Pope Water Weeper

Not merchanable, Not recommended – Just purchased and placed in my veggie patch and the water doesn’t reach the end of the hose and it looks like it’s got pin holes randomly along it. It doesn’t weep it floods areas & no water in other sections. I will be returning it to Bunnings! Save your money Show details
Terrible product – Got this as a Xmas gift. Turned it on first time, minimum water pressure and it immediately sprung a leak. Of course no receipt as was gift, what a waste!
Cracked in a couple of places – Newly installed hose just cracked in a couple of places.Had to redo the whole lot waste of time and money. Cracks up on the green strip on the hose.Holman and Gardena are much better. Show details

Great water saving – I bought a 15 metre holman dripping hose 2 years ago, coiled it around a rosewood tree and covered it with mulch, it is so effective in keeping the tree green all year round i have since purchased a 30 metre for the garden bed and installed it in a single line, watering for 20 min twice a week our water bill is $120 for each quarter now, the… Read more
product performs as it should even after two years +, i regularly inspect and no issues found. highly reccomend go for the holman instead
This has been a lifesaver – I have a big backyard and am this has been a lifesaver for the plants . it saves me time and is allowed in water restriction ( because its drip not spray ) . had no trouble with mine except one lengthways slit which i bound up with some high quality tape Show details
Great product – I bought two of these the 30m and 15m. The key is to take the time to unwind & lay them out in the sun for a few hours before laying out in the garden, this helps prevent any kinks, which in turn will lessen the risk of any splitting taking place due to weakening of the hose. They also have the benefit of being able to cut the hose & run several T-connectors for even more effective watering where it's needed. Show details · 1

Pope...you've shamed yourself and destroyed a trusted brand name. I'll never buy anything else from you – I have had weeper hoses in my large front garden for at least a decade and have never had any issues with them. I don't remember what brand they were, but when I went to purchase a couple of new ones for the back garden I bought these Pope weepers knowing I was buying a quality product. How wrong I was! The hoses started to spring leaks within… Read more
weeks of installing them. Patching only fixes for a short while before other major leaks appear in different areas. I should have known something was up when I noticed the three restrictor discs supplied with the hose. They're to be used to reduce the water pressure from the tap as the hose is too CHEAP and NASTY to handle normal water pressure. Comparing the thickness of the hoses to the ones I bought a decade ago the walls of the Pope hoses appear to be about 50% thinner than the old ones. Foreign rubbish product. To make yourself a couple of extra dollars on every sale you've destroyed a trusted brand name. You've burned me for life. I'll never buy your products again.
Pay the money and get a Gardena. It'll save you in the end – Third replacement of hose. each time, neatly laid out along the flower beds, gently tucked under a light covering of bark. Turn on and about a week later small splits keep appearing along the green stripes. Pressure well within tolerances. This time it will be removed and Never again will i use pope. Show details
Pope Weeper Hose – This hose spit at the fitting within a month of use. I have had another brand that are still in use after three years which I could not buy at Bunnings. I thought Pope might be a reliable brand, not in the case of this product however.

Disappointing – Needed something I could install in my garden that was able to set and forget. I am not at the property that often and bought a number of items, spent half a day installing only to realise a week or so later that it does not work on low flow water. The Water Weeper hose is connected to a timer then connected to the tank. Unfortunately it only… Read more
weeps when water come from the pressure pump but but not just the tank (pressurised). I need something that would reliably keep my garden damp and this product doesn't work on a gravity fed tank.
Waste of money – Purchased x2 systems from Bunnings around 6 weeks ago. Installed and only run them twice a week (use a hose on weekends). Turned on this morning & water was spraying from the connection - The hose has split at the crimped fitting. Cant find the receipt (always happens). Lesson learnt!!!!! Show details

Terrible Product – I bought 3 Pope Water Weeper hoses and if I had of looked at the reviews I definitely would not have purchased them. All 3 hoses have split within 6 months rendering them useless. I bought the Pope brand thinking I was purchasing a well known, reliable brand, unfortunately this was not the case. Show details

After 8 weeks blew a hole – Paid extra for a "premium" product at bunnings. Was initially fine. Then after several weeks it started squirting water out middle of the hose length...i mean, a lot of water. Basically instead of weeping it blew some blowholes meaning its no longer a weeper. Not going to dig the whole run up, so will have to cut it and joint it because it can't… Read more
be patched. Annoying and frustrating.
Very poor product.
Update 1/02... after paying for a pope connector and fixing the problem, it then blew more holes near the end stop.
Of course the end stop can't be removed other than cutting it off, so i end up buying a new end stop - more money to Pope- after shortening the hose.
These things chome with a 2 year warranty.. who is going to dig it up to return it??? Money for jam.

Waste of money – I bought three of these weeper hoses. Two out of the three split within a few months. I tried joining one hose with a hose joiner but this did not work. I was told to bring the split ones back so that they could be replaced under warranty. Why bother, the product is flawed. Show details
weeping over purchase – this thing is useless. you get more moisture beading on a cold bottle of beer than what comes through this hose. it was my second go too, as the first hose i bought cracked open when i unfurled it. should stuck with guts instinct and just ditched it there and then. absolutely useless. WOTAM – This product is a waste of money. But what really rankles is the waste of time and energy expended in setting this rubbish up in your garden. It's very brittle (made from recycled tyres, it seems). It burst in multiple places with me patching it up each time (with joiners) before I realised I'd been had. I'm a big fan of Bunnings but they dropped the ball on this one. Show details
Very dissapointed – I carefully installed two lengths of Pope Water Weeper. Both developed splits and sprays in a matter of hours. Tired of making repairs with tape and wire tourniquets, I replaced them with Holman, a less expensive product. Holman were much better, although the ends do tend to blow off at even low pressure, so had to be taped up. I now have four… Read more
Holman Weepers in the garden and find the principal very good. I read one review that suggested a product called Mazedrip and will look for this as I want to lay more weeping hose in the future. Pope should remove the product from sale until they have significantly improved it and Bunnings should not carry it in stock as it is hugely negative for both brands.
Don't Do It – Wish I had read all the other reviews before I purchased! I bought 2 weeper hoses, one a Pope and one a Holman brand just to compare. The Holman is still working fine after 4 weeks but the Pope has developed a split. So I'll be going back to Bunnings to exchange it for a Holman which was also cheaper. Show details
Split after a week – split after a week, replacement not feasible as buried hose lightly, have planted added compost and mulch, replacement will cost more in labour and plants, patching - more cost - only current solution Please purchase alternative product POPE this needs investigation - have used your products for years without any issues Show details
Keep splitting – Similar to other reviewers, the product is poor. Even with careful laying and use they will split rendering them useless in minutes. The holes can appear anywhere. In a straight section or a curved section. There is no rhyme or reason whi they fail. Not sure why Pope and Bunnings continue to sell such a poor product. Surely a good example where we should get our money back. Show details
Awesome - For 3 weeks! – Bought 2 30m POPE water weepers just before Xmas 2017, and for the first few weeks it worked a treat. Last week I noticed a stream of water pouring along the garden bed. Investigated and noticed a large split. Continued looking and found another split. Added two joiners thinking this would overcome the issue. Alas, both weepers are developing… Read more
splits almost daily to the point they are unusable due to water wastage so will be removing. Very disappointing.
Not HAPPY Pope – Purchased and installed a 30m weeper hose for my 96yr old mother-in-law. Set it up for her to turn on a timer when she wanted to water. Worked great for a few months, garden looked the best it has for some time. On my last visit I noticed that the weeping had reduced along its length. Weeps are spaced apart and are no longer continuous along the… Read more
length of the hose, now rendering watering the garden useless. The weeper hose was set up as per Pope's requirements, that is an inline filter and a pressure reduction valve to allow to work well within the pressure range. Bunnings have offered to replace the hose but remain sceptical that the problem will re-occur.
Is there a problem with calcification inside the hose and blocking the pores ?? This system is connected to a town water system !!
No mention of water quality in the purchased literature if this is a critical parameter.

Good product! – I am buying another one today for a second bed. Still using the original one after 5 years. Easy to use - don't turn tap on too fast. Has kept my nandinas in narrow bed along driveway alive and healthy. I am pleased with product. Bought at Bunnings. Covered it with mulch so you can't see it. Show details
The rating stars don't go low enough for this product – The hose keeps splitting I now have more joins than hose. This product can't be trusted I went on vacation and came back to a mess. Don't buy this product. I feel like pulling the whole thing out and taking it back to Bunnings and telling them (very politely) where they can put the hose. Show details
Please don't waste your hard earned cash on it – After only few months of light use, this hose burst half way rendering useless. Also, at the end where there is a metal fitting there is a lot of leaking but not as bad as the burst section. Please use your hard earned cash on other products as this one is totally useless Show details
Waste of money – Wish I'd read these reviews before I wasted my money. It split on the 2nd day I started using it even with the correct 1/4 turn of the tap of less. I have heard of using a reducer but mine didn't come with one..... Now just creates a flood when left on for any length of time which defeats the purpose of trying to save water...... Show details
TWO POPE WEEPER HOSES developed holes – I bought two Pope wiper hoses and found them as bad as the rest of the Pope stuff I bought. After painstakingly setting them up in my flower beds and covering them with mulch, both developed holes with a month for one and two for the other. For God's sake, I only used them roughly twice a week and they do nothing but sit there. I was careful to… Read more
keep the pressure down as I didn't want to flood my flowers and even more careful after the first one burst. What is WRONG with QA nowadays?
50/50 – I bought two of them and spent similar times laying them out - one works fine and the other keeps splitting, I concur that they are a great idea but that's where it ends - quality appalling and not only a waste of money but time spent in the garden.
A complete waste of money – I bought these hoses from Bunnings, a spur of the moment thing thinking it was such a good idea and without doing a mandatory review search, typically after a few days each of the 6 rolls of hose began bursting in places, thinking my pressure was too great I bought regulators, repaired the leaks with joiners but disappointingly the hose kept… Read more
bursting in other places. Looking at the hose closely you can see they are poorly made and easily tear, even fitting a joiner was tearing the hose. These hoses are a great idea if they were made properly, I wont be buying these products again
Don't waste your $ or time – Spent so much time on Sunday laying out two of the 30m drip hose in our garden beds. Both hoses burst on second use. Terrible terrible quality. Annoyed at the amount of time and money wasted. Wish I had have read reviews below prior to buying this junk from Bunnings.
These work great for me – When you buy it, unwind it carefully and lay it in the sun. Don't put kinks in it or you will create your own problems. If you get a leak, cut it open and join it with black polypipe joiners. If you can't regulate the pressure, put an in-line tap in the hose before it. I have about 12 of these around my 5 acre property and am so happy with how… Read more
well they work, I am even cutting them up and using polypipe connectors/ends to create the exact length I need and have even added T-joins that head off in different directions. For me, they are great. Each one gets a turn at coming on for 2 hours once a week. Gardening made easy. You do treat these with more care than a normal garden hose but for me, if I respect their abilities, I enjoy great results.
And a tip for everyone who uses polypipe. Never put an 'end' to your polypipe. Always finish your pipe with an in-line tap. That way you can periodically open the tap and flush your system. I flush my system every year when I think I am finished for the summer and every year in summer before I start using it. It also helps to flush out the tap and any gunk that may have built up over winter.
Terrible product, avoid – Concur with the other reviews that this is a very dodgy product. The material splits very easily as you will end up with random jets of water spouting into the air - not the slow drip feed you're probably after. It doesn't really seem to wet the soil below at all, even after running for 2-3 hours. Go for a pvc drip tube tube instead, for example the one put out by Toro.
Terrible product – Splits so you can't use it. One broke in half. How can they sell such rubbish. Wasted 120 dollars. Can't find receipt and no time to return it. What a waste time installing. Bunnings take this of your shelf it's not making you look good selling faulty products. Oh well.
Poorly Made – I purchased the 15m hose, it worked great for about a week then it started splitting and now sprays water in odd places. Totally unacceptable quality. I purchased Pope because their regular hoses are usually very reliable. Please note that you have a right to return and full refund: https://www.accc.gov.au/business/treating-customers-fairly/consumers-rights-obligations.
What a terrible waste of money – I purchased several 30m and 15m lengths from BMS Mitre 10 in Toowoomba. My water tank pump puts out 300kpa (checked by plumber) and the information on the product claims that they work best under 300kpa so should work… but they don't. After running one line only for several hours, the soil under mulch is still as dry as a bone. A few spots where… Read more
water spurts out - and this happened straight away. The product is absolute garbage and an awful waste of money and time installing!!!
