quite as painful as I was expecting to deal with however, it took about a week or back and forth from it arriving and having to take lots of photos etc for them to agree it was defective, then, they said because I'm in a rural area with no "partners" they couldn't come and collect it, so I'd have to take it to the tip myself and take a photo of it's disposal and send them the receipt that they'd reimburse. I said I had no means to do that and if they could get it to me, they could take it away. Then eventually they organised a courier who couldn't come for a while and then didn't come when they said they would and I'm still waiting for them to come and get the mattress. They say they won't refund me until it gets back to their warehouse (which is on the other side of the country as I'm in west Aus so probably weeks). I have no idea how much longer this process will take however it still feels a while away to get my refund. I can't go and buy another mattress until I have my money back to do so.
Considering everyone has agreed it's actually defective, I feel that I should not have to wait another 2 weeks for it to arrive back at their warehouse, especially, because they would have refunded me by now if I personally took it to the tip. It's been a really long and painful experience and I wish they'd been more up front with me and my options.
They sell you on the whole "30 day sleep trial" and 20 year warranty thing, but then all of a sudden you can't easily have it collected or dealt with and they actually have no intension of taking it back without serious ground work of the client. It should definitely come with a disclaimer BEFORE you buy letting you know if the area of you live in will be possible for them to easily take it back or not.
I would recommend just going into a mattress shop and trying them out and finding one you like rather than stuffing around with this complete and utter scam.
I have held off on writing this review to see how they handled this as I wasn't going to say anything, but I've been waiting around all say on my Saturday for the Courier they organised to come, who now hasn't shown and I'm quite frankly so over it. Peace lily, you have really let me down and it sucks.

say some charities “can’t pick up because volunteers are elderly” or “don’t have trucks.” So, you guessed it — you have to start calling random charities yourself, post it on Facebook, and even rent a ute or van to deliver a 60kg mattress just to qualify for a refund.
I live in Caringbah, one of the least rural areas in Sydney, and even here they’ve failed to organise a single pickup. It’s their product — not the customer’s job to sort out their logistics. What if you’re elderly or disabled? Peace Lily claims to “partner with the NDIS,” which is laughable when they can’t even arrange collection for people who may genuinely need help.
I’ve followed every step of their return process, uploaded all the required photos through their portal, and done everything right — yet they keep sending copy-and-paste emails that go nowhere. The moment you buy their product, you basically start working for them — chasing charities, handling transport, and trying to fix their mess yourself.
I haven’t spoken to a single Australian-based person — just offshore staff reading from scripts, hiding behind excuses about “helping the environment” and “volunteer limitations” to avoid responsibility.
And to top it off, the mattress itself is terrible. Even on the firm setting, it offers no real lower or mid-back support, causing severe back pain. If you’ve ever had a bulging disc or spinal issue, this mattress can make things much worse — I’m desperate to get it out of my house.
Peace Lily has no real charity partners, takes zero accountability, and leaves customers completely stuck with a heavy, expensive mattress they can’t return. It’s caused financial stress, physical pain, and absolute frustration.
This is a clear breach of Australian Consumer Law, and I’ve reported them to the ACCC and will be pursuing legal action. Avoid this company at all costs — they do not deserve your money.

Follow-up · It’s been 2 years since my review and we still absolutely love our mattress and recommend it to everyone. I feel like it could be quite a mission moving house with the mattress as they are heavyyyyy. But worth it haha. The difference this mattress has made on my back and the way it supported my body through 3 pregnancies was amazing. One of our best investments!

My sleep has been the most comfortable in over 3 yrs, I no longer get hip or lower back pain and I find I drift off rather quickly and my sleep is less interrupted with having to roll over or readjust every 20-30mins.
I think Im going to purchase the plush topper next and spoilt myself with a new kapok pillow and Egyptian Cotton sheets to make it even more a dream bed.
To be honest I had wanted to go with Peace Lily when first looking for new mattress but without a store, I was hesitant and that resulted in a terrible mattress that cost $4k I should have done this to start with wouldve saved years of a sore back nd hops and a lot of money!

has taken a while for the mattress and topper to expand- Initially the topper didnt look long enough, but every night it just feels that much comfier. I believe it will keep getting better over the next 6 weeks or so. Pillow of crumbed latex was easy although a bit messy to get to the right density for me, and is really comfy for my sore neck. Edge of mattress is supportive and easy to alight from. Have had latex before. This one didnt make my legs feel weird like my last one, and I have had great sleeps from the start. Manufacturing & Sizing Defects We ordered a Queen mattress and matching topper. Neither piece conformed to standard Australian Queen dimensions (2030 mm x 1530 mm), and worse, they didn't even fit each other:
Mattress: Arrived at 2070 mm x 1560 mm (40 mm too long, overhangs standard bed bases).
Topper: Arrived at 2000 mm x 1560 mm (30 mm too short).
The Result: A 70 mm (~2.75 inch) length gap between companion pieces from the same manufacturer, leaving a ridiculous exposed ledge at the foot of the bed and making standard fitted sheets impossible to fit. Beyond the sizing, the sleep system remained rock hard at 60 days, causing persistent shoulder impingement and lower back strain.
2. The "Risk-Free" Return Trap When we initiated a return well within our trial window, the "risk-free" promise vanished. Peace Lily informed us that their charity partner "could not collect" bulky or heavy items from our area. Instead, they pushed the burden entirely onto us:
They instructed us to pay out-of-pocket to transport a 45 kg slab of latex to a charity (ignoring that major charities refuse used mattresses due to health regulations).
Alternatively, they told us to advertise it for free on Facebook Marketplace, demanding we submit a screenshot of the listing and take photos of someone loading the mattress into a vehicle before they would even consider processing our refund.
3. Non-Existent After-Sales Support We did their job for them: listed the items, vetted local collectors, helped load the heavy latex into a vehicle, and sent clean photographic proof of the handover along with the listing screenshots as requested.
Once the evidence was submitted, customer service went completely silent. No acknowledgement, no refund confirmation, and zero communication for days—forcing us to issue a formal compliant to Fair Trading for failing to comply with Australia Consumer Law, the ACCC for misleading and deceptive claims of a stress and risk free return and prepare a bank dispute to get our money returned.
Verdict: Between non-standard factory sizing, unyielding firmness, an outsourced return process that treats paying customers like unpaid rubbish removers, and ghosting support queues, this company is anything but "risk-free." Look to established Australian manufacturers instead.

A healthy sleep – Very impressed with my new Peace Lily mattress. Was heavy in the box but after maneuvering into bedroom was easy to set up from box. Was surprised how quickly it formed the proper shape and without me realising while sleeping on it. Gives a very comfortable sleep and with latex pillows (not Peace Lily) i feel i'm sleeping on a cloud. Glad i made the decision to buy.

Wr use the medium side and love it, have not tried the firm side. There was zero smell. Am use to the height now, took awhile because our old mattress was very deep. When I asked Peacelily for a refund, they flatly refused, despite the product being clearly unusable. Disappointing quality and even more disappointing customer service. I wouldn't recommend them, terrible product and terrible customer service!

unbearable to sleep in. The topper was so heavy and unsupportive that I woke up with lower back pain from the very first night.
When I asked for a refund, Peace Lily agreed to take back the topper but refused to accept the sheets and protector. They hid behind their “policy” exclusions and tried to frame this as “personal preference,” even though customers buying online cannot inspect products in person and are entitled to rely on the Australian Consumer Law. Internal policies cannot override the law.
In my experience Peace Lily is forcing customers to keep products that are not of acceptable quality and not fit for purpose. This is not just poor service. It is shocking behaviour from a company that presents itself as ethical and customer focused.
I have lodged complaints with the Queensland Office of Fair Trading and the ACCC and I am initiating a chargeback with my bank. I strongly caution anyone considering Peace Lily to think twice.

Peace Lily’s reply to my review is incomplete and misleading. 1. The proposed Salvation Army collection only applied to the mattress topper, not the sheets and protector which are also in dispute. It is not correct to say I “declined” the return. What I refused was to wait until 16 October for a partial collection that left two defective items unresolved. 2. This return process has already dragged on for over a month since delivery on 4 September. I have been in constant back and forth with Peace Lily throughout this period. To suggest this is “just one more week of waiting” ignores the unreasonable delays I have already endured while trying to exercise my rights. 3. The sheets and protector remain unfit for purpose. The sheets are so thick and stiff they cannot reasonably be described as sheets. The protector is excessively bulky and heat inducing. These are not matters of “personal comfort” as Catherine describes them. They are failures of acceptable quality and fitness for purpose under the Australian Consumer Law. 4. Peace Lily’s position that hygiene exclusions override the ACL is simply incorrect. Statutory guarantees cannot be excluded by internal policy. 5. Finally, Catherine claims that out of “thousands of customers this is the first complaint.” That statement is demonstrably false. There are multiple negative reviews online describing the exact same problems with quality, refunds and service.
In my 50 years I have never met a more unreasonable or stubborn person who could care less about the reputation of the company they represent. The items remain packed and ready for collection, yet Peace Lily continues to delay, misrepresent and refuse to honour its obligations.
My complaints are already lodged with the Queensland Office of Fair Trading and the ACCC, and I am proceeding with a chargeback. Consumers deserve to know exactly what they are dealing with.

Excellent Mattress – I let the Mattress decompress for about two weeks, just so l wouldn't have to change clean sheets. The Hybrid mattress is excellent, if you are looking for all body support, this mattress does it. My condition makes it hard for me to sleep properly, but this mattress has made it easier for longer sleep periods for me. And, just for that the mattress deserves five stars. Well made, and good quality materials make this a great mattress.

I'd wanted the full latex one again (I already had one and a Kapok one), but it was sold out and I didn't want to pay for freight twice. Turns out this one is perfect anyway, a mix of latex and fluff with that mid firm feel I was after. Just wish I'd bought 2 straight away! watching it unroll, decompress and stretch out on the bed base over a few days; we left it for more than a week. As expected, there was a smell for a week or 2 but as it was mentioned with the information supplied with the delivery, we weren't worried about it and it has gone now. The sustainability and 100% natural materials are important to us too, but mainly we love the comfort, support, flatness, the lack of partner disturbance. When we replace the other older mattress, we will definitely buy a Peace Lily.

Firm- Comfort level just right/Goldilocks – My current mattress is too soft and I felt unsupported. I would wake up so stiff and sorelike my back needed to be cracked back into alignment. But then comes the Peacelily firm mattress topper. I was worried it would be too firm but no it is actually perfect. My sleep is transformed. while still feeling wonderfully supportive. It has two firmness options (a medium side and a firm side), and we’re currently using the medium side for my little girl, which seems perfect for her.
One thing that surprised me at first is how heavy the mattress is (around 25 kg), but to me that actually feels like a sign of real quality and durability — the kind of mattress that’s built to last for many years.

Outstanding mattress. Even though it arrived in a box, it has great structural integrity. I’ve had great, restful sleeps. I love that it’s tox-free especially with my toddler sleeping on it. The cherry on top is the exceptional customer service. I love that it’s Australian-based and will support Australian companies first. I would buy again!
