I bought a hose that was braided at both sides believing that this hose would stay in place but it didn’t and it leaked water for hours before I realised it very disappointed will never buy pope again
Got the Pope Century 12mm hose via Bunnings. I figured by paying more I would get a better product. Worst hose ever. Terrible, just terrible. Kinked straight out of the packaging. Can't roll it up. Heavy. Useless. Can't believe this product continues to be made and sold. Do yourself a favour. Buy something else - anything else! I fail to understand in what universe this product is practical, useful, and worth the price it sells for. Show details
Fed up with kinking hoses and recommended a non kink hose (Pope Legacy 12mm) from Bunnings staff. It's a scam to upsell. It kinked on very first use and kinks as much as the cheap ones. This was a very expensive and I thought I'd keep persevering. I should have returned it. It's overpriced and not worth the money over a cheap hose. Don't believe the marketing or you will just waste your money. Show details

just not good enough Pope – Bought a Pope Pinnacle 12mm 30m hose at Bunnings a year or so ago. Worked reasonably well, but....... the whole length of the hose is now covered with a sticky residue which makes it unusable without gloves. This residue is quite hard to wash off your hands. What the *** is it ? Is it dangerous ? Clearly this hose is not suited to the hot… Read more
Australian climate. It couldn't have been tested to any degree.
Whats frustrating is this issue has been raised on this platform a number of times in the past , but Pope and Bunnings continued to sell the product.
Cant find the receipt, so no chance of a refund.
So, a new hose it is, not a Pope and (probably) not from Bunnings.
Would Not Buy Again – Brought 2 of these Pope Storm heavy duty hoses in 35 meter length from Bunnings in 2017, so just over 2 years old & I have the same problem on both as previously mentioned by other poster. They are both covered in black sticky gum so that your hands get covered in black gunk every time I use them. They don't seem to like the sun! Paid $139 each… Read more
for them thinking they would last as they have lifetime guarantee. Not worth the money. Can only find one receipt so can't return them. Would appreciate my money back or two new hoses to replace them that will last more than a year or two.
Can't seem to buy a decent hose these days.

Excellent Customer Service – Had a problem with Pope’s Permafit Flexihose with the end constantly blowing off after 8 yrs with a 20 yr warranty. Customer Service was very helpful authorising a replacement from Bunnings without receipt or without hassle. Just hope the replacement Pinnacle hose is just as good as the last hose.
Exceptional Customer Service and Durable Garden Hose – I purchased the 12mm Legacy Garden Hose nearly four years ago, and it has been a reliable addition to my gardening tools. However, recently, it developed a small leak, which prompted me to contact Pope’s customer service. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised by the outstanding service I received from Renee. Renee promptly addressed my issue… Read more
and sent me a new hose without hesitation. Her efficiency and professionalism left a lasting impression on me. It’s rare to encounter such exceptional customer service these days, and I highly appreciate Pope’s commitment to customer satisfaction.
In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend Pope’s 12mm Legacy Garden Hose not only for its quality but also for the outstanding customer service provided by Renee. It’s a testament to Pope’s commitment to their customers, and I will continue to choose their products for my gardening needs in the future.

Rubbish – Bought one today and will return to Bunnings tomorrow. It had kinks in it before I rolled it out. When I rolled it out and tried to put on a hose reel it kept kinking. Show details
Disappointed – Disappointed in Pope 12mm Handy garden hose. Kinks constantly no matter how many times I lay it out full length in the sun. Every time I water it coils up and kinks when I am pulling along when watering. Pope years ago usec to be a good choice but no longer. Show details
Don’t buy Pope garden products – Hose very expensive, very poor quality, kinks very easy& basically extremely poor value. I find all Pope garden products very poor. Show details

Pope have given up on quality – I have always found Pope to be the best in hose fittings. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case. I bought a pack of 2 different squirter. The first one stopped working properly after a few uses. Couldn't stop the auto squirter without turning it off at the tap, now the second one is squirting crookedly. I'm also finding the fittings are… Read more
leaking at both ends. The seals are obviously 2nd rate. They used to be quality products but I think they've decided to use cheaper fittings or they're cutting corners somewhere. They haven't got any cheaper in price though. I won't be buying any more pope products until I see some 5 star reviews.
No thanks – O bought a pope permerfit brand hose. Within a week of use the plastic connector broke off in my hand, while using a trigger nozzle spray. This then presented me with a very vigorously fast moving wild and unpredictable, now steel tipped hose end. When t took it back to Bunnings at Edgeworth they would not help me. I was not happy but accepted it… Read more
is a simple fix, right? This type of hose will not grip to even the most highest quality fittings. Blowing off in my hand randomly. And today a hole in the very centre of the hose blew out. In conclusion "PERMERFIT" is not fit for purpose and false advertising. It is not permanently fitted or is it UV stable. I keep this hose in the shed. It wasn't cheap. But????
The worst thing I have bought in decades – Absolute rubbish. I purchased this item at beginning of this year 2024. I bought Pope, as in my mind, it has always been a "quality" brand. How wrong I was. I connected the hose, initially to a low pressure water tank. I was disappointed, in so much, I have never had a more "kinking" hose. Then, I attached it to mains water outlet. Within an… Read more
hour, the hose burst, gushing water everywhere. I might add, I have a Holman hose attached to the same system, for the last 20 years, this hose is still going strong, never kinks and yet, as it is used to water plants on my deck, it is subject mains pressure 24/7. The spray nozzle being used to turn the water off. I contacted Pope, my comments were totally ignored. That they advertise this hose as, low kink, with a 15 year warranty is, in my opinion, an absolute lie. Pope, in my mind, should be banned from the shelves of any retail outlet.
Very disappointing Pope Jackaroo hose – I bought a Pope Jackaroo 15m whilst on holidays to wash my boat. I followed the instructions to unroll it for a day before i used it but during it's first use it developed three twists/kinks that I cannot remove. In my view it is the worst hose i have known. an absolute waste of money and a great disappointment. Pope should be ashamed to have their name on it and I will view each of their products with suspicion in future.
Pope Pinnacle Entire Hose Covered in Sticky Goo – I bought a Pope Pinnacle Hose from Bunnings about two years ago, thinking that it was worth paying top dollar to get a decent hose. It did work well for a year or so, now the entire length is covered with a sticky residue that is almost impossible to get off your hands or clothing. It is completely unusable. Show details
30m Pope Garden Hose – Very!! Very!! Disappointed with the quality and the so called 5year warranty. Hose always kinked and split after 6 months in the shade area of our house. Bunnings were not interested without a receipt. Very poor customer service. Never buying a Pope again. Show details
1 star is many – Their crimp-on end hose leaks past the crimp so bad I need gum boots on to turn the hose on. I normally don't write reviews but at 3 weeks to get back to me only to say take it back where you got it... I can see why people don't like them on-line now. It was 5 weeks old. I feel 1 star is to much for this product. Show details
Worst hose – I bought this pope garden hose what a heap of rubbish Continually kinked(even after leaving in sun) Water pressure is extremely poor I would advise others to think carefully about buying this hose
Disappointed with Pope – Purchased 2 hoses, one for the house and another stayed in garage and only used for washing car. The house hose came apart(reinforced layer and black rubber part) then leaked. Couldn't actually see where the hole was in the black section only where the water came out of the reinforced section so I used the other hose. While using the other hose it… Read more
kinked and developed a 20mm split spraying water everywhere, when I checked it I noticed how thin the hose wall actually were. They are made to fail. Don't have the receipts for hoses so I cannot be bothered with even trying to replace them, what for it will still be the same substandard product and they would fail again. Very sad Pope.

Almost like it was designed to kink – I wish I had read these reviews before buying the hose. So frustrating to run it out and look back to see a line of kinks. I don't even know how they managed to make a hose that kinks so much, unless it was intended as a joke. Show details
A real problem. Less than satisfactory – I have a problem with the 'top of the range' kink free Pope hose purchased from Bunnings about 2020. It has developed a sticky residue that is resistant to all forms of removal which makes it difficult to wind, and hard to remove from your hands. I may have to cut the affected 3 m or so off and re- fit the attachments. I too have lost the receipt,… Read more
and can't identify the product number. It is a very soft and pliable grey reinforced hose, which if it weren't for this sticky breakdown type material fault, would be very satisfactory. Certainly the most 'kink free' hose I have ever purchased. Does the manufacturer have any explanation?
Connection lasted just over one month – The advert states that you never have problems with Pope hose connections. I bought my Pope auto wind hose reel from Bunnings - after a few weeks the connection failed and I had to go out and buy another connection (NOT from Pope). How do companies manage to advertise such rubbish! Show details
Garbage – Brought the Pope Brumby thinking it was a good brand and product, how wrong as I! The brass fitting fell off pretty quickly and the nature of them means you can’t just put them back on. Two end adapters later and the hose was back up and running only to fail six months later with a blow out mid hose. I cut the blown out bit out and joined the hose… Read more
back together, this lasted a week before another blow out. Hose is now in the bin along with my trust in the Pope brand.
The hose connections are rubbish! – None of the fittings actually work, everything leaks from the wall tap connection to the end of the hose attachment which blows off the hose with the smallest amount of pressure. I’ll never buy another Pope brand product again. So frustrating! Surely a company as large as pope would do some testing before releasing their products. Show details
Worst hose on the market – The Pope True Blue is the worst hose I’ve ever used. It continually kinks while being used. Doesn’t matter how carefully you wind it up it still kinks. A total waste of money. Show details
Aweful…useless rubbish – You just look at it and it kinks. With tap turned on it kinks easily. I’ve used better hoses from the $2 shop. Absolute rubbish and a waste of $50 Show details
Chinese Rubbish cheap crap fittings – Don’t pay good dollars for this product!! This use to be quality but now to save a few dollars they have dropped there standards on quality. There is other good products for the same or even less. Show details
Absolute garbage – Bought the more expensive pope brand, after a month of using the perma fit connection continued to blow off at any water level, pope always had a good name but now see its rubbish, avoid and buy a different brand. As with other reviews the lifetime warranty is valid if you keep your receipt, keeping a hose receipt for a life time seems reasonable.
Best hose I've ever bought – I've owned my Pope hose for about 3 years. It's the best hose I've ever bought and will by Pope again. The house is flexible and once the water pressure is in the hose, there is very little kink. It can happen but I am very pleased that kink is rare compared to some dreadful hoses. I recomend the soft Pope hoses, my fav.
Pope Grey Complete Reel – Bought this expensive hose just for car wash. It sits in the garage after every car wash and not exposed to sun or any outside elements. It didn't even last 3 years and it started leaking on it's own with water pressure. Inspected and found it had a small puncture when it was just coiled under the reel. Tried to get a refund from Bunnings and that… Read more
was a mission. They said it is more than 2 years old and only can provide an exchange which I refuse. After reading the reviews here, I have lost confidence in this product and intend to stay away from this product. The Bunnings staff even asked me to deal with Pope directly which I refuse. Bunnings want to sell them but not willing to honour Pope's 10 year hose warranty. What a shame!
What a rip off! – What's with the10 yr guarantee claim!!!!!! As other reviews- surface of sticky black gooo. So perished it's leaving the black residue on the courtyard bricks, hands, deck - which i can't remove. Unusable. Shame also on BUNNINGS for not even acknowledging that they stocked it- doesnt appear on their data base....anymore.... No receipt so I'm going directly to POPE Australia. Show details
Waste of money – If only i had read these reviews first ! Same as all the above comments, black sticky substance on the hose. Bought the "Anti Kink " what a joke. Think this hose kinks more than the cheapest hose that Bunnings sell. Definitely wont be purchasing anything that has Pope on it Show details
