Waste of money – Not even 3yrs of use, not cheap neither! I’m now buying a Kmart microwave because I’d rather spend $50 every 2 yrs than spend $300+ buying a branded one doing the same amount of life span!! I had a microwave that lasted 17yrs, when it was replaced its replacement lasted 6mths! Things today are definitely designed to cause holes in your pockets Show details

Fault free and still going strong – Been really happy with the microwave. Strange to see so many negative reviews but I guess I managed to find one of the good ones. Its been going strong now for around 7 years and has not had a single problem. It works well and is fairly intuitive once you figure out roughly what sort of power levels you need for different foods. Cant really… Read more

think of anything bad about it. Can be a pain to keep the mirror finish on the exterior nice and clean.

What the – I'm with beebeegee - I was surprised to read all those negative comments. I'm totally satisfied with mine which I use every day and it has never faulted in 3 years. It cooks perfectly, is easy to use and seems sturdy enough to me. The cooling fan is a little loud, but hey... Anyway, it's now discontinued but I won't be buying another until it dies!

Really Good – I have had mine for 18 months. I like the look and simplicity of the functions. The price was also quite competitive compared to other brands. I have never had any problems whatsoever. I am surprised by some of the other reviews I have read about this product on this site :-/

Nothing is built to last – My Panasonic NN-ST680S microwave died today, same as some other reviews, takes out the circuit breaker every time. It was 7 years old, so looks like I was lucky compared to some buyers. I know that the product is now discontinued, but thought I would join the chorus anyway. I agree with others, Panasonic is no longer held in high regard.  Show details

Failed after 5 years – We had a Panasonic microwave when I was a kid and it lasted 20 years. This one however started to make a loud buzzing noise after 4.5years of use and has now completely failed. It trips the circuit breaker. We forked out for the trim kit and had our cupboard built to size expected 15 years use. Very disappointed.  Show details

Not happy, Jan – My microwave has minimal use. I kept it clean. Just ran out of warranty and it failed. I paid to get it fixed because I have always loved Panasonic and thinking I bought the only broken one. I stored it for 3 years, took it out 3 months ago and it has stopped working again. Looks good but this is a dud.  Show details

Just died after 12 years – Bought this in early 2011 and it has just died - so I would have to say it did a very good job - now that hard part is to find a new microwave that fits into our cabinet in the kitchen. Show details ·  1

Still works, over 10 years now – We were looking for a new microwave because of a kitchen remodel, but this is our old one and aside from some chipped powder coating on the inside from A LOT of use and banging it still looks good as new a decade in. We saw all of these bad reviews which seems bizarre! It's recently started to exhibit some inconsistent heating behaviour but not… Read more

even bad enough to be the reason we're replacing it, not that it would be an issue after decade anyway. It hasn't rusted, but I put that down to us keeping it relatively clean, we wipe it weekly I'd say. Anyway, thanks Panasonic if you read this.

Short life Span - DO NOT BUY – The microwave is not worth buying. After having a water proof camera fail due to poor design, and 2 failures to the Panasonic microwave, I conclude ALL Panasonic products are rubbish. Our first repair was a week before the warranty expiry date; and had to drive half way across Sydney to get repair; but 18 months later its totally failed. The… Read more

a warning on Panasonic – Our Panasonic microwave still looks good on the outside but inside it is all rusted on the roof & the floor. After contacting Panasonic, they informed that microwaves need to be wiped out after every use!. and don't want to help at all!. We kept the microwave in a clean state but every time is ridiculous. A Real Dud! – Was working ok until the power to the microwave would go off every time I opened the door or closed the door only to come on again 2 minutes later. I've never had a microwave behave like this and it is only just out of warranty. When I bought this machine I assumed Panasonic were a good brand but after reading all these negative comments about this model I would not be surprised that they would not make this model any more.  Show details

H97 ERROR – I used to think Panasonic was a good brand, sadly not anymore. After 3 years of very minimal use it stopped working & displayed the error code H97. After checking other people's reviews this appears to be too common. It appears the Panasonic brand has become a cheap option. What RUBBISH! – I purchased this microwave about 3 years ago from the Good Guys in Perth WA. It wasn't cheap but I assumed that Panasonic were a good brand. When I spoke to the sales staff, I mentioned that the door was a little difficult to close. Over the next year, it became worse but I was out of warranty. After just 2 years of use, the door couldn't be… Read more

Good while it lastest – This was my second Panasonic "inverter" microwave, and it lasted 5 years before suddenly dying. The previous one only lasted 3 years, so I suppose that's an improvement. You can't get them repaired either, because their approved servicers charge a crazy amount just to look at it, and then add this to the repair/parts cost and it will be as much as… Read more

a new microwave.

I liked the generous capacity, I could fit two large bowls in there easily, or a large dish. And I do like the inverter function better than the on/off cycle of normal microwaves.

Buy at your own risk, and take out an extended warranty because you WILL be making use of it. It's a shame they don't build them to last.

Panasonic NN ST680 – I found my microwave off the side of the road . You can't ask for much when its free, but its noisy hard too clean and you cant shut it off with out pulling the plug when it has finished heating food. there should be a stop button to cancel cooling off process

Waste of good money – Looks good but at the price we paid for it should last more than 3 years. Paint has peeled from inside of microwave. Used it several times only recently due to necessity and tonight it smelt like it was going to catch fire, had a bad burning smell. Going to throw it out and avoid Panasonic like the plague. Very disappointing after having purchased so many Panasonic products over the years.

Not a long lasting product – I bought this microwave in July 2011, thinking that I was buying a quality product that would last me for quite a while. The door closing was the first thing to go (outside of the 12 month warranty) & although he door closes it feels out of alignment. Then all of a sudden 2 weeks ago the microwave stopped working and came up with the error… Read more

message H97 - the microwave generation system! Called Panasonic - they were happy to have it assessed and see if it is a fault within the unit (hello - a main component fails after 3 years it's a fault in the unit!!!) but I had to get it to the one and only authorised agent in Malaga - from Spearwood. I couldn't get it there, and they would not accept a report from any other assessor, but the retailer I purchased it from was happy to get it to the agent for me. Last Wednesday I call the agent, and they tell me it's a major component and Panasonic has the report. Call Panasonic, and they say they don't have the report and I should call the agent. Told them I had, they call the agent and say report is being emailed. No contact after 48 hours so I call again and they say they don't have the report. Again I ask they chase it up. They are now offering to pay labour on the repair or $160 discount on a new microwave from the same series as this one - which I assume has problems or is outdated because the model number does not come up on the Panasonic website. Not happy with this product, not happy with the 'customer care' and certainly not happy to see so many others have had issues with this same microwave and all when the unit is relatively young!!! Time to change brands.

Really low quality – Rubbish. Really low quality. Made in China. Welded from paper-thin metal sheets. Parts distorting everywhere. Doors drooping, cannot be adjusted. The product stops working because the paper thin sheets that support door switches become distorted after few months of use. Rust spots on the stainless steel front.

Lift your Game Panasonic! – Bought a Panasonic NNST680S in 2011only to have it nose dive yesterday. The design asthetics are good but surely 3 years only out of a "quality" brand microwave is way under the odds when compared to the longer lasting "el cheapos". Guess which brand I won't be getting as a replacement.

Panasonic model ST680s -Rubbish – This doesn't even deserve a one star! I normally spend more in order to get the best quality product! Very disappointed as it was used mostly for reheating and little cooking in. Bought this in late 2011. Has H78 code issue which is a new inverter or magnetron. Obviously a common fault looking through the reviews

Useful pile of Junk – Disaster - stopped working completely after 14 months. Too many problems to list. Avoid like the plague. We're throwing it straight in to the bin and buying a decent microwave now. This was pretty expensive at the time too, also came highly recommended by the store, no doubt because they couldn't sell any. Nothing Basically everything

Totally hopeless! A real dud!!! – I bought this microwave in March 2012 and after using it for less than a month, there were problems with the door release button. A couple of days ago, the light inside started flickering, then it wouldn't finish microwaving and now it has the dreaded H97 on the… Read more

A lemon from the start.

very, very disappointing – Spent a lot of money getting a stainless steel trim to fit this microwave to our new kitchen. Inverter broke after 14 months. This was not cheap to repair and inconvenient. Looks nice but useless – Bought this microwave in January 2012 and has worked okay ... until now. At first it just stopped half way through the heating cycle and now won't work at all. Very poor considering I have had to drag my old 20 year old "Genius" microwave out of the back shed and which still works beautifully. I expected a little bit better from a microwave which cost me $299. I will be very careful when choosing the next one. Looks great Won't work.

Rusting out after only 2 years – This would be a good product except for one thing, the ventilation system. I should have got a refund instead of an exchange when the fan kept running on the 1st one. Instead I replaced it and the fan ran less but sometimes not at all. Often I would find the oven filled with condensation and now it is only 2 years old and rusted out, with rust… Read more

Temporarily Dead after 3 years and 5 months, then alive again next day – I did quite an extensive research before buying this microwave, and according to the mixed review it should be quite decent. Well well well we have used it for more than 3 year when it decided to sleep in comma for one day. Then after that it magically alive again. I really hope this time it will stay alive ... Look nice Cooling feature after reheating is useless, 3 years lifespan which is a bit short for a $200+ mwave

disappointing – Our old National Genius lasted nearly 20 years. The new one is less that 3 years old and has the dreaded H97 error which is not worth fixing. Previous one lasted 20 years didnt even last 3 years

Waste of time and effort – This microwave has been a disaster from day one. It cooks unevenly - food explodes on one side and remains cold on the other. Panasonic replaced the magnetron which made absolutely no difference. This microwave is… Read more

Short Life Span – We have had this microwave oven for only 20 months and it has stopped working. Technological Marvel ends up being a dud – The appeal of a sensor reheat grabbed me and based on reviews on purchased one at Harvey N. Just over a year ago. My last microwave lasted over 10 years and I had to get rid of it as it was so yellow from the exposure to light. Still it worked to the end. And it was a no name from K Mart. Looks Sensor was not so acurate and really no better than the standard mocrowaves for much less.

Do not buy this microwave! – I fully agree with a previous reviewer, in that this product is is definitely not built to last! I purchased the microwave on 27/4/12 and just over 3 months later on 4/8/12, it stopped working and showed a H97 error. I phoned Panasonic and they suggested I take it across town for repair. I would expect, at minimum, an apology and an offer for… Read more

immediate replacement. I have little time to drive across town to drop it off at a repairer, wait days for a review and repair, and then collect it when the job is complete. My previous microwave lasted 18 years. Three months without problems on a new microwave is not good enough, Panasonic! Appealing Design It broke down after only 3 months!

The product didnt last 18 months! – Functionally, the product worked fine when required and I had no specific complaints about it. Rubbish product – Definitely do not buy this product, in fact do not buy a microwave from Panasonic. After just over 12 months of basic use (and just out of warranty) the microwave stopped working and displayed a H97 error.
