Plumbing Bros

I had to get my kitchen tap repaired and was over quoted. The plumber also installed the hot and cold taps the opposite way. When I called up to mention this and to replace the tap to a better quality worth the price I paid the secretary was extremely rude and yelled through the phone. They messaged to say a plumber will be out to fix the tap correctly but the plumbers never came. Very disappointed with this experience and would not reccomend

Our plumbing problem was fixed quickly and very professionally today by a PB plumber called Lock. I hope I’ve spelled his name correctly! He was from the Perth office. This is the second time we’ve used PB. The are clean, accurate and on time. I strongly recommend them.

Awful Experience – My Experience with this lot was awful they charged us $600 just to unblock a toilet they was only there for 15 mins n the call out fee was $160 and they said it was $65 every 15 mins when I called them it got worse from there I had to deal with the most rudest woman over the phone who ended up hanging up on me all because I asked for an invoice… Read more

better than our comparable quotes so we jumped on board!

Our initial experience was incredible. The team came out to help guide us through what needed to be done and which products would be required- specifically providing recommendations on products that would suit the layout & format etc. Following this our first couple of visits all went to plan and the experience was great.

Where we have run into issues and why we would not use Plumbing Bros again- 1. For the final visit the plumber was running extremely late, we were the ones having to chase up the business to find out where they were. Even when we got an automated message to say he was on his way he was still an hour and a half late. Again we were the ones calling and chasing to find out what was happening- which is particularly frustrating when you are trying to plan and balance multiple trades. 2. The final invoice we received was 40% higher than the initial estimate. No warning, no discussion when on site, nothing to suggest that there would be a higher cost required than the estimate. Their terms and conditions do identify that you should factor in extra costs for anything unexpected etc. So we factored in 20% thinking we would be safe. At no point across any of the four visits was it indicated that extra costs were being incurred outside of one comment that a particular toilet was harder to install than expected. (incidentally the toilet they recommended)

When I queried the quote I was informed (politely) that their terms and conditions allow for extra costs and that there was greater work required than expected on the estimate. Twice I requested an explanation of what was different from the estimate to the invoice to receive; one vague answer, and then nor response.

We cannot fault the quality of work completed, the communication for the most part was great, and in three out of four instances the tradesman were on time. I would warn when engaging with these guys though to ensure that there are strict communication requirements applied should they be going outside of cost. (EG at the outset ensure that any costs outside of the estimate need to be approved) Had we been consulted on the 40% increase against estimate it would have come as less of a shock and it would not have negatively impacted the experience like it had. So fair warning they are great tradesman but communication is an issue. We would not be using Plumbing Bros again.

Terrible, never again !!! – They did not provide a quote in advance. Proceed to do additional repairs without authorization. Tried to get payment in cash, without providing any itemised invoice. Later, overcharged parts cost in about 100% compared to market, and overcharged on labour time (3 hours, instead of 2). Contacted them multiple times to discuss, never replied back and never contacted me back. Terrible business model, I will never do business with them again.

Plumbing Bros Redland Bay - NO WARRANTY!! – I recently had two leaking downpipes repaired by Plumbing Bros Redland Bay (job no. J6667) in December 2023 and found both leaking in March 2024. trading and as the warranty obligation is with them, I now have no warranty. When I asked if another franchisee could help me with warranty repairs, I was again told that is not possible. I then asked for a refund as I now have to engage another plumbing company to have the work repaired. Company response was "sorry, no"

Obviously I'm very disappointed. I opted to engage with a large business as I assumed I would supported by national network in case of any issues.

quote for the replacement of the gas cooker completely. I received a quote from them for the requested services and asked the agent to go ahead with the repairs. They had attended the property to provide the quote. But what I received instead was a bill from Plumbing and Bro for: attended the property, identified what the problem was.

I received another bill few months later. They were claiming that they had ordered a “suitable replacement” and because it didn’t work, they ordered another one matching the existing??? that didn’t work either…. Charging me for not fixing the oven? What’s a point of providing a quote to fix something if you are going to exceed it??? Yet not fixing the problem at the end???? I could have just replaced the cooker at the beginning if the issue was not fixable or I knew it would take so long…. that’s why I had requested replacement quote as well.

Don’t let me started on the lousy response I got when I asked for the cost/details of the replacement…

Don't do it – $1600 for drilling two holes and connecting a tap and washing machine. Washing machine did not work 'cos I fixed it myself simple google query "did u drill the spigot out?". Oh there we go I removed the S bend and drilled out the spigot all working now. PB came back asking if all good I said yeagh fixed it myself their response? "That's great all working Bye". !!!

Beware the pricing is massive – Commissioned by real estate agent. Unscrewed aerator from tap, flushed out debris, screwed aerator back on tap, charged $176. Gold Coast. Buyer beware

Beware they are heavy handed with their prices – I had a blocked sewer drain and the plumber who came out did remove the blockage. He put the metal snake down the sewer pipe but wasn't long enough to reach the front inspection point so decided to ring is college who was suppose to be nearby for extra section to finish the inspection. whilst he did nothing at $45.00 for 15 minutes total $90 dollars plus GST. I feel he should not charged me for that 1/2 hour. Bit of a money grab. There's lot of unscrupulous trade's people out there taking advantage of customers. Hard to find a good trade's person or company. I have had discussions with management of this company and was advised that the plumber billed for the whole time he was on site. It took him 20 minutes to calculate the bill and I had to pay for that. This company is only interested in billing for as much time as possible. Even if they stop for morning tea. Reconsider calling this company for any service.

WARNING WARNING – Be very careful when dealing with this company - do your due diligence BEFORE you engage their services . A slick website & promises galore are no guarantee of honesty & ethical behaviour. In the past a man's word was his bond but this company says one thing & then does another. Relevant authorities are aware of this company's lack of standards and failure to adhere to legal standards.

Shocking customer service, not customer focused at all, 5 star service? we didn't care much about as we just needed the drip fixed. The new leak which we never had prior coming from the hose under the sink then sprayed water in my cupbords right next to a powerboard which was not on at the time, I had to empty entire cupboard, throw out medications, several electrical items were soaked in water. Wrote to them on facebook, sent photos of damage And informed them the powerboard was wet. Recieved a call from an operating manager who said he'd get the plumber out, plumber came, fixed the issue. Never heard a word from anyone about my electrical goods that were soaked in water. I had to call these people twice there after to ASK for a apology and resolution which was to ensure our children or myself wouldn't get electrocuted if we used the powerboard.. 'Operations manager' said yes, I'll get back to you about our in house electrician coming to look at it for you. Again, waited, no call, so I called again to whom I spoke to some other guy with attitude saying he knew nothing of it, had no record of an electrician organsied and asked what I wanted? First of all, I wanted an apology, not attitude, blaming ME for some issues THEY caused, then gave me attitude for trying to ensure I check to ensure nobody gets electricuted after their muck up. i said I was unhappy about the way it was handelled being the consumer having to chase up an issue they caused. He did not care and trying to get an apology or acknowledgment or any kind of accountability for the situation was like pulling teeth. Absolutely disgusting customer service and lack of communication Within the company. End result. No apology, just a 'well ok, sorry for the miscommunication' and I had to waste MY time chasing them up for a resolution to something they did and I had paid for? The audacity of these guys is disgusting. I took to their facebook regarding my experience and left a review, I had someone from their Facebook account message me to say I am ungrateful and that my house needs to be 'tidier' next time (I have 2 children under 2) and that my warranty will be voided which was assumed to be some kind of threat. Not sure why I should be grateful when they caused an issue I never had in the first place. They also joked about my damaged items being 'Toys' when there were electrical items of value included in the items that were later checked by the electrician. Electrician came and happened to leave his equipment here over the weekend. I was more than accomodating to help him obtain his equipment promtly despite the issue. One item damaged (hair curler) was tested and said by the electrician to be broken and someone would be back to me about compensation. Almost 6 weeks later and I get a letter mailed to us, incorrect name, yet they had our name from our bank account transaction and invoice (quick to take our money though not caring at all about client details) for $25 off our next plumbing service! You have to be kidding me. Absolute joke. Totally unprofessional and unacceptable behaviour for a business e who prides themselves on 5 star service. And these reviews and their comments and responses are public on their social media. No shame and no clue how to effectively resolve customer complaints and issues they cause. BEWARE AND STAY AWAY. Family I have spoken to about this have shared their stores of unprofessionism with this company also. Spend your hard earned money with people who value your business and who treat you with respect!

Charge for quote – Asked Plumbing Bros for a quote. Yes they turned up, told me what was wrong and then sent me a bill for $108. BEWARE! they charge for quotes! I am very disappointed.
