What a rip off!
What's with the10 yr guarantee claim!!!!!!
As other reviews- surface of sticky black gooo. So perished it's leaving the black residue on the courtyard bricks, hands, deck - which i can't remove. Unusable. Shame also on BUNNINGS for not even acknowledging that they stocked it- doesnt appear on their data base....anymore.... No receipt so I'm going directly to POPE Australia.
Waste of money
If only i had read these reviews first ! Same as all the above comments, black sticky substance on the hose. Bought the "Anti Kink " what a joke. Think this hose kinks more than the cheapest hose that Bunnings sell. Definitely wont be purchasing anything that has Pope on it

Would Not Buy Again
Brought 2 of these Pope Storm heavy duty hoses in 35 meter length from Bunnings in 2017, so just over 2 years old & I have the same problem on both as previously mentioned by other poster. They are both covered in black sticky gum so that your hands get covered in black gunk every time I use them. They don't seem to like the sun!
Paid $139 each for them thinking they would last as they have lifetime guarantee. Not worth the money. Can only find one receipt so can't return them. Would appreciate my money back or two new hoses to replace them that will last more than a year or two.
Can't seem to buy a decent hose these days.
Poor Quality - Very disappointing- GroPro Storm 20 meter hose
The Pope Storm GroPro deteriorated over time leaving a horrible sticky black residur over the hose, as soon as you touch it your hands are covered with a tar like substance. I bought two of these 20 meter hoses and I'm very disappointed. Went back to Bunnings but as they can't trace when I bought them and I have no receipt I can't get them replaced. Bunnings can't even find this product on their system, so I can only think it has beed withdrawn. Don't always think buying expensive products guarantees quality !!
I bought a Pope hose on a 2 way reel. It is ideal for what I wanted in my courtyard. However the tap attachment unscrews when the reel is moved around and the sprayer fitting cannot be adjusted from a full stream. Great idea, lousy cheap fittings

Hose Pope BILLABONG
I bought this 15m POPE BILLABONG hose at BUNNINGS, which has Perma-fit connections and a 20 year warranty a few weeks ago. It has a good feel, soft and is 9 on the kink resistant scale. However, it is very flexible, like spaghett, getting twists and tangles in it constantly where I wanted to use it. I have a brass pre-fitted connector(also bought at Bunnings) that blow off as obviously the tolerance isn't right. I toyed with changing the tap fitting with a normal type to use their connector and have also purchase a new tap if the replacement ho...se is similarly affected. The overall frustrations with the the twists and the care putting it away wasn't what I was looking for, so returned it explaining what the issues were to the store man. He suggested a Pope BRUMBY, which was slightly more expensive that I will give a go. It is a bit stiffer as I hope it doesn't have the same issues, however it is little less on the kink scale. I had a misunderstanding of what was the kink scale was, and thought it had do with a twist scale. However, it has to do with getting permanent kinks in the hose and nothing to do with twists. I was always buy premium hoses, but am prepared to look at other solutions. With a number of hoses around the property, Ive found the NYLEX Triple Flex has given me good service so far. In this case of the POPE BILLABONG wasn't fit for purpose, and appreciated BUNNINGS for assisting me with a replacement. Lets hope it works out!
Pope hose failure
My 35m Permafit Gropro Storm hose from Pope (purchased at Bunnings) has deteriorated after 2yrs. There is a sticky residue all over the hose and it has burst a few times. Each time it burst it wasted water as the leak went undetected for a whole day. The sticky residue not only is hard to remove from your hands, it has damaged my timber floor boards. I have now returned my hose to Bunnings and i am awaiting their response on warranty.
Very poor quality for the price you pay for the product!
Given that the Pope website and packaging states that their products are of good quality is very misleading because here I have a Pope hose pipe which I have used moderately and taken good care of it when not in use to find that the fitting that connects the hose pipe to the tap has the thread worn out. Before that, the fitting used to leak and sometimes give in to the water pressure from the tap to burst out spraying water everywhere.
Why not make your connectors and fittings non rusting metal or copper? I wont be buying Pope again. I would rather go with a company that actually sells good quality products and delivers on its promise on their claims of providing a good quality product.

Garden hose not good due to curling and kinking
It was the most expensive 12 mm dia garden hose at Bunnings ($135 for 35m length) and had a kink resistance of 10. When the hose receives water pressure, it curls up and kinks like a dying tiger snake. When the water pressure is released, the hose uncurls. The hose is too soft and flexible, and is like a rubber band. It is no good as a garden hose as you are always fighting the curls and kinks. I have scrapped mine (bought Sep 2017).
I bought one of these and within weeks, one of the hose attachments broke, and also the hose gun begun leaking. I had to replace the attachment, and the gun leak only got worse to the point of being unusable within a year or so. My sister has also bought a hose reel from Pope, which failed immediately after purchase. Not worth the money, seems a very high failure rate
hose attachments : slipping/fastening/clamping.
So your hose keeps blowing or slipping off the connector under pressure. How do you fix this without buying those $135 special hoses. It's so simple, you can fix this problem for about $4.
I live in an area where the water pressure is very high. Whenever a kink developed the hose would blow off at either the tap or hand piece.(you know what I mean). I now never have that problem and can leave the hose on all day and it will not blow. In fact I could tow a car with the hose and couplings
All I've used is the blue PVC pipe joining liquid (u...sed by plumber to fasten plastic pipes. For the less experienced here are the details. Making sure that the hose and connector are dry paint the inside of the hose with a thin layer of blue glue. Then paint the inside surface of the hose fitting with the same glue, Fit the hose into the hose fitting in the normal manner according to the manufacturers instruction. Don't delay between application of the glue and joining; as the glue goes off within a minute. Remember to fit your screw on bit first. And yes you cant take them off once set. The hose fittings I'm talking about are relatively cheap so once fitted that's it. I allowed a day's rest before using the hose. That was two years ago and it has not blown off since. Make sure you do the same for both ends of the hose and any other connectors or couplings in between. This same principle could be used for garden irrigation/ spray and drip systems.
Great Hose but cheap Fittings
Purchased 2 of the more expensive Pope Spectrum garden hoses with Crimped Fittings and 15 Year warranty but the fittings on one the hoses has fallen to bits ! It is used for Used for domestic purposes ! Have had to cut the end fitting off and replace with a screw on fitting which was the main reason for the addition expense in buying a quality hose. I cut the fitting off to complete the work I was doing but now Very disappointed that Bunnings have advised that the warranty does not cover the end fittings????
