Use anyone else. Was charged well over the market price for a new hot water system, willing to accept that one is on me as I should have received another price. Was told that I was legally required to install a pressure valve at the meter which I have since found out was not true. The worst part was that the HWS was installed with a leak that… Read more
damaged my walk in robe which backs on to the HWS. Pronto denied any wrongdoing and I have found their practices to be immoral at best.
I still have not received my $350.00 reimbursement due to a failed WATER HEATER install. The technician failed to secure the gas leak and my tenants could have died from the exhaust fumes. Because PRONTO PLUMBING failed to respond to my many calls and text messages regarding this issue I had to contact another plumber to make repairs and to then have Atlanta Gas Light to come out to clear the issues.
Overcharge or simply cheating??? In 2022, my wife was charged by Pronto Plumbing $4760.0 to swap out the existing Rheem 170L indoor hot water system with the exactly same type of system; everything except the device was re-used. The normal market price shall be under $3000.0 anywhere. 1, they didn't provide breakdown details to the invoice ---… Read more

Steer clear – Poor, unsatisfactory work performed by unqualified pronto plumber which resulted in hiring another plumber after second attempt at a simple job. Water leaked from original coupling & pronto plumber unable to diagnose issue. Pronto steadfastly refused to acknowledge emails & ignored phone calls. Untrustworthyn & ever so dodgy. Regret hiring them! Show details
Takes advantage of people - rip off merchants – I called for a blocked toilet. They told me they could fix it for $768.52. After this, they tell me I have cracked pipes and they need to hire an excavator. The next day, the “excavator” is a 20 year old kid - yes they lied as said I was paying for machinery. I had already paid $3662 for them to dig a hole and replace 1m of pipe. They then tell me… Read more
they need to excavate the other side of my house for another $6600. By then I realised, I was being taken for a fool. Pronto Plumbing prey on mums with young children, waiting until the children are screaming to then ask for payment upfront so you have no other choice. In addition, the pipe that they did replace they left hanging out of the ground - an OH&S issue -(see image) I had to call them to get them to cut down. I do not recommend Pronto Plumbing and suggest you look elsewhere.

Terrible service - downpipe still leaks! – Supposed to fix a leaking downpipe. They added a new piece but did not seal the join to the old pipe. Came back 3x times to fix. It still leaks!
The worst Plumbing company in entire Melbourne region – I have newly constructed house and the sewer pipe at the backyard got blocked. I searched online and got 24/7 local plumbers (now Pronto Plumbing) contact number to get my blocked piped checked. I paid $110.00. After an hour in the morning, plumber came around 10:00AM in the morning. He checked and said that It seems like there is a wood stuck in… Read more
the pipe and they must dig it to get it out. However, he said that due to the weekend it will cost you $5000.00.
I was surprised to hear the cost and told him to do it on Monday on 01/03/2020. He then said that it will cost you $3000.00 on the weekdays. Comparing $5K to 3K, I booked the plumber to get the pipe unblocked for Monday. I paid $3000.00 through by debit card. Plumber then went away after charging $3000. Soon after booking on the same day in the morning, my wife and I manage to pull it out with some with plunger struggle and our both toilet and sinks got unblocked.
I rang plumber and on plumber's advice, I then rang Pronto Plumbing to cancel the job The guy on the phone from Pronto Plumbing said that Job once booked can’t be cancelled and they can’t refund me any money at all. He also said that he already organised the material, excavator etc to do the job on Monday (clear lies...). He then said job cannot be cancelled now. I told him that I cancelled the job immediately (same day cancelled) after booking the job. Why should I pay if you did not render any service or have done no job for the customer? I have already paid $110.00 for the visit of the plumber. I cannot pay you for the services you never performed. Pronto Plumbing said that job cannot be cancelled and there is no cooling off period.
Ultimately, I lost half of the money and managed to get only 50% for nothing after one year of struggle through VCAT. VCAT is of no help as they said you should have read the terms and conditions first. This company take your money and run. you will loose 50% of ,money as soon as you sign their quote. You can not cancel the service once you sign the quote. better stay away from these people
Do not use!! – Had a hot water unit that broke down on a sat afternoon. Got them to send someone after hours. Monday to check about warranty etc being a decent brand (Volcan). Still insisted it won’t be under warranty any more so not to delay, which was totally false !!
Few minutes later, the plumber goes, “upon further investigation” it’s not the cylinder but some valves that need replacement. Didn’t see him carry out any further investigation or checks. Asked me to order parts right away and book the job or else there will be delays for which he quoted over 1700 so I insisted I do not want to proceed till I investigate this issue further. Asked him to just provide a quote / report which he said he’s emailed me, and should be received soon, but I got nothing for 2 days!
I called their office Monday morning requesting some sort of a informal report and a quote which they didn’t provide either however verbally did advise 4 valves require replacing at a cost of 1700$... possibly from the notes this plumber left on their system.
I had a plumber come in on Monday morning to investigate and As it turns out, just 1 valve had to be replaced (TPR valve). He fixed it within 30 mins charging $220 all up including parts and labour and assured me he ll attend site again at no extra cost should I have any issues relating to the same problem.
Units working as good as brand new. It’s astonishing in today’s day and age companies like these are trying to rip customers blatantly without any fear, just because they can!
Please beware and think twice before engaging them.

Plumbers? You mean LIFE SAVERS! – Honestly so grateful for a plumbing business that’s open 24/7!! Scam artists – Had these guys around on the 20/10 to clear a blocked storm water pipe. They inspected and quoted $450 to clear the pipe out and inspect it with a camera. Reading the reviews before writing this one it’s obvious they have form in ripping people off. It’s also blatantly obvious that the few positive reviews are false (A hundred angry 1 star reviews sprinkled with a few short 5 star reviews) . I’ve actually got half a mind to call them back to my house and chin the c*** that came round and tried to rip off my partner.

look. ? why? Outside while showing him where sewer trap and drain outlets were located, he said, your hot water service needs replacing too. He then said, before starting any remedial work, I needed a pressure valve attached to my water meter or I would not be covered by insurance. He sent [Name Removed] to do that and I swear it took him 3 minutes maximum. The charge for that I later discovered was $619.40. I see they cost $45 at Reece Plumbing. Probably less for trade. They then gave me a quote for the entire job, unblocking tree roots, replacing hot water heater - $9000. When I did a quick search for hot water heaters, I saw that they were overcharging me by many hundreds of dollars. I asked them to cancel the hot water and go ahead with the remaining work. They said "NO" you have signed a contract and it had to go ahead. I said I would not allow them to come onto my property to install the heater. They said, too bad. you will still have to pay. After several days of arguing and begging on my part, they agreed to cancel the hot water part of the contract and I had to pay a cancellation fee of $800 which was 30% of its cost. They then took over a week to complete the work and cancelled 3 times. I was told if I cancelled any appointment I would be charged a cancellaion fee. [Name Removed] the manager and [Name Removed] in the office are outrageous bullies and treated me an elderly widow, as if I was an idiot. Saying many times "Just listen to me." Explaining how to do a bank transfer even though I kept on saying I knew how. Then insisting on payment by credit card with a surcharge as bank transfers can take 2 days. They kept on using phrases like "I am not going to sugar coat this" and " I am taking on board what you are saying". When I asked [Name Removed] to cease "Mansplaining" things to me he said "Settledown, settle down, settle down." How patronising. I have never before have a company ask for payment upfront before doing the job and refusing to start until the money had been cleared into their account. A deposit maybe but the entire amount??? I repeat, do not use this company, they are rogues.

Outrageous price to unblock a kitchen sink with draino – I was outraged at it cost $485 to unblock my kitchen sink with “plumber grade” draino, and a couple of plungers- the invoice state $280 for use of a hand held plunger, the job took less then 30min. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY – DO NOT USE PRONTO PLUMBING, NARRE WARREN. I searched for a plumber near me to arrange for a split copper pipe under my house to be repaired. certainly have cancelled the job based on the reviews.
A plinth board needed to be removed to gain access but there was no need for the plumber to go under the house - the pipe was accessible from the outside. THE QUOTE WAS AROUND $850 (to be honest, I was so shocked I cannot remember the exact amount. It could have been $849 so with the service fee* of $49, which is deducted if you accept the quote, would make it $800). I told him I would have expected around $400-$450, $500 max. He then said he would call his boss to see what he could do. I told him not to bother. *not sure why I was charged a service fee when their website says "Call out fee - $0". And their Terms & Conditions do not define "service fee" or "call out fee".
I wish I had asked him for a breakdown of the quote as the plumber who fixed the pipe said the part required was around $35 and the job took him 10 minutes. So, if the Pronto plumber had taken 30 minutes to fix the pipe, that means they are charging $1,600 PER HOUR!

this was the basis for us calling them in the first place. Then they replaced the fan but the entire heater is still not working and has not been fixed. We had some heat before this company came and now we have no heat. They have referred us to Rinnai. Our regret is with not going with Rinnai in the first place.
Update (19/09/22) Pronto booked us in with Rinnai who came to fix the problem. There was confusion about whether this was covered by Pronto but when we called them they said it was not. We then had to pay a further $673 to Rinnai taking the total amount to $3200. Keep in mind a new unit costs $5000 according to Rinnai. This was at the same time I wrote the initial review. Their HR called me asking me to take down my negative review and I said I would after I got refunded. She was not aware we had paid Rinnai because they had arranged payment with them instead. Why did their receptionist not know this? Three weeks on we are still waiting on a refund from Rinnai and weekly I get a message asking if I have received the funds from Rinnai as of yet. Very annoying and I don't like being harassed to take down my initial complaint which is valid. Melbournians have a right to know who they are dealing with. Pronto if you get this, stop texting me asking me to take down my negative review and if I got my refund back yet. Very annoying! If you care so much, why don't you refund me the entire amount I paid? I did not get a valid service from your company and was overcharged for the courtesy! To date no refund has been issued! Rinnai had no idea of who Pronto Plumbing was and told us they had never heard of them! I wish I had not heard of them either.

BEWARE, total rip off !!!!!!!!!!! – I had an issue with no hot water late one Friday night. I called Pronto Plumbing and was told there was a $49 call out fee. not a plumber, nor do I know anything about parts or repair, it's winter with no hot water and it's now 2pm on a Saturday, I felt I had no choice but to agree to the quote so I could rectify the issue asap.
A few days later, I received the invoice from Pronto Plumbing. The invoice stated there was a supply and install of a standard 15mm Tempering Valve. I looked up that particular part online and noticed it ranged anywhere between $99.00 and $200.00. After calculating the price of the part and the $49 call out fee, to my horror, I was charged around $600.00 for 1.5 hours of labour performed. Needless to say, I am disgusted I've been quoted and charged such an exorbitant amount.
I understand the process Pronto Plumbing adopts is to enter into the system what needs to be fixed, this generates a quote, presented to the customer, customer agrees to proceed, customer signs off on quote, job merges to scheduling, repair completed.
I feel there is a major flaw in their system when the plumber enters what he feels needs to be repaired generating a quote for the customer who is then unable to see what they are actually paying for. I was given no break down of the amount in regards to the cost of the part or for the labour. I am still unable to get a break down of the invoice after speaking with their administration staff who simply suggested I email my complaint.
I emailed Pronto Plumbing, as suggested by their administration staff, I’m still waiting for a reply nearly 3 weeks later.
I will NEVER recommend this plumbing company. I wished I’d endured the weekend with cold water and got a local plumber on the Monday for a fraction of the cost.

they could fix the next day. Thankfully my brother is a plumber and told me a rough ball park range of what to expect, which was MUCH less than was quoted by Pronto Plumbing. I asked how they came up with the price and was told it’s a set rate as per the company and they had no control over the pricing. I declined the quote and called another company. The other plumbing company replaced the tempering valve and PRV the next day for $588. The only testimonials I could find on Pronto Plumbing’s website were 5 star reviews, but upon doing more research found them to have received hundreds of 1 star reviews similar to mine hidden away on other review websites. I feel for the many people who this company clearly takes advantage of by significantly overpricing their work, particularly the vulnerable.

then was changed to $149 because of public holiday. (The public holiday was the following Monday not the Saturday I was calling them out on.) In any case I proceeded because the matter needed resolution. They attended site and advised tempering valve was the problem and that it was going to be $950 to replace and install a new one. I am no plumber and had no idea what it would cost for this but given the high dollar amount quoted I asked if this price was also inflated due to Saturday call out rates and the plumber advised no, it was their normal charge.
A quick search online shows the price of the tempering valve itself is around $70-$100, so Pronto was effectively trying to charge me $850 to carry out 20 minutes of work to install what is a swap out part. Naturally at this point I did not proceed and went elsewhere but the gall of them to try and rip people off in this manner is incredible. Coming to this website, post my experience, highlights that they have been extremely successful in ripping people off using this method. I can only imagine what they take off vulnerable community members like pensioners with practices like this.
If you don't know any better and don't know the real value of the work you are getting done then you are likely to proceed under the pressure of needing desperately heat or water for your home. It is this vulnerable situation that they are preying upon and they ought to be ashamed of their greed.

he would actually do what was expected and unblock drains I agreed. After using the jet blaster in my unit only (he did not jet blast in the drains in the common area) the plumber packed up asking me not to use any plumbing for at least an hour - thought it was to allow time for silicone to set. At NO time did he say blockage was not repaired but mentioned IF there was a further blockage it may be due to tree roots and it would be approximately another $2000.oo to repair. Queried this at the time given it is a block of 3 units, 10 years old, with absolutely no trees on block. Plumber could not provide any response. Next day I used washing machine and to my surprise it caused an overflow of water throughout because clearing the plumber had failed to unblock the drains but readily accepted my payment of $1300.00 plus call out fee. Called 24/7 Plumbing to lodge complaint and was told to put it in writing. Had to call another plumber following day who fixed the problem within an hour and charged less than Pronto Plumbing. New plumber only had to use jet blaster in common area. Followed up with complaint and was told, in writing, that I was a liar and that the plumber had completed the work as per the quote provided and in their view job was done.
