My philips sub-woofer hl3027 won't pair. I have the white light at the back of the woofer blinking and despite trying everything like plugging and unplugging and pressing buttons on the remote, it still doesn't connect. Any help?
Hi Nathalia, thank you for your question. We are sorry to hear that your subwoofer it's not pairing up correctly. Have you followed the instruction on page 6 of the user manual: external link ? Make sure wireless devices such as router and DECT phone are placed away from the Soundbar. Then, locate the wireless subwoofer/speakers as recommended in the Quick Start Guide and try using a different channel for the router to minimize interference. If this doesn't resolve the issue, we'd like to refer you to our Consumer Care team for more information. You can reach them directly on 1300 363 391 (Australia), or 0800 658 224 (New Zealand) from Mondays to Saturdays: 7:00 am - 7:00 pm EST. They'll be happy to help.

Hi, Been experiencing a problem with my Philips HL3160 Sub-woofer. The LED on the back of the woofer continually blinks white, and I know it means it's trying to pair, but its been days now and it can't seem to pair. I tried everything I read like plugging-unplugging, pressing buttons and stuff, but I still get a blinking white light. Any help?
Had the same issue - in the end we just replaced the whole thing. Got rid of it and went to another brand. If you do some research online you will find this is a common issue.

The soundbar never remembers the last used volume, bass, and treble. This is very annoying.
Is there any for the sound remembering these settings? Or, otherwise to set new defaults?

We'd recommend contacting the sound-team about that. They might have some tips to share. You could contact them on: 1300 850 633, open from Monday to Friday 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST.

Just purchased the HTL5160B and setup at my elderly mother place, she does not have internet fyi. My question is why is the centre speaker light flashing constantly? This is very annoying and surely can be turned off. Has it anything to do with setup of network etc. How can i disable this. Thanks.
Btw the sub is connected.
The light flashing means that the Sub-woofer (centre speaker) is not actually pairing with the soundbar. You will find that it is not producing any sound while the light is flashing. The light should go solid white if it has "connected" to the soundbar. The story is that you can press and hold the button, and the light should flash quickly until it makes a connection, and then stay on.
This problem for me has just gotten worse over time. My soundbar almost never connects now.
I wish that I'd read up on this unit more before I bought it, because I have now found lots of people have the same problem. If it is not too late, take it back to the store and ask for a refund.
HI there, Thank you for coming to us here with your question. We are more than happy to help out. How great that you are installing the Soundbar at your moms place, she must be excited to use it. We can imagine that having a blinking light can be quite distracting and we have an idea how this scan be solved.
This blinking light occurs during wireless pairing between the sub-woofer and the main unit. When the pairing succeeds, the indicator lights up a solid white. But when the pairing fails the indicator blinks white slowly. To make the pairing happen just the press the connect button to enter the pairing mode for the sub woofer and hold it until the white light turns solid. The indicator light will turn off when the wireless connection is disconnected for 1 minute.
Should you have any further questions, please contact us on 1300 850 633 if you are in Australia or 0800 639 953 for New Zealand. Our product specialists will be more than happy to assist you further.

The flashing light i speak of is on the front of the bar NOT the Subwoofer. The Sub is connected and audible, the white light is part of the white display that scrolls text etc. Today i also got a call from my mother and after some troubleshooting It turned out the entire unit had frozen and we needed power cycle it, so far pretty disappointed with this unit, Requires power button to turn on (we use optical, and not sure her tv is ARC enabled if that is the only auto on method) but then takes a long time to start up, scrolls a bunch of junk text about setup and finally she can press optical.
However you would think it would save this last input device for the next time you power on, but it does not, powering on starts this tedious process from scratch, this is not what i had in mind for my elderly mother (who requires hearing aids), this has made her life more difficult even if the audio quality is now somewhat better than the built in TV speakers - may be looking at refund. 2/5 Stars
Thanks for your reply, and i too wish i had researched more, it was just just a discounted price (now i know why - clearance!)

Hello
I have purchased the above soundbar and am experiencing audio issues. every few seconds the voice stops and then slowly comes back.
Not sure if it is the product or the connections. It is currently connected with HDMI cable not optical.
Could you please help?
Thanks
Hanna
Hi, sounds unusual. HDMI is good to go and should not happen. I suggest that you speak with Philips customer care. I never had this issue.
Hi,
What is the difference to the htl5140?
Mate few differences.. Majorly the wattage.. Htl5140 has 320 Watts while the ht3150? Is only 100 watts..same physical looks..cheers...
Apart from the difference between wattage (HTL3140B/12 with its 200 W and the HLT5140B/12 with a whopping 320 W) the HTL3140B/12 does has two additional sound enhancement modes, like the night mode and Virtual Surround Sound. The HLT5140B/12 does have the edge concerning the sound system as it sports a DTS Digital Surround system apart from just the Dolby Digital. You could find all the specifications of both models in these leaflets: external link (HTL5140B/12), external link (HTL3140B/12) So you could compare the features that matter to you. :)

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
I can see that some sound bar have 3.1 like htl2183 and some are 2.1 like htl3140.
What does that difference effects?
There is an hdmi connection port on the soundbar, whats for? I connected that to the tv. In the port 3. The bluray is in the port 2 on the tv. When I look at the movie on the bluray hdmi port 2 - then the sound only goes through the bad tv speakers. Don't have any optical cable but one OLD fashion rca, red and white, cable.
Now after 4 days its a metallic sound from the system. And it's when looking at every satellite channel as well. Back to the tv speakers.
You may have to disable the tv speakers in the tv settings - I had to do this with my Optical connection as well as I was getting audio through both. I haven't tried connecting any other way, so can't really comment on the HDMI thing.
Does it connect with gaming console?
I've got my consoles hooked up to the tv by hdmi and the tv output going to the sound bar (optical out). I suppose you could connect to it directly though if you wanted to.
Hello, thanks for asking. Any gaming console should be connected directly to the TV or monitor, because playing it through any device will cause a delay in the reaction time between the controller and the image on the screen.
Some TV’s actually have a game input mode to reduce any delay in displaying the image for the same reason. If you still have any further questions feel free to ask.
Is the 100 dollar cash back offer still valid somewhere?
