Really Disappointed – I had previously used this pump with my daughter and though it was great, until it stopped working properly after 4 months. Never had a bad word against it, but at 13wks I had to stop pumping because I'd soley relied on this pump. This time around I purchased one as I have a newborn son and am very very disappointed. The motor seems to be… Read more

gone in it. As far as I know these have no lifespan, and this one is less than 2yrs old. It has to be the motor and not the connection because both the electric cord and the battery powered one have the same issue, the pump spontaneously turns off.

Very dissatisfied and will now be looking into another brand of pump. portable, easy to use stopped working. inefficient

As bad as it gets – I so agree with Karolina!!!!! Electric one is absolutely bad! Manual is 100x faster ( still not good) so the whole purpose of spending extra $$$ for electric one went down the drain! I used medela in hospital and now I understand why they are expensive! It's like comparing Ferrari and Fiat... Sure, they both start with an F, that's about it! I… Read more

spend 20min to express 20ml! No suction, don't waste your money...medela all the way! Plus when tried with batteries, it lasted 20 minutes and they were empty!!! Really don't get it how other mums like it....

It's a pump and doesn't pump! Batteries last 20minutes, takes ages to pump small amounts

Do not waste your money – Due to my baby's inability to breast feed directly, I relied heavily on this pump to feed him. The amount of trouble, time wasted and stress this pump has caused me, i wish no other new mother to also have to go through. The suction on the pump was so bad that unknowingly I spent hours trying to collect a meager amount, and it wasn't until the… Read more

motor broke that I discovered how bad it actually was. Where I used to waste an hour and a half i discovered that i could collect the same amount in 20 minutes using a manual/hand held pump.

For two and a half months i struggled with this pump, thinking that i simply could not produce enough milk to sustain my baby, becoming more and more arrested to this pump to try and boost my supply, taking a variety of herbal and consequently prescription medication. All along it was because of the poor suction of this pump.

I have spoken to the customer service people at Avent and have been refused my money back (they do not refund on "personal care products"). This is simply unacceptable as my milk supply has been affected and consequently my baby is now also supplemented with formula because i simply do not have the time to express the entire waking day.

I am currently in the process of seeking legal advice because this is simply not good enough and if anyone is considering purchasing this product, please save yourself time and money and hire a hospital grade pump for the same cost and it is for this shonky and inferior pump!

Bad suction

After 3 replacements I'm never going near it again! – I wrote a rave review about this pump a year ago. But after replacing it three times for the same problem, I got totally sick of it. The part that keeps breaking is the little pin where the plug connects to the pump motor. It's fiddly and delicate, and very prone to breaking. The first time it broke, it got replaced under warranty. When the… Read more

replacement one broke, Phillips refused to play ball, saying I should be more careful.

So I bought another one and have treated it with kitten gloves. With only a few uses it wasn't broken exactly, but it got so close to broken that every time I even shift in my seat the pin moves out of place and the machine stops working. So frustrating! So I gave up.

This is a good piece of equipment that is let down by a cheap pin connection. Phillips needs to spend a bit more on a better connection mechanism if it wants to retain market share. Good before it breaks Cheap pin connection that is very prone to breaking, rendering the whole machine useless

Fantastic and versatile pump – Bought the Avent Isis IQ Uno and have been extremely happy with it. It is super easy to use and comes with everything you will ever need. I loved the fact that it could be used electric or manual and came with a portable battery pack in case you don't have access to a power point (e.g. on long car rides). Also, it fits with all the Avent bottles… Read more

and the VIA storage system so because of the interchangeability of the system, it makes the whole Avent feeding system so versatile and user-friendly.

Despite how much I LOVE the pump, I am about to try and sell it and upgrade to a Medela double pump. This is because I was unable to breastfeed my baby so I have to solely rely on expressing which means pumping every 3-4 hours. When pumping this often for an extended period of time (weeks to months), it seemed more practical to get a double pump and the Medela pump I am getting is primarily designed for mothers who are frequently expressing.

As long as you aren't solely expressing for an extended period of time, this pump is definitely everything you could need or want for a breast pump. Very versatile, portable, easy to use, reliable Not recommended if you are solely expressing for extended periods (over more than 1 month), only single pump

Good – This pump is quite satisfactory, it's comfortable to use, however I find that I can only express a good amount in the morning with full breasts. Even then it can be a litte slow at times and I think a stronger vacuum would be great. Quite expensive, but the fact that it is electronic makes it very easy to use. I would pump about 100ml a day and… Read more

would not like to do it manually.

On the bright side, Phillips have great customer service, I snapped off a part of the funnel after a couple of weeks of use and they sent me a new one fre of charge after explaining what happened.

All in all, it's a great product and I believe I made the right purchase. Comfortable to use, easy set up, great customer service from Philips. Sometimes I do wish that the motor was a little bit more powerful, I find that the breast pump only works if I have a very full breast.

A little bit confusing to set up and use in the beginning, but after a couple of goes it became very easy.

Small parts difficult to wash.

Relatively expensive.

Life saver!!! – I used this breast pump with my first baby and I will recommend it to anyone who asks. Once you get the hang of it, it is very easy and comfortable to use. Great pump whilst it still works – I bought my pump about 2 years ago and used with my first child, no worries. Second child comes along and i've used it only a handful of times. It has since broken!!!! Warranty is only for 12 months so i couldn't return it to the store I bought it from, etc. Contacted Avent and they advised it sounds like I need to buy a new motor! I paid approx $200 for something that will only last like 2 years (and that's with the occassional use, not frequent usage). Used this pump altogether about 8 months during those 2 years whilst bfeeding. Pump was good while it lasted but don't know if i'd spend the money on it again, perhaps stick to manual... Easy to use, great not having to pump yourself lasted less than 2 years till motor died and no service centre for this product.

Avent Pump: Electric vs Manual – I have been using manual pump now for 4 months and it worked so well but of course, I tend to get tired. So I was inclined to buy an electric one and that's where my nightmare started. With an electric motor, to create suction, it presses the diaphragm downward instead of pulling it up (like in Manual) and causes milk to leak and accumulate in… Read more

the diaphragm's cup. I rang Avent support and all I heard was to regulate the speed to avoid spilling milk. Nonsense.. It took me an hour just to get 320ml by being so slow yet the same outcome. So I have just put aside my electrical pump and carried on with the manual one.

Paying for name only - disappointed – I thought when I purchased the AVENT Electric Breast Pump that I was buying a top quality product. I have been quite disappointed. It is not user friendly as you have to hold it a certain way on your breast to get proper suction. It is not easy to clean and you can easily wet the motor on it. It takes twice as long to express as the Tommee Tippee.… Read more

It has also cracked one of my nipples which is quite sore. It also leaks. It can also be manual, made from quality plastic Leaks, cracks nipples, bad suction, takes twice as long as other electric pumps, not easy to clean as can wet the motor

Fantastic!! – I had to use this breast pump as my daughter came 7 weeks early so I had to express every 3 hours while she was in hospital. I was expecting it to not be able to take so many uses in a short amount of time but it was amazing. I never had any issues with it. I would recommend this breast pump to anyone. It's great! Excellent – Expressed bottles for my newborn as she kept falling asleep at the boob and waking up after an hour for a feed so it was very draining on her and me. She loves the bottle. This is a great breast pump but canbe expenive. Pulse Chemist in melbourne sells them for $185.00 but got mine brand new on ebay for $139.00. A lot of other places sell them… Read more

Good – It emptied my breasts well, Even though it was not always the easiest to find the rythm I liked, it was still nice to use. It fitted my bottles and I could just put it in the fridge. Excellent – My wife has been using different types of pumps for four months, including the $2700 Medela Symphony. This Avent pump, at 8% price of Medela Symphony, gets more milk out than Symphony. This is amazing. Shockingly efficient Slightly noisier

Must have breast pump – By far the best home breast pump i've used. It's very comfortable to use comes with a silicone flower insert or can be used without, it has a variable speed and manual memory so you can program it to the speed that suits you. I love that avent makes everything compatible so you can express straight into the storage container (or baby's bottle) without having to express and transfer. comfortable and easy to use - see description

Terrible – Annoyed. Lost money. The battery pack doesn't even work because it needs the main part to work, which is not working. A lot of other people didn't like the noise but didn't bother us. Terrible – We needed a breast pump urgently as our new born is in hospital special care. Excellent – Set up can be quite fiddling to begin with but becomes easier the 2nd & 3rd time. I have tried 2 other breast pumps and this is by far the best in the market. Definitely worth the price as it is reflected through the product. I love that you have the best of both worlds, manual and electric. Very comfortable and easy to use. Milk can get caught in the cushion rim & seep out, otherwise fantastic.

Excellent – This is a fantastic product. I initially purchased a Medela Mini Electric and was extremely unhappy with its performance, it was also very uncomfortable. and haven't looked back. Being able to set your own unique rhythm, suction strength and speed of the pump makes such a difference in comfort. As does the soft plastic massager that fits on to the breast attachment - much more comfortable for me than the hard plastic of the Medela. Would highly recommend this product. Very comfortable, gentle and easy to use. Strong, effective pump that can adapt to your own unique suction rhythm. BPA free if you buy the latest model. Easy to clean. Electric cord could be longer, but you can use an extension lead.

Good – Initially it took me an hour to read the instructions and set up the pump but now that I'm used it to it, it's a very easy set up.
