Hello Tarjanyi! Thank you for reaching out to us. If your Philips PT 920 shaver is showing a flashing orange light and not working or charging, it might be a sign of a battery or charging issue. Let's try to fix it with a few simple steps: First, double-check that the charger is plugged into a working outlet and securely connected to your shaver. You might want to try a different outlet or charger to make sure the current one isn't faulty. It's also helpful to clean the charging contacts on both the shaver and charger—using a dry cloth or soft brush works wonders—just in case dirt or residue is getting in the way. Some shavers can be reset by holding the power button for several seconds.

If the battery seems dead or unable to hold a charge anymore, we'd like to look into this immediately and support you find the best possible solution. Please, feel free to call us at 1300 363 391 (AU) from Monday to Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm AEST, or at 0800 658 224 (NZ) between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm from Monday to Friday NZ local time. It is not the shaving head replacement indicator that is flashing, but the operation indicator LED.

PT920 has stopped charging. Have been using it happily for a number of years and now suddenly the battery isn't charging anymore. Does the battery die after a period of time?

My PT920 has just started displaying a red shaver head symbol which it has not done before and I can find NO mention of this symbol in any instructions, what does it mean?

Philips Domestic Appliances
Philips Domestic Appliances   DM

Hi Mike, Thanks for your question. This signal reminds you to replace the shaving heads of your shaver, as new shaving heads guarantee continued optimal shaving performance. The replacement reminder is repeated at 7 to 10 successive shaves, depending on the model. In some models, you can reset the razor by pressing and holding the On/Off button for approximately 10 seconds. Hope this helps! Please let us know if you've got any further questions. You can always reach out to us on Facebook or Twitter (@PhilipsCare) as well.

Kind regards,

PT 920...been an excellent razor for few yrs..but

Battery no longer responds to recharge at all...no lights...seems to be dead

Apparently replacement batteries not available

Any suggestions before chucking ?

Philips Domestic Appliances
Philips Domestic Appliances   DM

Hi Mark, First of all, we're very happy to read that you've been so enthusiastic about your razor but what a pity that the battery doesn't hold a charge anymore. Did you already give it a 24-hour charge to see if this helps? Like you already mentioned, it is not possible to replace the built-in rechargeable battery. If the 24-hour charge doesn't help you out, and if you're based in Australia, we kindly ask you to call 1300 363 391 to get in touch with our team of specialists. They might be able to assist you further with this.

Kind regards,

Hello David. Thanks for reaching. We are glad that you like your Philips shaver. We hope that we can help with the issue you are mentioning though. Do you mean that the blades are not rotating when you turn on the device? Have you tried reassembling the parts and cutters again? Please check below video:

If that doesn't help, we would recommend to contact our care center at 1300 363 391. Maybe they can help you out further.

Hi David I'm no technician but I support with the suggestion of The Philips Australia Team. Years ago I had developed the habit of opening the head compartment and rinsing the heads with water to clean them and the head compartment out. One time when I was shaking out the excess water the whole head container popped off. That's when I discovered the little mechanism that held the head compartment in place and enabled you to take the head compartment off to facilitate replacing blades etc. It is directly under the spring mechanism you can see when you flip the head compartment open. All you have to do is gently prise the whole head up to get the head off. There is a little silvery metal button which slips into a small hole in a small silvery metal plate. I now take a little more care in shaking off the water when I rinse the head out and have since had no problems with the whole head popping off.

Short possible answer is that somehow the head of your shaver may have become a bit loose and may not be completely engaged with the 'driver' posts that turn the blades when you turn on the shaver. Just a suggestion as, once again, I'm no technician and I'd hate to lead you astray.

All the best with it.

Milt

Can anyone please advise what the PRO PT920 is like on longer unshaven hair ? Buying for partner who often goes 3-5 days due to working away. Is this unit suitable ? Thanks .

This shaver comes with a trimmer so longer hair can be trimmed off before using shaver head for final finish

Philips Domestic Appliances
Philips Domestic Appliances   DM

Hey Bel, thank you for your query. The PT920/19 comes with an integrated pop up trimmer. You can push the trimmer slide downwards to open the trimmer. We advise your partner to trim first, before using the shaver itself. By pre-trimming longer stubble, you reduce the hair length so that you need fewer passes with the shaver. This leads to a shorter contact of the shaver with your skin, which reduces skin sensitivity and increases skin comfort.

You mentions your partner is some days in the week away due to work. The PT920 comes with a travel pouch as well, so that should be convenient for your partner.

For any more information regarding this shaver, please check the following link: external link .

The Philips Australia Team

Does the Philips Shaver PowerTouch Pro PT920 comes machine to wash shaver head as indicated in the review from greg77 dated January 11, 2013?

Your advice is much appreciated.

Fredanglo

My purchase came with machine to wash the shaver head, however this means a continuing expense of buying the fluid recommended. It may also help to wash the head first in running water to remove the bulk of hair before using the machine to prevent the machine quickly filling up with hair which then requires cleaning out and replacing cleaning fluid.

Philips Domestic Appliances
Philips Domestic Appliances   DM

Hi there, Fredanglo. Thank you for your query. The Philips Shaver PowerTouch Pro PT920 does not come with a machine to wash the shaver heads. However, the shaver heads are easily washable. To keep the shaver clean, we also advice you to use the included cleaning brush. Please check the following link for more information and instructions about the usage of the shaver: external link . We hope this is useful for you!
