Issues with battery operation – It's reasonably comfortable however, I only get 50ml expressing for an hr. The pump is also loud and so I bought batteries so I could pump out the way of my baby (whom would constantly wake on hearing it) however it only worked for 2 minutes on ever ready heavy duty 1.5v batteries, so I put another brand new set of 4 in and the same thing! .. Now… Read more

I have to use it plugged in which is not ideal for me.. And definitely won't be when I return to work :(

Easy and reliable – I bought it for me and looks good quality and price is reasonable. I had previously manual one but too much of an hassle. This is an electric pump which is much better than manual one. Show details ·  1

Easy to use – I used this pump frequently after birth for about 4 months about 3-4 times a day. It is comfortable and compact, I also like that you can use it with batteries without plugging it in. So if you do need to take it anywhere you could. It was easy to use & wasn’t to noisey. There is different options on to find the one that’s comfortable for you. Show details ·  1

Amazing help when i needed – I had my baby and wanting to continue breastfeeding in spite of wanting to return to work, this Avent breast pump came to my rescue. With the automatic button pressed, I could lie back and just take turns with each breast. Easier than I had thought expression would be Show details

Absolute waste of money!! – I purchased this pump for $169.99 after reading online reviews, turned out to be an absolute waste of $$. It left my breasts sore and tender. I tried to return the item and was told to see my GP as this pump was designed for comfort and there’s no fault with the pump- basically no return/ refund. Show details

Low suction – It worked fine for about 4 months with my first baby in 2017. Next time I used was with my second baby in 2019 (2 years and 5 months since I bought the pump) so it was out of the warranty. After about a week of use it started to make a strange noise and suction power was gone. Philips wouldn’t deal with it as it was out of warranty by 5 Months. I… Read more

was given the same breast pump brand new and the suction power is even worse. I couldn’t express even a drop. There is no receipt for the second pump but it was made in 2016 (same as my first pump although I purchased it in May 2017) so again Philips won’t even look at it. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. $200 is too expensive for just 4 months of usage. I would expect it to work for at least 2 babies like other pumps do.

This product is terrible DO NOT BUY – I have purchased this products from chemist warehouse and it is terrible. The suction is so small that It pumps out milk it’s so slow. I have had a spectra at home it was much better. Contacted customer support and is hopeless - wouldn’t allow me to return. Show details

Highly recommend – This pump is extremely easy to use, easy to clean and a good pump. It has 4 Speeds to pump on; and that helps with deciding which you need for the milk. It’s much much easier to use than the hand held pump. Show details ·  1

Works well but for regular pumping I would purchase a stronger product – Easy to clean, use and transport due to battery option. I don’t find the pump to be very strong and I unfortunately do not get a great amount of milk from this product. Show details

Reliable and easy to use! – Very comfortable, sometimes needs to be re positioned to be effective, but this is no real big issue. Very easy to clean and operate. The battery setting when not plugged in seems to have some bugs, the pump will sometimes just stop pumping, but we don’t rely on the battery as a function so we love the pump!  Show reply

Excellent pump – I really liked this pump. It is small, light weighted than the one I was using earlier. It is very comfortable to use and you really don't have to lean forward like with other pumps.I get good milk flow and can express a decent amount of milk with each pumping. Recommeded

Good starter breast pump! – This pump did the job for me. As a stay at home mum, I did not use it regularly and my son did not like to drink from the bottle when he was younger. I only pumped to get milk to mix with his food or when I needed to leave the house for an hour or two. This pump helped a lot when I had too much supply. Its cheap compared to other pumps. My only issue with it was the material turns brownish or darker even with minimal use.  Show reply

Works but very minimal output – This machine works but is quite uncomfortable I even tried the wider cushion and it just pinches It also takes a very long time to get a small amount compared to other brands I’ve used. Could just be that it’s not for me but would work great for someone else but my experience wasn’t terrible just not great.

Alright product – It’s very comfortable to use but I felt when using it not very powerful in pumping. I felt it takes long time to pump but apart from that it’s good to travel with and easy to pack. Cleaning the product is easy, instructions are clear. It’s good value for money.

Would buy again – So usually I use a spectra breast pump at home but when it became time to go back to work and I needed to pump I got this for in my car. Pro 1.) I love how you really can sit in a normal way and still pump. My other pump leaves you sitting at that weird pump angle. This one does not. 2.) Batteries, can't go wrong. I've pumped 3 times and still… Read more ·  1

have battery in my 4 double As but this will be the last test, how many pumps do you get on one set of batteries.

3.) It gets milk out, it isn't perfect, but it gets my milk into a bottle. ..purpose served

Cons

1.) Didn't matter to me cause I was in my car at work, but it is louder

2.) Really hard to clean, so many random pieces and grooves. Harder then my other pump to keep clean

3.) My coupons that came with unit expired in 2015...it is now 2017. Makes me wonder how long this pump sat around

Very average pump – This pump is loud and very average suction. I borrowed a friends Medela (which I was too cheap to buy) and it is way better and worth the extra $100 for regular uses. My Avent hand pump is fine for irregular uses, but not as efficient as the electric pumps

Good value – Used it once a day for 3months at a time. Have 2 little ones. Good value and flexible with either using it by power or battery. Felt no difference of power between the two options. Bit annoying sometimes to wash because there are so many pieces but overall good machine does the job with 3 different speeds.  Show reply

Fantastic pump... took the stress out of expressing! – Absolutely loved this pump. I found it really easy and comfortable to use. Fairly quite machine with 2 different settings so you can select how fast or slow you want to pump. Easy to pull apart for cleaning and great quality, I was able to use the same pump for both my children. I would definitely purchase this product again.  Show reply

Such a life saver – We got this as a gift and I’m so glad we did. It made like a lot easier for me! It’s very easy to use, light and easy to clean. My only negative is I found it leaks a little sometimes and I really couldn’t figure out how to fix that. Will be using when we have number 2!

Loved this pump! Quick and quiet – This breast pump was super comfortable to use. It was easily able to be taken apart to clean and put back together. The pump itself is quiet yet really powerful. It also has different settings so that you are able to select how fast or slow you want to pump. Starts off with a let down pump as well to get you flowing. Loved it!  Show reply

Not strong enough – Unfortunately this item wasn't strong enough for me and I couldn't pump more then 40ml Unlike the hospital grade (I tried the spectra version after my son was born) where I could get 70-90ml the device is comfortable and not too noise just didn't work for me. If I was more prepared I would of purchased the spectra even though it's dearer

Does the job – Very expensive breast pump I bought it for $300 in 2015 and have used it both then and in 2017 after I had my second child.. it definitely does the job well, slowly but surely depending on how much milk you’re making, so it can be a bit time consuming considering its a single. Only major con for me was that is it is super noisy!!  Show reply

Great Starter Pump – This is a good option for a once in a blue moon pump. I used this every day for 3 months as my baby didn't latch. I eventually found it wouldn't pump that well comparing to other brands. It was comfortable to use. I generally used this pump for about 20 minutes 5 times a day. Easy to clean, just chuck it in steamer once a day then leave in… Read more

Lifesaver – I used this pump about 4 times a day every day between weeks 1 and 10 and it never failed. Has three settings plus a let down setting you can use it on which was good. Great pump – This pump was very comfortable to use and I never had an issue with it. I used the machine for around 30 minutes several times a day and it worked great each time and for the time using it. The product comes apart easy making cleaning each piece of the product easy. I would definitely use this pump again being my first time breast feeding I didn’t have any issues.

A little disappointed – This product is easy to install and clean. However it is very loud. Can’t used it when others are asleep or baby is sleeping. So I had to go to another room and lock myself out when using it. I didn’t product a lot of milk back then. I found out my milk was wasted a lot in the pipe/straw. I gave up and I used hand pump into the bottle instead of this machine in the end. But it may be just my personal issue because I didn’t have enough milk.

Great product – This machine rarely feels uncomfortable. All the accessories and attachments are fitted to the feeding bottles. It is easy to scrub and steam and hasn't aged while being kept very clean. In the beginning, it was used for longer periods and it remained comfortable the entire time it was used.

This is good for mums who are exclusively breastfeeding!! – It’s easy to clean, would recommend it for mums who use this only on the odd occasion, as it does take time to pump unlike the other brands like medela. I purchased this and it was faulty luckily I held onto the receipt therefore I was given an exchange! Would have preferred my money back as I could have purchased a medela as I was exclusively pumping!

Not for me – It was easy to assemble and use, but the flanges are by far too big and I could not find any other sizes available for purchase anywhere. I used it twice, got no milk out, and it made me bleed both times. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

Gentle but effective – I have trialed a number of different brand pumps and Avent is by far my favourite. It is gentle on my nipples whilst being able to express the most milk. This made my breastfeeding journey so much easier and ensured I had a few bottles prepared in the freezer for emergencies. Would highly recommend this pump to any mother.

Easy to use – I found this quick and easy to use. In the first week I sent my husband a list of things to get this was the one he purchased! In the haze of newborn days I figured out how to use this pretty quickly. There are 3 options slow, medium and fast suction. At the beginning there is 'prepping' button which helps start milk flow. comparable with my Avent baby bottles. In hindsight. I like that it can be battery operated, and can be taken everywhere. The cord for the pump is long enough so you can pump in the chair or in the comfort of your own bed. It isn't very loud either.

Good and comfortable breast pump – Purchased this pump since bub was 2 weeks old to use occasionally. Even now after 6 months i am using it without any troubles. i found it very comfortable to express, easy to clean & assemble. The best thing about the pump is it is both electric & battery operated which makes it super convenient to use. I don't think so i would have been able to continue breastfeeding without this Philips Avent Single electric pump.  Show reply

Great for New Mommies! – My husband bought this for me few months ago. I found it very easy to use and gentle on my breast. I don't have any complaints on it. He bought this around $250 yet it is so worth it with its high quality. I would highly recommend this to new moms.  Show reply
