Pressure release stopped working in less than 12 months. Customer service poor
Blenders are great but their pressure cooker appears to be poor. Pressure release stopped working in less than 12 months and paint on inner bowl scratched off with plastic spoon provided. Customer service provided has been poor to date, asking so many questions and for photos and videos, only to end with that I should send it to Melbourne.
Show detailsA great versatile cooking machine
a great all purpose cooker. Great as a pressure cooker and slow cooker. A lot of menu options for different types of cooking. It is easy to clean and I like the fact that it is sealed under the bowl so if you spill liquids it will not get into the electronics.
Have used it to my bread, yoghurt , soups, roasts, deep fry.
Out performs other multicookers I have used. Appears to be sturdy and reliable.
I bought it on special which is great value.
The most awful pressure cooker I have ever owned
I have used pressure slower cooker for over 20 years.
I have not even had it 12 months
It burns never knew they could burn!!
It says its on for 1hr nearly 2 hours later it’s still going!!
I would not of used it 6 times! I hate it! the coating is cracking and peeling off tried to call them they don’t answer!! Very disappointed!!!
Terrible - same as said by MeMo and others
As everyone has said, the instructions are terrible and don't help at all. Now I have finally worked out how to use it, it's great... WHEN IT WORKS, which is intermittently. A few time sI have used it and it's worked well, but most times it never builds up pressure, there is steam pouring out from under the cover and the vent, everything either boils or burns, rarely pressure cooks. And yes, I have cleaned everything and made sure it all goes back together correctly, it makes no difference. Just when I have a couple of good experiences and thi
... Read morenk maybe it's ok and it was just me doing something wrong last time, I have another night like tonight where I've spent hours starting again, pulling the thing apart, making sure every bit is clean and moves as it should, then putting back together and starting again only for the same result - a boiling pot with steam pouring out the sides. Tonight I eventually gave in and switched to slow cook just so as not to waste another lot of food. It's also very annoying that at the same time I ordered and paid for an air dryer that had not arrived - I keep being told it will come soon. Disappointing, I love my 5yo Optimum Blender so much I was hoping for the same quality, but no. If it's not too late I'm going to ask for a refund on both products and shop elsewhere.Find out how Optimum Induction Pressure-Cook Pro compares to other Pressure Cookers

A great coustumer service as well, they send you a book with recipes via email. And if you have isuue or qestion they resolve fast.

OK so I wanted to upgrade my cheap Kmart multi-cooker (which has been great by the way). I actually wanted an instant pot but as they aren't available in AU I started looking at what I could get under $200. I bought one of these. I chose stupidly to ignore the reviews thinking we will be right but as I look at the stupid thing now it has steam pouring from the sides(where the handles are) and also the steam vent. This is the third meal I've tried to cook in it. Maybe i'm doing something wrong but I wouldn't know because like so many others t
... Read morehere was no cookbook or detailed instructions except a ten page leaflet with basic instructions. The troubleshooting didn't help at all. Yes it has 20 cooking programs but absolutely no details on what these programs do or how to use them. The only mention about them in the leaflet is the times the program pressurises for. The voice guidance is rubbish cause it doesn't guide you, it lets you know the same as a beep would when an action is occurring. The first 2 meals I cooked took hours of fiddling around to get it to cook and in the end I gave up because it was cooked anyway and the second meal basically boiled the meat. Never had this happen with my other cooker. I might well have a dud here!!!! FYI I think some of the latest reviews on here for this machine might be dodgy as they are way over the top claiming how easy the machine is to use and that is just simply not true. Sending back on Monday for a refund. PROS Handles on the insert bowl and I guess the induction CONS Not being able to see the display unless you are in front of the machine as the display is on top. If you want to see if it has pressurised or how long it has to go you have to actually go over to the machine. Also it has no saute function so you cant brown your meat or onions in the machine grrr. And also, and this is really annoying, there is no quick steam release that i can find (certainly nothing in the instruction pamplet). All these things are a must with an electric pressure cooker. The lack of instructions is really, really poor given there is also nothing online to download or give directions and no recipes on their website. It reeks of cheap and nasty at high end prices.Hello MeMo, I am so sorry about your experience, the issues with your Pressure-Cook are very unusual. Have you returned your appliance for a refund? Loved it. Great for soups and stews. Easy to use, love the fact it talks to you and tells you what part of the cooking process it's up too. Easy to clean. Loved it so much bought one for my daughter who has been using it all winter and really enjoys using it.
Show detailsThe Best!!!
We bought this particular machine as we are induction fans......It is so simple to use (with voice guidance) and the quality of the cooking is superb.
We are simple eaters and my wife did a stew for us the other day; we didn't even have to thicken it, it was cooked to perfection.
This will be our last cooking machine and we can't recommend it enough...
Alarmingly easy - almost an anticlimax
First meal - intuitive controls, alarmingly easy, plus looks gorgeous, quite chatty.
Produced a fantastic meal that normally requires 4 hrs to develop flavour.
Meal was cooked in just 40 min. with minimal hands on time - no stirring, poking, checking, adjusting, remembering.
Simple to use ; multiple styles of cooking all in one pot with quick clean up , tough surface, handle makes for easy stowage.
Cool handles are a nice touch. Spatter guard very useful (aka anti-overflow cover.. ?)
Improvements- a separate power cord for seamless storage Is always nice. and a first user step by step guide for the novice user may be appreciated. The staff recipes are great, although again a bit more detail for the novice may be appreciated.

Great product A1
Great product, every meal we have made has turned out fabulous. Has lived up to our expectations and brings out the flavours in every meal. Very easy to use and understand, quick and reliable. Easy to clean and store. We are using it over winter and it brings job to the table every time.
Show detailsGreat for Indian food
It's pressure cooking function and nonstick are excellent. What I like the most is that I can cook curries the usual way - fry the masaala, add the chickpeas/rajma or ghia etc. and then press a button and forget(this part one can only do with an automatic device like optimum) ! Also the inner part of the lid comes off for cleaning which is very important.
For chickpeas/rajma, soup function is great and for ghia or dhuli moong-masri the rice function works fine. I normally do not cook as per instructions on nearly all devices that I have as I have my own recipes for things as per my liking etc., hence lack of a detailed cookbook is no problem.
Where is the cookbook?
I struggle to cook with this machine as there are only very basic instructions and no cook book to follow. I, like others, have scoured the internet and froothie own website for recipes but cannot find any. The cookbook links sent to me were for items I don't have. For basic items it cooks well. A book to follow would be great especially if you have to add items as you go.

It is a pity because it looked like a great product in the advertisement but I was sorely disappointed

My Induction just stays on relaeae steam mode!! Faulty
I'm most disappointed with this product I first of all was disappointed with the lack of instructions especially for somebody that hasn't ever use a pressure cooker before. So I decided to wing it and I thought I would try and make a dal tonight and just hit the soup mode, pretty easy right. Well that was wrong half way through the recipe I needed to add extras to it so I went to page 10 of the instruction manual and follow the instructions. It's now been 1 hour and my pressure cooker is still stuck in release pressure mode with no hope of it a

So I decided that perhaps I'll try and put it on another program and did a porridge and set the steam low in the hope that it would just turn off and release the pressure however it is now and keep warm mode and from what I can see in the instructions it should just release the pressure and light should go off when the porridge is Done, but instead it's just keeping it warm and still trying to release the pressure so may Dal is stuck in the pressure cooker and no one's getting any dinner tonight as it's now 8pm and I have been at this for an hour. I am extremely annoyed and cannot understand why I cannot remove the lid I've checked all the manual checked all the safety functions and yet still I can't see what I'm doing wrong and the troubleshooting doesn't cover this. What am I supposed to do send back machine full of Dal because I cannot actually get the lid off. I am now wishing that I had of chosen a different pressure cooker one that I could take back to a store if need be and certainly one that has a better instruction manual and maybe some cookbooks with it. My suggestion would be don't bother buying it choose something else.Hello Leigh77,

Was excited to find this product as we desperately needed to replace our old pressure cooker, however it turned out to be no good, ended up returning and bought a traditional stove-top pressure cooker instead and it's been great. This might be good for others but doesn't suit our needs. The service is great though, fast delivery and return.

Hi all, My pressure cooker is only a couple of years old and probably has been used about 20 times since purchased. Recently, it has started releasing pressure (steam) constantly and take hours and hours to perform a Menu 2 Option for Meats of 35 minutes. I have thoroughly cleaned the pressure cooker including just running (cooking) water to steam clean components and this hasn't worked. Any ideas?
I had the same issue on meat mode cooking my soybeans. I hit cancel and while the cooking was complete, I noticed the skins found their way stuck over one of the parts on the top and so i cleared them. Then cooked potatoes on steam mode with no issue. Hopefully it doesn't happen too often. It did happen to me last year once. Glad I don't eat meat these days. Wouldn't want to risk consuming uncooked parasites!
Thanks Roh - I have undertaken multiple thorough cleans to no avail. The meat isn't going to be undercooked because it just keeps going for hours and you can't stop it. Also, you can get quite a few nasties from vegetables as well you know :)
Hi do you have recipie book please I'm in the UK and I didn't get one with my machine, is it possible to could put some recipies up on here for me I've googled and I've searched YouTube but found nothing, please I need some help to use my machine, Thank you.
If you go to the optimum website they will send you a pdf copy of recipies.
Do you have the details for the website please
One last question do you need to put liquid I need when using the Defrost setting please, there is no mention how to use it and I want to use it properly, Thank you .

Fantastic Thank you so much.
Hi I want to roast a whole chicken but the booklet tells you not to use without liquid in it how do I roast a chicken then?
Hello Liz,
you can add some oil.
Here are example instructions for roasting chicken:
In a small bowl, combine paprika, thyme, salt, and pepper. Rub seasoning over outside of the chicken
Heat oil in the pressure cooker to shimmering. Add chicken, breast side down, and cook 6-7 minutes.
Flip the chicken and add broth, lemon juice and garlic cloves.
Lock pressure cooker lid and set for 25 minutes on high.
Let the pressure cooker release naturally.
Remove from pressure cooker and let stand for 5 minutes before carving.
Here are more delicious recipes: http://optimumappliances.com/assets/manual_pdf/EN/Induction_PressureCook_Pro_Recipe_Book.pdf
Hope that helps!
regards
Andrea
Thank you but what setting do I put it on ? And what do you use DIY setting for?
Hello Liz, see manual page 8.
MENU 2 for Meats default cooking time for this program is 35min, max time is 2hrs and minimum time is 15mins. ( cooking time can be adjusted for all functions)
So I would first use the minimum setting of 15min, then flip the chicken and add broth, lemon juice and garlic cloves and set for 25-35min on the meat program.
DIY means you can set more settings for yourself
Hope that helps :)
Yes thank you very much, can I ask is steam supposed to come out , were the inside pot handles are? I'm a little concerned thank you
I have checked with a technician and he advised that steam should not come out from the handle area. Please ensure you have attached the seal properly. Let me know if you need help :)
Hi I've never touched the seal just checked the nut thing I sight which it is, but I have noticed the lid part were the nut is attached is loose , should it be ? Or should it be able to move around even though the nut thing is tight .
Sorry for so many questions I just want to know it safe to use, it is cooking things it does come up to pressure, I'm just a bit nervous.
Hey Liz no problem at all, anything you need just let us know! I have contacted the technician to double-check. Will be back with an answer :)
Hello Liz, thank you for your patience. The technician has advised that normally steam should not come out near the handles. It might happen if the seal is not in place or damaged. Please check if the lid is attached correctly and in case you are still experiencing issues please open a ticket here:

Hi there is nothing you can do I'm in the UK I bought here, I've contacted seller and they say no returns so I'm out of pocket and no cooker, I'm so upset because I'm disabled and my big cooker broke and I don't have money to buy another, so there is nothing I can do, the steam is coming out both handles and also the screws in the handles keep coming loose, so it's not safe at all, I'm very disappointed because it would have been fantastic if it worked properly, thank you for your help.
