My hot water system sprung a leak in the wee hours of the morning in the holiday season while I was out of town. Proximity Plumbing responded on line, gave advice on turning the water mains off and had a plumber there to do the job 2 hours later at 7am. Extremely Disappointed – Misdiagnosis and Unnecessary Work I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Proximity Plumbing. valve and charging $825 for the replacement — yet the original issue was never resolved. This approach showed a complete lack of proper diagnosis or technical understanding.

When I raised the matter and requested a refund, the company refused to take responsibility, despite the work clearly not fixing the problem.

In my view, this service was neither professional nor carried out with due care and skill, and I strongly caution others to think twice before using this company.

James came out to replace a leaking tap in our bathroom. He was on time, efficient, clean and professional. He also inspected our home to see if there were any other plumbing issues that needed attention. We will definitely use Proximity Plumbing again based on this experience, and will highly recommend it to others.

Outrageous pricing – I don’t usually write reviews but I was quite shocked by this. We had a leaking pipe that needed to be fixed urgently. came out fairly quickly. The guy said he could fix it easily but it would be another $650 plus GST for him to do it (it was going to take an hour and didn’t require any special materials). I had assumed that the $350 plus GST would have been the price to fix it but he said that’s just the call out fee. He suggested tapping it back in for a temporary fix but then said he couldn’t do anything without charging me another $350! He ended up tapping it in (which took 5 seconds) which meant the call out fee wasn’t completely wasted. But their pricing is outrageous and not at all transparent.

Fast work, great price, great job – Our hot water heater died the other day. We got a fast quote, quick job scheduled, the price was better than two others and our installers, Darren and James, did a great job, and even went the extra mile to prevent harm from future leaks.

Best plumbing business – Proximity plumbing is the best plumbing business in Sydney. They were so friendly and very polite when they arrived at my place. Also super quick to fix the problem. They always go above and beyond in every job they do! - super reliable!

Happy with service & repair – Fabulous service, I made a call and had the emergency fixed. I was reassured that the problem could be fixed and felt happy knowing what the problem was and how to stop it from happening again.

5- stars – I have worked along side the proximity team for a number of years and wouldn’t recommend any another company. We only refer proximity onto our clients due to the high standard of work quality and prompt service.

Terrible experience - best avoided – Proximity Plumbing (PP) were very unprofessional to deal with. Very dissatisfied with the work undertaken. We paid $2,970 to repair a leaking shower pipe (plumbing only no tiling). It was quoted to be completed in the morning, but it took 13 hours. after they attended. I would definitely not recommend this business. The plumber who rectified PP’s work, did a great job and billed the repair for $1,700, much less than PP’s price. Also, we were told we had to pay a 50% deposit before they would make a time to book our job. When asked why 50%, we were told that’s what they do. They definitely used the word “deposit”, NOT a progress payment or similar. They also have failed to provide an invoice or receipt for this work. Definitely cannot recommend this business or the plumbers dealt with at PP.

Incompetent and rude – Proximity plumbing were called to fix a blocked kitchen sink fitted with an insinkerator that had stopped functioning. After an hour the plumber advised that they had cleared the drain, but could not fix the insinkerator. Within hours of them leaving, the drain was quickly blocked again so we called Proximity to come and review the problem. They… Read more

came again next day and did the same thing. Once again saying the insinkerator was broken and needed to be replaced. We asked them for a quote to do this, which they gave. We contacted Insinkerator directly to see if they would also quote to replace insinkerator, which they did at a rate 30% lower than Proximity quote. Insinkerator plumber came next day with a brand new insinkerator. We are very grateful to this technician because he examined the "broken" appliance and discovered that there was a screw (detached from a frypan handle) stuck in the insinkerator. He removed the screw which fixed the insinkerator and unblocked everything. We did not need to replace the device after all. We contacted Proximity who had failed to identify the problem on two separate time-wasting occassions and had charged us for their incompetence. We asked for a refund twice and then they blocked our calls. Incompetent, unfair, rude. Recommendation: Do not use this company.

Best Plumbing Company Hands Down – Dealing with William and his Team has been so smooth. The boys at proximity deserve a 10 star amazing work i am soo happy with the outcome of the work extremely satisfied. Thank you Team Sam Hero ;)
