them, this coating was practically bulletproof and came with a lifetime warranty. We were told it would protect against sun, rain, animal droppings — even heard a story about a customer who claimed successfully after chemical spillage in a carpark.
What they don’t tell you is that if you don’t claim for any damage within 30 days, you’re out of luck. For five years I’ve been meticulous: cleaning my car with non-abrasive shampoos, avoiding wax, instructing anyone who washes it to do the same. I read their guides, followed their instructions, and kept my warranty card safe. And yet, five years later, our Tucson’s rear fin developed what Permagard calls “delamination.”
Sure, it had been there a few months before I noticed it — but it’s on the rear fin on the roof, hardly something you inspect every day. According to their assessment, it had “clearly” been there for over 12 months, which I dispute. Regardless, because I didn’t lodge a claim the moment I saw it, my wonderful lifetime warranty is now worthless.
So, if you’re considering this product, be prepared to inspect your car daily, because the moment something appears, your timer starts ticking.
And that’s not even talking the interior coating, which supposedly also resists anything, and yet marks from sunscreen, pets, and everyday life are present everywhere, and won’t come out.
I’ll finish by saying our i30, which never had this applied and is twice as old, looks no worse for wear — and both cars have been exposed to the exact same conditions, the i30 for longer. Take from that what you will.
My advice: save yourself the money. This product makes your car look shiny for a little while but offers little real-world benefit.

bubbles appeared on all windows. This year in March 2023 bubbles up to 1.5cm in width appeared on the rear window. I had all windows re-tinted again by Permagard, and yet again more dramas. They left a piece of tint on the drivers side window and tinted over the top of it, and there were even more bubbles than before! The vehicle was not done in a dust free environment, as it looked like there was bits of dust and hair tinted over. I would never have another car tinted through this company

and his has been much better so far and was much cheaper.... my brother took his cla35 somewhere else and got paint protection and front panels wrapped in clear for preventing stone chips and it was just a little more. I would do that in the future.
Also if you don't have enclosed parking don't get it! Everything sticks to it and then scratches it up when you wash it.
Purchased my mercedes 12th of June less then 2 months ago. Have washed it only 2 times and it has scratch marks all over it. It's like the paint is stickier and attracts a lot of dust etc to it. I'm not really impressed with it so far. Are you meant to get the coating redone over and over on a black car to not see the swirls? I owned a black car previously for 2 years without paint protection and it never looked like this ever.

wrong but something ain't right here, It does look like it helps with bird and insect droppings, also cleaning is a bit easier, but still nothing to write home about and the tinting is of excellent quality. In permagards defence it may not have been applied correctly, it was either done to quickly or not given enough time to cure properly I can honestly not say, plus it rained a day after I picked her up, though I suppose I will have it wrapped in protective film instead, which is what I should have done in the first place, should have trusted my gut. To be honest feeling a little depressed washing all that dollars down the drain.

cost about half of what the ceramic coat on our other car cost so we went with it. The first wash after we got the car I could see the water was streaking rather than beading and sliding off the car like it does with our other car. I contacted Westpoint and they came up with the excuse that not all coatings are the same (roll eyes) . Then after a few months when there was actually water stains on the car after washing/blow drying/micro fibre towelling, I called Westpoint back and told them it was not working. They begrudgingly applied another coat and I could tell by the time it took it was a half you-know-what job. It was better for a little while but now after just over 2 years I am having to use another product to get the water to bead, which it still doesn't properly. She told us Permagard had a "lifetime" warranty as long as we owned the car but really it's such a rubbish product I can't be bothered wasting a day and going back again to get it applied for the 3rd time in 3 years. Meanwhile my other car with the very good/high end Ceramic coating is coming up for 3 years and water still flies off the car like it did when the ceramic coating was new. I can only guess that some of the high ratings for this product come from people who are not as fastidious with their cars, and/or have never owned a car that has had a good ceramic coating (1500 bucks plus)

Jutia dealt with me direct and went above and beyond to have Tyler fly from the Gold Coast to Townsville to apply Permaguard onto the seats which the dealership never had done when paid to do it. Tyler is a credit to your company and in previous dealings with Sonny I was blunt direct and rude but his comment I should work for the company things would get done. I do apologise for coming across rude and blunt. Sonny Tyler and Jutia are a credit to the company and it’s unfortunate that the Dealership made the experience to start with extremely unpleasant. Overall I am extremely satisfied with Permaguard and the staff. Product worth getting if you can afford it.

confirmed this. Yet the lady who responded to my claim said my car was covered in mould from being poorly maintained which is not correct. She was very accusatory and condescending. In summary, the warranty covers basically no types of damage to exterior paint and is therefore not worth the money.
UPDATE: After complaining about the service I received, they booked me in for a warranty booking and fixed almost all of the damage to my car.

Don't waste your money on this product when getting a new car. Get other detailers to do it – I got my brand new Mazda cx5 2 weeks ago which i have paid for additional costs with the permagard protection plan. I noticed my car colour became lighter/ more dull than it should be when I compared my car with my mate taking his car about the same time as me. The water beads forming in lines all over the car, which it is not supposed to. I am not sure if I should go to the car dealer or permagard for further discussion.

Terrible product – I must be the only person not happy with this product terrible to wash water beads and leaves a stain which is hard to remove. They have already been out once and no difference . I I bought this vehicle brand new from Toyota Warragul about 2 years ago and if I had my time over again I wouldn’t touch it . permaguard then the team did a full re application and a full car detail including the rims and interior! Steve in Perth spent over 6 hrs on it. A lot of the problem was my washing technique and the sponges and micro fibre clothes were all wrong. Unfortunately the car yard didn’t tell me anything or give me any advice . I find permaguard to be more of a paint enhancer while it provides protection it’s not some hardened ceramic barrier to stop chips and scratches. When done right my black car is swirl free and has a nice look to it now. Thank you to the entire team for all you have done. Shane
