It works by Magic – Philips will have you believe this iron will also do your dishes. It works by magic and magic alone. The Optimal Temp feature is a complete mystery and is completely inadequate for iron linens in particular. Worst appliance purchase ever. My partner was livid from day and sceptical of the claims of automatic temperature adjustment. I say ...… Read more
Philips should SHOW US THE DATA and explain hoe the heck this things works (which it assuredly does not).
Does not Iron. Junk. DO NOT BUY – Doesn't Iron. Waste of perfectly good resources to create. Never gets hot enough to iron anything. Cord is too short. The only feature true to its word is that it won't burn anything... well yes that's because it never heats up to a useful temperature. DO NOT BUY. Philips should recall and refund this product to everyone who had the bad luck to purchase it. Show details

Absolute Rubbish – The iron looks impressive, modern, colour and design. However, so did the titanic. This iron is the worst appliance I have ever owned. I don't iron alot so when I plugged the appliance in for the first time it was well and truly outside the change of mind timeframe. The temp adjustment is nonsense. I attempted to iron a linen shirt and a cotton… Read more
dress, both were just as creased as prior to ironing, even after using the extra steam option. I wouldn't give this away to an enemy.

Expensive lead weight with multiple issues – Put up with this Philips iron for 3 years, should have returned it the day after I bought it but persevered as I only iron once a month and it was expensive ($159). Very heavy, never hot enough, had to press steam button repeatedly and engage additional steam slider to get wrinkles out. A very thirsty iron, had to keep a jug of water nearby for… Read more
constant refilling and design of dark plastic water well made it hard to read level. The short cord meant plugging it to an extension cord. Occasionally wouldn’t heat up after first plugging in with standby light flashing, would have to unplug and plug in again. It died last night with an awful burning wiring smell. My last iron (not Philips) lasted a good 10 years and was fraction of cost, wont buy another Philips.

Horrible iron – The iron has no heat control & does not heat up enough, therefore I need to work much harder to get good results. I also cannot see the water level easily with the dark brown & black colour & the cord is shorter, so I have to use an extension cord. I have always used Philips irons, but no longer. Show details
Overpriced and leaves water on clothes – Not worth the high price. Does the job, but so do other cheaper irons that have a manual temperature control. But mostly, it is so annoying that it regularly leaves spots of water on the clothes. Also does an ordinary job of ironing linen and other materials that need a high temperature to remove creases. Works Really Well – This iron has no temperature control, which is very unnerving when you use it for the first time. That is, the normal dial where it goes from silks/delicates all the way up to cotton/linen does not exist. But the weird thing is that it works well for all fabrics. You just turn the iron on, place it over the fabric, and away you go. It does not… Read more
suddenly melt rayon or polyester, it's just the right heat. And for cotton pants or jeans, it's piping hot and the shot of steam is excellent.
Easy to fill, it's not too heavy when filled with water, and glides easily over clothes.
I did try out my previous iron the other day and realised why I stopped using it - it's just to fiddly to get the temperature setting right and it burns fabric and/or doesn't iron creases out fully.
Give it a go, if it doesn't work as claimed you can always take it back for a refund.
Second worst iron I have ever used – Very disappointed with the iron. It doesn’t ever heat up enough to iron shirts, the cord is far too short and I put off ironing for as long as possible. Will never buy Phillips again. Show details

Excellent iron but with a short cord – The selling point of this iron for us was the optimaltemp feature... no need to set the temp for anything. It was also on sale (down to $89). And it really works. We have ironed skil through to jeans with no problems. Steam control is great no leaks or drips. The only downside is the short cord. It's not very practical having to be near the power point or using an extension cord. Show details · 1
Cord too short – Im very happy with the functionality of this iron. I can work through a pile of clothes without having to sort them in to the temperature requirements. It works well on nylon through to jeans with lots of steam. The big let down is the length of the cord. My electric socket is right beside the iron board and still it is not long enough to get to… Read more
the tip of my board. Its a real pain having to use an extension cable. Id rather pay more to get a longer cord. The cord length should be stated on the box like everything else about the iron. I now know why its not advertised. Shame Philips have produced a good product but let it down with a basic fault.
