I had a great experience with ProGuard Locksmith, especially with their technician Alex. He was professional, friendly, punctual, and clearly knew exactly what he was doing. He explained everything clearly, worked efficiently, and made sure the job was done properly before leaving.

Stop before you go ahead!!! This disgusting company scams and takes advantage of everybody for over 5 times the price. My elderyly 72 yr old mother was scammed into paying over $1000 for an internal door handle replacement with no lock, to be open and relaced by a cheap gainsborough $35 door handle from bunnings in the wrong colour (black instead… Read more

of chrome). The entire house is chrome.

They did not provide me with a quote when I had been the one to book the call out and went ahead then refused to leave my elderly mothers house until we paid while I am at work and they had not even emailed me the invoice. $550 alone for a cheap bunnings door handle alone to be installed after he cracked our door and broke it. Not including to open the door and double charging for installation advising the latch is seperate to the handle. Save your money and your mental health. They need to be shut down. Absolutely disgusting to take advantage of an elderly female alone at the house and then spam call and refuse to leave until payment.

Quoted "around $600.00" by their technician and in the end presented with an invoice for $1455.30 to change one lock and key it to match a second door. Ultimately the amateur screwed 2 catchplates in such a way that a laundry window cannot be opened. He also failed to install a snib, so the lock is incomplete. This on the back of a website that has nothing but 5 star reviews and the claim of Honest & Reliable work.

A young man came to our salon to replace our lock. He turned up in a car that had no business logo or anything. He charged us $1038.00 for 45 minutes of work. He spent most of that time in the bathroom. Not only did he over charge us, the job was a total disgrace. The lock did not fit the door properly and has left a gaping hole that you can see through from one side to the other. Do not use this company. They are scammers!!!!!!

This company is dodgy . I had a new lock put in that broke 3 months after it was put in place . They do not guarantee their work- even with the invoice . Beware !

Follow-up  · The lock was faulty - they had actually upsold me what they told me was a premium lock for over 800 dollars . When the proper locksmith replaced it he showed it to me and told me it had worn thin after four months (‘a piece of tin) essentially . When I spoke to proguards customer service they told me all I could do was lodge a complaint through them and there was no warrantee on their work .

Initially very good service, but locksmith then promised he would return to fix the bottom snib lever but is avoiding my calls to schedule a time. Very disappointing. Hope this is resolved asap.

⭐ 1 Star – Absolutely ridiculous pricing I called ProGuard Locksmiths because I had a broken key stuck in a window lock. The locksmith arrived and removed the broken piece of key in literally a matter of seconds. There was no lock replacement, no repair and no parts required. I was then charged $346.50. I understand there is a call-out fee and… Read more

that trades charge for their time and expertise, but $346.50 for removing a broken key from a window lock in seconds is, in my opinion, completely unreasonable and excessive.

Extremely poor customer service and no action after more than 72 hours We paid ProGuard Locksmiths $1,400.25 for work that included two new cylinders, an oval snib and rekeying two locks. A key later became completely stuck in our office entrance lock and could not be removed, leaving us unable to secure the premises properly. We reported the… Read more

fault on Tuesday, provided photographic evidence and clearly explained that this was an immediate security risk. We also told ProGuard that our office closed at 5:00 pm and that staff could not remain at the premises indefinitely with a key exposed in the entrance lock.

ProGuard acknowledged the complaint but said it could take up to 72 hours to investigate. We explained that this was not a practical response to an urgent security problem. It is now Friday, more than 72 hours later. Nobody has attended, the lock has not been repaired and no practical solution or attendance time has been provided.

When I called again, I was told that staff could not do anything except refer the matter to “higher management”. However, the representative could not provide the name, telephone number or email address of any manager. No manager contacted us and no effective escalation option was offered.

We also submitted a detailed formal complaint through ProGuard’s website. In my experience, the after-sales customer service has been extremely poor, unprofessional and dismissive. After accepting a substantial payment, ProGuard failed to provide even basic assistance when the installed lock became a genuine security concern.

Their website promotes fast response times, 24/7 emergency services and reliable lock repairs. That was not our experience. Based on the lack of urgency, communication and accountability shown in handling this matter, I cannot recommend ProGuard Locksmiths.

Scammers -I was locked out and the locksmith made it sound like it was a simple job, it would not cost too much only the call out fee (after hours, which I expected) and then $150-$180. Once he arrived, I feel like he gave me a very rehearsed speech about how difficult it was to open the door and it was going to cost $450. I felt intimidated and… Read more

pressured by the locksmith. He was not rude, I just felt uncomfortable. Being a smaller guy of LGBT background, I felt intimidated and he said I had no option as he had been called out. He got into the lock within 5 mins (not even) which makes me think it was not as difficult as he made out. The final fee ended up being $674 which is WAY higher than he ever said. They offered to refund me $100 but other 3 months of following up each week, nothing ever happened.

I called them on the weekend. They did their work. But the pricing was 3 to 4 times higher than the usual price. They never told me what the total cost would be before the work, while their website says that they would always give a quotation. A European guy came. The car and other items don't match what's advertised on their website. They charged… Read more

me almost equal to the price of the monthly rent for hardly 20 minutes of work! I am really not sure how these kinds of business entities get a license to work! People will be harmed. Also, if you search on Google, I believe they paid to promote their website. No open Google review exists. Government should look into these.

Posting on behalf of my neighbour whose lock they drilled without consent and damaged and wouldn’t leave without a $500 payment. Better ring a local locksmith.

I was a bit naive to getting a locksmith so after locking my keys inside my apartment, I Googled it and rang the first one that popped up in my search, Proguard Locksmiths (first mistake). I was connected to an answering service and was promptly called back by [Name Removed]. He said he would be 20-30 minutes and he was. He was a pleasant and… Read more

friendly young Belgian chap. In my naivity I hadn't asked how much it would cost (second mistake) and after [Name Removed] checked out what had to be done he informed me it would be a bit over $500 (which now I have done a bit of research seems high). I was stuck and needed to get in so agreed. After a few minutes where he had to do a bit of drilling, he got in. We retrieved my keys from the inside, but then the lock, wouldn't lock. He tried a few things but couldn't get it to work so had to go back to the depot to see if they could fix it. When he got back the previously working lock couldn't be fixed, not because it had been drilled, but because it was old. This was to be another $500 plus. So I don't give them a one star, they were punctual and pleasant. However, not being upfront with charges seems to be creating an opportunity to gouge people at a time of need. Not taking responsibility for breaking locks seems poor business procedure. I was stung. Shop around
