OverheTs – What a waste of money,it overheats very quickly and no real suction it has no power at all complete waste of money in my opinion, the hand held dust buster has great suction but none to speak of in the actual vacum, dint bother buying this product available at Big W  Show details

Great value for money – The PIRANHA S20 is a great value for money machine, excellent suction, light weight, maneuvers well.no mucking around with dirty dust bags. Does a great job and with the little included hand held Vac,over all a nice compact little unit. For the price you cant go wrong.I had considered the more over priced cordless machines but I am glad I reconsidered and went for the PIRANHA S20.  Show details

Does what it needs to do – I found it light weight enough to carry around when necessary. Picks up small particles very effectively. Nice and easy to empty and the filters were relatively straight forward to clean. The build quality seems to be on the cheap side and I will be careful not to knock it around too much.  Show details

Good Product little noisy – I found this product while cleaning. Strong enough to fetch small particle. And it easy to maintain, easy to detach its parts and clean them is easy. The only disadvantage is that it is noisy. Otherwise, the product is equivalent to another expensive vacuum cleaner. Anyone who want to good performance irrespective of noise then this is a good option to consider.  Show details

Nice vacuum cleaner – It's been more than year i am using this but there is no issues yet. Suction is good but all you have to do is clean the filter time to time. It's not too heavy to carry and really works amazingly. The hand vacuum also works amazing. I brought it from big w after comparing lots of other option. With this price range its definitely worth the money.  Show details

Good for money spent – Vacum was great. You got to keep it extra clean though other wise like people say it does get hot. I personaly have never had it over heat(and im cleaning a 4 bedroom house). I am a clean freak and clean it after every use! If your not willing to clean it often maybe not the vacum for you. Great suction. And i love the hand held vacuum.  Show details

Thor- A Dud and dangerous! – This vacuum is barely adequate, due to a tiny inlet after the hose, it clogs rapidly. But worst of all, it always overheats, and shuts down after less than 3 minutes. The exhaust is super hot, and the bottom gets so hot, I am surprised the plastic has not melted or deformed. THIS IS A DANGEROUS APPLIANCE, DON'T BUY IT, DON'T USE IT PIRANHA Should be required to recall these units, and compensateowners with a vac that works and is safe.  Show details

Dreadful waste of money – Not surprised it has been discontinued- after 1 6 months year has virtually died. Goes for 5 minutes then overheats and stops. This is despite careful cleaning of all filters, etc. It never had good suction. Bought it for about $120 at Big W. You get what you pay for but in this case I got a $20 vacuum cleaner for $120. Useless!  Show details

This thing really sucks, no, I mean it is very good – I see some have had some issues with their Thor EV500, but we have had ours now almost 12 months, and it's still going well. We ran it over carpet that an upright had been used on for many years, and this little sucker found more crud in the carpet than I care to admit to, either that or the upright was u/s. We got a bonus hand vac in the box… Read more

with this, and it does the car mats nicely.

Ok, both require cleaning after use, but then again, why wouldn't you clean them, why leave a heap of dust in the machine for however long between cleans. Not the healthiest way of doing it I think. After all, not everyone vacuums every couple of days.

Yes it gets a bit hot on the rear end, but after doing an 18 square home I'd expect it to be hot and bothered.

But in fact it never really gets bothered.

I was so impressed - no I didn't buy the company - I even did the vacuuming for the wife....

Alas they are out of production, some will say thank goodness, but I think ours is pretty darn good.

Keep the Canister clean and you Won't Have Problems – After a year's use I havent had any problems. I carefully read the manual and periodically cleans the canister and the filters. Sucks very well after a year's use. Excellent value and mine came with a hand vacuum which works well. Maneuvers ok and works well on my rugs, linoleom and carpets in my one bedroom apartment. Noise not any worse than others considering the power.  Show details

Vacuum that doesn't suck! – Terribly disappointed with this vacuum cleaner as the suction power only last for the first week and a wheel fell off. I clean it after every use and it has not improved the suction. Now three months old and it overheats and turns itself off after a couple of minutes. Save your money and buy something decent.

A $20 Vacuum Cleaner For $119 – For about a week it went fine but then lost all suction so won't even pick up a paper clip. The dirt canister is supposed to empty by pressing a button on the bottom but when my wife did this the whole thing fell apart. It is a nightmare to get back together and the manual is useless. Quality is terrible, made out of the flimsiest plastic. Try an… Read more

Poor Mans Dyson – I purchased this vacuum cleaner from Big W over 2 months ago and it is a fab machine it even came with a hand held plug in portable vacuum cleaner with the suction on that the same as the big vacuum. I call it the poor mans Dyson cause my carpet has never been sucked up like it has in it's life and the dust, etc. that it picks up is unbelievable.… Read more ·  2

After I finish with it I always clean it out and having the portable hand held one it's good with cleaning out the filters, etc. on the vacuum, it even came with a replacement filter which is good. The cord pulls out and retracts without a problem on mine, I do notice that it gets a bit hot but haven't had any problems with it overheating. The tubing is a bit short but that really does not bother me. The other vacuum cleaners I have had in the past come nowhere close to the suction on the Piranha I love it.

Fab machine!!! – This Vacuum is designed for ease of use. It's so easy my to empty and put together. I love it. The vacuum is value for money 180 bucks I'm not complaining. It does the same job as any other. Those people who are writting bad reviews need to clean the vacuum regularly and it will work perfectly.

Absolutely shocking – My mum had bought a piranha Thor 2400w I thought the suction was fantastic so I bought one myself from BigW unfortunately for $110 and it was great for the first week then it started doing a high pitched noise so I returned it & got a replacement wish I never did have only used it once since getting it replaced already no suction the high pitched… Read more

noise is back, the cord doesn't retract very well and it's over heating. I'm very disappointed it was absolutely shocking the second replacement was worst than the first one I bought I'll be taking this one back again and asking for my money i will never ever get another one. I expected better from the reviews I had herd.

I am now looking for another Hoover aquamaster which I had before that was fantastic and lasted 15-20 years. My advice to anyone else who owns one get rid of it or get ur money back if u can.

Disappointing – Runs hot, cord is too short and 'sticky' catches on everything. Convo tubing is too short and pulls you up all the time, can't reach up to ceiling or far up stairs. Push on fittings means everything is falling off all the time. Most aggravating is the slide on brush on small tool and the tool caddy itself. Suction is still reasonable although not… Read more

what it was originally, more you clean and empty cannister the easier it falls apart and ends up in more pieces than you intended.

waste of money – As previous reviews have said, works well for about 1 week then loses suction big time. The motor overheats after 10 minutes of vacuuming and cuts out. When emptying the canister the rubber seals fall out. It is difficult to put the canister back together. A job that should take 10 minutes ends up taking an hour. In short this vacuum is rubbish. everything

Piranha Thor bagless vacuum – This is the second Piranha vacuum I have purchased. the first vacuum didn't suck up the dust and dirt. The second Piranha vacuum I purchased is a Thor bagless vacuum and its impossible to empty the dirt and dust out of the filter where it stores as the dirt and dust gets stuck around the filter and its impossible to get it all out. It is very… Read more

frustrating so I would not recommend this product to anybody. I would never purchase another Piranha vacuum. I need to find a decent vacuum which works and I can empty the dust and dirt out of the vacuum completely. That would be very helpful. Not a lot. . The Piranha Thor vacuum has problems with emptying the dirt etc and gets caught up in the filter which is frustratin and impossible to retrieve. .

Works Great, then works terrible – We purchased the Thor from Big W and it worked abosultely great for the first few weeks, however after this is no longer works. We have lost suction and the dust canister now doesnt close properly. It has been heat affected by the amount of heat the vacuum produces and when we close the lid to it, it leaves a gap. I suspect this why the suction is… Read more

not as good as it used to be as we cant fully close of the dust canister. It used to suck up the lino flooring and now it hardly sucks anything up.

Heats up, bad suction after a few weeks. Waste of money

The cheapest way is never the cheapest way – The best part of owning this vacuum cleaner was throwing it into the bin (I would have donated it, however, I was genuinly concerned that it would become a safety risk). Firstly, it's overall performance is average and I was constantly having to go over the same spot multiple times. Also, it runs very hot; the heat from the motor has warped the… Read more

rear filter/vent and now the entire assembly pops off everytime we use the device for more than about 1 minute.

I have alsways maintained the machine and frequently cleaned the filters. Although this helps initially, the canister quickly becomes inneffective once it picks up some dust and the entire cyclonic process just stops.

I would recommend spending a little extra and getting a better quality product. It's a false economy to purchase such a cheap product only to have to replace it again months down the track.

Poor suction, poor floor attachment, runs hot.

Dusty and powerless – I want to vacuum the three large rugs I own then get on with the rest of my day. I reviewed cleaners in Choice that were OK for under $100. I bought the Piranha based on this review and it was a waste of time. It lost suction within 10 minutes and I emptied and fiddled with it three times achieving nothing but dusty hands. It is frustrating… Read more

trying to realign the bits that need to be screwed off to get to filters. The User Guide recommends washing the filter for optimum suction - who has time to do that?

What is most worrying was that it 'zapped' me several times as if it were collecting static electricity.

I packed it back in the box and returned it to Big W. The relatively low decibel count fees flimsy, needs emptying too often and filter needs washing!

Absolutely useless – The cleaner hardly picks up anything at all, even after going over the same spot a number of times. My carpet sweeper does a better job. Very disappointed. Very little suction

Best Vacuum ever. It beats any $700 machine hands down – Hi my mum purchased one of these last year as a back up for her dyson. She has always spent around 700 dollars on vacuum cleaners. She purchased this whilst her last dyson was being fixed. She has a massive house and vacuums 4 times a week and she says it the best she had ever had. They do however need the foam filter washed regularly as it can… Read more
