Please note that Qantas Credit Union is now trading as Qudos Bank
Was good but not anymore – Been a member for 25 years. It was good old fashioned service but has significantly changed recently. Now treated like a number focused on protocols and not on customer experience. Show details
Would not recomend – Would not recommend this bank. We asked for a copy of debit card signature urgently to use it as ID. Presented all required documents and ID s. After 4 days called them again, but was refused by customer service team leader and compliance manager without any explanation We missed deadline to present a signature to government organisation and we… Read more
lost application fees $200. I requested an answer in writing, still waiting. Customer service employees are fantastic but some managers need to think outside of square.
A pity you DO NOT have Minus rating!!!! Disgraceful...NO-Service – Try to bank a Cheque to QFCU account (used to be called Qantas Staff Credit Union) 46 years ago!!! Go to your local branch was the answer !!! I live in FNQ ???? Where is that??? And from then it went "down-hill" pretty fast .....
Horrible service/experience – Banked for over 10 years with QSCU came to take out a home loan with partner, due to some problems with paperwork they could not approve the loan, when asked what would happen to my $60K deposit I was told by the very young and inexperienced rep.. "Well.. its gone now i guess" Went straight to one of the Major banks and they moved heaven and… Read more
earth to resolve our issue and secure the loan. I actually have no trouble paying a yearly fee now with a major bank because of the service we received in securing our home.
This was when they just changed to the new Qudos branding. Beware, low fees etc sound nice but you get what you pay for in crappy service and inflexible staff.
Extremely Disapointing – Long wait times, can't speak to anybody directly on initial call unless it is a simple question, they always have to call you back within 24 hours! Took them 3 weeks on 2 occasions to return our call regarding a car loan and investment. Eventually went with another bank who approved within 24 hours, had it all approved and paperwork signed before QCU even returned my call! I've been a member for over 15 years and closing all accounts.
Worse than most banks – I have had plenty of different credit cards over the years and always balance pay on the due date with Bpay to avoid interest. Qantas credit union will charge interest if the Bpay payment is not made at least 3 days before the due date. Make a direct transfer from another bank and that also needs to be at lesat 2 days before the due date… Read more
otherwise the will also charge you interest.
Transferred 200k from a Suncorp bank account to Qantas credit union account without any problems. Went to transfer same 200k to ME bank at a much higher interest rate and was unable to move more than 5k per day. For 2 weeks QCU refused to increase the limit.
Finally QCU would only increase the limit while they waited on the phone until the transfer was done.
Point 1 QCU How do you think the 200k got there in the first place?
Point 2 QCU As you knew everything was being withdrawn to $ 0 what does it matter what the limit is?
Will be closing all accounts with QCU before the first anniversary of the credit card.
Fees are astronomical! – As the other reviewers have said, the fees are a joke. When the major banks and other institutions are offering fee free accounts why would you put your salary in to QCU? Unfortunately my salary is now going in to another account. I have over $150000 in super with QCU and they still charge me these fees!!
Qantas Credit Union – As a member of this credit union for a few months, there are a few things that you need to watch out for. $25 fee allowance might seem high but it is extremely easy to run over - I am constantly having to remind myself that I must hit the credit button at EFTPOS machines. The fees to have direct debits are high and would chew through more than… Read more
twice my allowance. The way around this I have found is to have direct debits come off my credit card and then bpay (fee free) the funds to avoid chipping into the allowance.
The Qantas Credit Union staff are extremely friendly and now there are extended operating hours, but there is always the fee consideratin lingering over your head. Under $10k relationship will give $25 fee allowance, however, over $10 as a banking relationship and the allowance increases up to $50 for the month.
Before joining the Credit Union, I would highly recommend going through the past six months worth of banking transaction history and then working out how much of a fee allowance you'd use. There is room for improvement with the structure of the Qantas Credit Union - let's hope that this happens sooner rather than later.
Although I am giving the rating of three stars, this is only because I cannot provide two and a half stars.
Fees on everything! – It's almost like they will charge you just to log in to their internet banking! They don't, but I bet that fee is not too far off. Sure they give you $25 a month to help with the fees, but when you do all your banking you soon run out of that. It's $2 for just about everything. Transfers to other financial institutions $2, any ATM withdrawal $2… Read more
even from their own ATM, eftpos payments or cash withdrawals $2, direct debits/auto transfers $2, over the counter withdrawals $2, write a cheque $2, B/Pay $2, it's quite a list. And this mob have the gall to present themselves as a better alternative to Banks. I don't think so.
