freezers going. But come 2025 my battery no longer works in black out the wifi won’t connect and my request to get a technician hasn’t happened. I have spoken ti someone twice who get you ti do rebooks etc which I have dine many times and it still doesn’t work. I was expecting a technician in April 2026 after a conversation with someone but it’s end of May no technician and no one returning calls or emails. So my review of this company is they want to suck you in but not follow through on maintenance and keeping people happy. I am about to go to the ombudsman as i don’t know why i am locked into a contact that they are not upholding their side of the deal.

blaming the weather. Frustratingly the forecast for the day is fine. When I pushed back they promised to call back first thing today 19/5 but did not. I have lost a day of work for this, and still have no installation date. I called and followed up and was told someone would call me. No-one did. I am a reasonable person, but this is appalling.
After 4 months delay they promised and booked installation day. About one week before got message and informed me that there's delay and installation will take place days later than planned. And, exactly it was supposed to happen yesterday. I was trying to contact them, via phone, email etc. Nothing. No response. Disaster experience

In the early days after the installation, things ran quite smoothly, but within a week the system was repeatedly shutting down. I relayed the problem to Plico who did some remote analysis , coming back and telling me that "...initial checks denote online and normal functioning."
I responded to this with further details as to what is happening (basically the solar panels simply stop providing power to the battery. My consumption from the grid is increasing over the past few days and my Self Sufficiency is at 75.27% over the past week. (It was sitting in the high 90's when it was first installed)
Today, not only was I not getting any solar power, but the system was drawing power from the grid to charge the battery. I hope that this is not normal and that some attention can be paid to the issue.

rejected the proposed battery placement, sat around for 2.5 hours waiting for instructions from his office, and then completely abandoned the job.
Since that day, I have had absolute silence from Plico. No follow-up, no new installation date, and management is entirely unreachable. To make matters worse, because of their endless delays, my finance company had to extend the loan offer twice, which has now directly damaged my credit rating. Working in the construction industry, I know exactly what proper site management, technical competence, and client communication look like. Plico has demonstrated none of it. If my company ran projects this way, we wouldn’t have a single client. Absolutely appalling. Avoid them.

on progress unless prompted. Now have a warranty issue waiting for new battery. Support email not responsive, average around two to three weeks to get back to you...if its a week count your blessings.
Our system has not worked properly the entire time we've owned the property. After I logged the fault, which i noticed after we were finally onboarded, follow up was very poor taking about a month or more, now coming on two months since update email with prompt for information two weeks ago so far unanswered. Can only assume battery is on a slow boat sailing the seven seas...they never miss a debit though.
Follow-up · follow up: Plico got in touch directly after this review was put up. Said battery had been delivered to installer the week previously, and installer is unable to install until end of January. Will update again once install complete. for now I'm upgrading the review from terrible to bad
Follow-up · Further update: it is now January 31st and have not heard from the warranty installer. Sent an email to plico during the week that has not been responded to. Im downgrading the service back to terrible

and decided it was time to look into installing solar panels for my home. I reached out to six different companies for quotes. Most of them were focused on selling – pushing products, packages, cheap panels and deals. Then I met Jasmine Gosney from Plico.
From our very first conversation, it was evident that Jasmine approached things differently from the rest. She didn’t try to sell me anything. Instead, she took the time to educate me about the various options, how solar and batteries work, what to expect, and how to get the best value. Once I confirmed my order in April, the solar panels (6.6kW) were installed within just a week – fast, efficient, and with no damage at all to my roof tiles. A few weeks later, after my rebate came through, they installed the 10kWh battery system and upgraded solar to 9.6kw.
Now, everything is up and running beautifully. The system is smooth, stable, and we’re already saving around $8 per day, even with full usage.

can’t get anyone to call us despite logging tickets and emailing them. please don’t sign up with them, once they have your money weekly they don’t give a d#mn. This has been going on since 2020 so it’s not a new problem with them. Maintenance and servicing provided with our contract? No they don’t. They’ve never been here since install. And with a serious problem they don’t care. AVOID at all costs.

no proper operation of the systems. Despite contacting Plico support multiple times since February, I have received nothing but empty promises. I was repeatedly told that a technician would be sent out, yet months later, no one has shown up and no solution has been provided.
This situation is unacceptable, especially because both properties are tenanted. My tenants specifically rented homes with solar panels and battery systems, and I am now left dealing with their complaints and dissatisfaction while Plico fails to act.
The lack of accountability, poor communication, and complete inaction from Plico Energy is extremely frustrating. I would not recommend their services to anyone based on this experience. If you expect timely support or reliable system performance, look elsewhere.

call centre where you rarely end up talking to a person on the Plico side.
In the first days of November 2025 we starting realising we were having battery issues, and finally figured out (ourselves) that our battery was not fully charging - this was costing us money as it was preventing us from using the full capacity of energy storage. We started the process of getting help for this issue on 9 November 2025,, receiving an email response on 13 November informing us they were working with the manufacturer. On 1 December 2025 we received a follow-up email confirming that “the batteries appears to have gone faulty”, and advising us of the next steps. It was 8 December by the time we had a site visit.
At the site visit all four of the installed batteries were removed: two faulty - we were told that they were ‘bulging’ - and two at risk of failure. The warranty replacement was approved by the manufacturer by December 10, and we received a further email informing us of a timeline of “a couple of weeks to a couple of months for the replacement parts to arrive in Australia.”
The next communication from the company did not arrive until 19 February 2026, which was an email we received after calling for an update. At this point, the timeline became less clear, stating the manufacturer had “informed us that parts will arrive, but they have yet to provide us a timeline”.
I have not had any communications from Plico technical support since this email, despite calling the support line multiple times and emailing the support staff. In a call on 14 April we were informed that they are in communication weekly with the manufacturer, yet we had to call repeatedly before we could even get this vague information.
We are now up to 127 days without batteries, all during Summer and early Autumn. Unfortunately, we have transitioned from a place of being proud of the decision to go with Plico, supporting a local company with initiatives like the VPP, to regret as we are paying for a service that is not being delivered and administration of a VPP program we can’t be involved in. At this point we estimate that being without our batteries has cost us an over $1000 in extra electricity expenses as well as payment for services not being received. We are now investigating how to lodge a complaint Consumer Protection regarding this issues. We sadly cannot recommend Plico anymore.

Was booked in for battery install on Tuesday (10th Feb) after applying in October last year. There were several delays including Xmas/New Year closure. Another delay with Western Power approval. qualified to do the meterbox upgrade. Now waiting for a response to ensure the upgrade and installation goes smoothly next time. Haven't had them respond to emails or a phone call. With today's technology one would think their response times would be faster and they would put some effort in to sort out any problems. When I was booked in I was told there were available time slots all this week and all next week. There was no co-ordination between the installers and the person responsible for the meter upgrade and was told that it would be a Plico contractor that would perform the meter upgrade. The company definitely lacks any quality customer service. They also stuffed up my son's install and they haven't even booked him in to fix the problem. They really don't seem to be interested in customer satisfaction at all. I suppose if they want their money, then they should fix things.

However, what began as a reporting problem uncovered a far more serious and concerning failure. During their visit, subcontractors discovered that all four battery units were swollen and required immediate removal, and that one battery had not been charging for some time. This explains the sharp year-on-year increase in our power bills beginning in January 2025.
We have since been advised by two independent solar electricians and a member of Plico’s own staff that these Redback battery systems have been failing widely. Apparently, they are being replaced “by the pallet load.” Swollen batteries are a recognised safety risk. Customers cannot inspect their own batteries, and Plico is aware of this limitation. Despite this, Plico did not proactively contact customers, arrange inspections, or warn us of potential safety risks.
Two more weeks have passed since the subcontractors attended, and we have received no timeframe for replacement batteries or even resolution of the original reporting issue. We are currently without battery storage, backup power, or system reporting.
Our faulty batteries are not an isolated occurrence. They are a known issue that Plico has acknowledged internally (both verbally and in writing) yet has taken no meaningful action to address.
We have now lodged a complaint with Consumer Protection WA (Department of Local Government, Industry Regulation and Safety). We have been advised that if sufficient complaints are received, a broader investigation may be initiated.
If you are a Plico customer experiencing reporting issues, unexplained bill increases, or battery problems and, like us, are receiving no resolution through Plico’s internal complaints process, we strongly encourage you to also contact Consumer Protection WA so these systemic issues can be properly investigated.

Industry delays are understandable. Silence and lack of transparency are not.
If Plico wants to deliver the “best experience,” they need to start by communicating honestly with their customers and actually keeping them updated. So far, it has been the complete opposite.

our Plico battery can be used to supply to the regional grid, when there is extreme demand such as during a heatwave we are informed by email and SMS to let us know that our battery is going to be accessed (and that we'll get paid too). Knowing that our home's installation contributes to Plico's larger community energy provision makes me feel comfortable that our system is running well and that any problems with battery or panels will be recognised sooner rather than later.
Since installation I would say 98% of our power has been generated by our panels and we've exported at least 20kWh most days. Our house is small and designed with energy efficiency in mind, but I know that when we invest in an electric vehicle we'll have ample solar generation available. I have a small child and knowing that I am doing what I can to make their future safer is really important. Installing solar with Plico was a no-brainer.
If I owned investment property I would definitely consider installing Plico there too as the billing arrangement makes it a simple way to provide tenants with energy security and for the pricing to be clear to both parties while increasing the appeal and value of the property longer term.
