/Reset is the only one that gets a response. I have turned the oven off at the wall but turning on the oven just gets 88:88 and no response other than the Stop/Reset mentioned above. I tried the Panasonic Customer Care Centre and got an automated response that offered a human responder but then hung up on me. I am hoping for a response similar to Peter W and Gregory M. Panasonic came to the party and fixed my microwave free of charge. Thank you.
Quality Premium Microwave oven – This microwave cost a bit more, but that's because it is fully featured, powerful, and has a door that shuts like a Mercedes. I've already forgotten how much I paid, because it is so good. I only bought it because my last Panasonic microwave failed after over 30 years of sterling service. Show details · 1
A happy experience (that included a repair) – We purchased this microwave (based on recommendations from Choice) to replace a faulty built-in appliance. Purchased this microwave in in September of 2022. Used sparingly and dead after two years. It started shorting and sparking last week and almost caught on fire. technician. Nothing has happened. Panasonic! what happened to you? have had several microwaves before that has lasted well over a decade and now this one barely makes it past the finishing line of warranty! I won't pay this sort of money again for a product with a 12month guarrantee and to top tier pricing. Not worth the money at all! Contacted Panasonic, was advised a technician would contact me after sending photos, proof etc. No mediaton has resulted through Product Review either. I have been ghosted.

Disappointed – Had Panasonic genius for 25 years. After it had gone into a minor nuclear meltdown, I bought this thing from the 'Good Guys' on 24 sep 2022. Not what l expected from Panasonic – Purchased 2 months ago. Panasonic Inverter Genius NN ST665B. Would never buy one again – Tried to get a warranty service on the product but only one service agent in WA which only opens from 9am on Thursday. Driving from Aubin Grove WA to Malaga WA especially with the price of petrol at present isn't worth it. Best for me to dump at the tip and order another Sharp Inverter that lasted me for years, which is what I should have done instead of buying what was available at the time. Show details

It’s heats well but controls are meh – The microwave heats food well and quickly like you would expect from 1100watts. What let’s it down are the controls, feels like it was programmed by someone that had never used a microwave before. Awkward menus and awkward time setting buttons. Show details

Purchased 01/07/2019 Just Stopped Working Yesterday – I was happy with this microwave until the actual inverter just stopped working at all yesterday. I though Panasonic was the best out there? Since it only has 1 year warranty (most of… Read more
the manufacturers only give 1 year) it is no longer under warranty and I cannot find the original invoice, so is it $200 to $300 every 3 years for a new microwave? Use was in a single person household.

Great Microwave! Very happy – Purchased this microwave in November 2021 from Harvey Norman. This microwave is excellent at making the food taste like it hasn't been heated in a microwave. It heats very fast and the menu is easy to use. The microwave is equipped with the inverter technology which is a lot better at reheating/defrosting than a basic microwave as the food is… Read more
cooked more evenly due to the microwave constantly heating at 50% power in comparison to a basic conventional microwave which jumps between 100% and 0% power. The microwave is quiet, reliable and a good size. The only thing to note is that after cooking it smells a lot more than other microwaves I've owned in the past, so it needs to be cleaned somewhat regularly to remove the smell. Overall, I am very happy with this microwave.
Need some minor improvements – Purchased from The GoodGuy for $280. Nice simple design but yet modern looking. The door closing and opening is smooth and the unit operate very quiet. worked well. However I do noticed this unit does create some condensation and hence require regular cleaning. The unit also marked very easy with fingerprints.
Not sure why the company would insist removing the second adjustment; instead now one have to adjust in block. Another bad feature is that you can’t adjust the additional time while the unit is cooking.
Terrible Product – Purchased this microwave 10/2018 from Good Guys. Salesman warned us that the unit may not be suitable if we steam alot of food/vegetables. Isn't that why you use a microwave?? then said they found ‘banana juice’ in the inner workings of the turntable mechanism. I have never had a spill in the three months, the banana did not burst (I even took a photo). the case at all. It is a well known issue which is why Good Guys refunded us immediately and we purchased a Samsung instead so will see how that goes. Very disappointing for a $280 microwave. An OK microwave – The front surface of the microwave has become faded after about half year and the plastic cover started to loose. This is not expected for a product only purchased recently despite I only use it once a day or so. The controls and programming functions are very similar to other Microwaves, so I didn't find it difficult to use or innovative either. The microwave heats food evenly as advertised. Show details · 3
