Seller fees for selling an item – Poor online auction website. I remember when it was somewhat popular back in the day when it was around but only had one sale myself and the winning bidder never paid. What I do remember was having to deposit money just to sell items which was for the selling fees. I deposited $20 in to my account for the sales I was hoping to get over the coming months at the time. My question is how do I get back my $20 now that the website no longer exists?
Trader selling on Quicksales experience – For the last 6 months the Quicksales experience as a seller doesn't even rate a '1'. The Quicksales messaging and emailing stytem is BROKEN. We complained to them late 2017, and early 2018. They said their 'technical team' were 'working' in it. Nothing has happened, except now and then we get a batch notifications of 'sold items' and 'questions'… Read more
that are usually 2 months old. Very frustrating, as when a customer has purchased and paid into our bank account, have never receieved there shipping address, no contact details.
We have requestede 3 time now for them to remove all of our listings and close our account. Nothing happends.
All we can suggest is PLEASE DON'T PURCHASE VIA THE QUICKSALES SITE. Bad news for buyers and sellers.
Quicksales Bad Experience – Despite 3 emails to the seller, I did not receive a response. I never received my goods and Quicksales would not allow me to put a negative review so I went to cancel my membership and return to eBay. However, it is really, really, really difficult to wade through the system to find the close membership button.

Really good site - never been scammed – Bought numerous things since the site was Oztion.com.au (about 10 years ago) and never have been scammed. I have been scammed a few times by buyers on ebay though. Only negative is that it is not as popular as ebay and it has a lot of sponsored content posing as ads.
Long term user – Quicksales is free and very easy to use and I have sold almost 4000 items or lots on there since 2006. It can be slow but if you list up lots and lots of things across a wide variety of categories you will get sales. It's better than ebay by a long shot and if more people listed and bought on QS it could be a fantastic alternative to eBay.
Great Site. Love the iphone App – After bad experience on another well known free classified site (who restricted my access for no explainable reason). I google searched other trading sites and found quicksales. Surprised to see that there are currently more than 1.7million items listed on the site. Best of all it's free to list and no final value fees. I downloaded the app for my… Read more
iPhone. What a great app. Very fast and user friendly. I placed several listings and surprisingly I've already sold most items. Wonderful site. Highly recommend. Being free for sellers means cheaper for buyers as sellers don't need to mark up their prices to compensate for ridiculous fees. I love that it's Australian. Try it out and see for your self.

No responses – I don't know about the no buyers out there that people are mentioning.I'm one and can't seem to get a response from anybody. And then there's the car ads that look like complete scams, number plates that don't match the states there being sold in, bizarre suburbs like the one listed near me where there are no houses? The only response I ever had… Read more
was a year ago and that was the old I've moved and if you pay the money I'll ship the car to you scam.
I am no apologist for quicksales – 1) I have been a member for ten years, as both a seller and a buyer. 2) There have been severe problems since January 2017, when the messaging system collapsed. This possibly had something to do with the change of CEO. 3) Sellers are not to blame. We want to sell things and will usually do our best. Scammers, in my opinion, are less… Read more
prevalent on quicksales than other typical sites.
4) quicksales is owned by carsales.com.Ltd. If you look at their share price for the last ten years, you might be glad that you're not an investor. It's also worth checking the business analysis sites: quicksales (then OZtion) was a A$2,000,000 company. The subsequent buyers sold it for A$1,100,000. It's currently valued as little as A$100,000, with virtually no income at all.
5) I haven't listed anything new since January this year. I still get as many sales as before but they are nearly all offsite. I'd expect many more sales if I could just reply to the queries I get. I do reply, immediately, but I know the potential buyers do not receive the replies to their queries.

Does anyone actually sell anything on Quicksales? – I'm really curious. I have had listings on Quicksales for over twelve months and haven't received so much as a bite. While carsales and boatsales seem to be working effectively, quicksales listings don't even come up in product searches on Google, which would indicate that they are not promoting this part of their business. I know that I am… Read more
somewhat unwilling to spend the resources in listing more products when there is no activity occurring. Other reviewers comment hat they don't receive their order. Is this because the sellers have forgotten about the items they have listed for sale, and QS in general, and moved on without bothering to update their contact details on the site etc?

DO SELLERS ACTUALLY WANT THEIR MONEY??? – My first time at buying something on Quicksales and although I won the auction and have sent at least 3 emails, I have not heard a peep from the seller! I'm just so glad I didn't actually send my money off!
Been scammed twice recently – Stay totally away from - QuickSales as a company are TERRIBLE and should not be in business, in fact someone should report them. They refuse to answer emails and do NOTHING about the fraudulent sellers on their site. I have made 2 purchases in less than 2 months and with both I have received nothing from the sellers.
Full of scams and fraudulent ads – I wouldn't touch it with the 10ft pole... Majority of ads do not follow the rules and Quiksales apply no governance to ensure they are not fraudulent. Items with emails in the images is not allowed and they are 100% fake... Also for vehicles, look at the rego plates advertised and compared to the listing and the state, all 100% different. reported, nothing happens, they remain. I am beginning to think that they do this on purpose to kill the brand and elevate the carsales network...
Would not use again, scammed! – Would not recommend quicksales. Seller closed their account after the sale. Good communication up until the sale, now zero. Used Paypal so have already escalated to a claim. Thank goodness for Paypal. Would never ever use any site for online purchases without paypal.

I was scammed! – The website seems to work well when you buy something but the item I bought wasn't deliver and the whole process of chasing where to complain it's very hard! Not happy!
Steer well clear of this site – I bought a pair of boots more than two weeks ago. I still haven't received them. They were paid immediately. Postage was supposed to be 24 hours after payment. Have sent two emails without a response. Am unable to find a phone number. Look like scammers to me! June 29th 2016 Update: This is a follow up from my review on 17/06/2016. Since that… Read more
review, I have sent Quicksales numorous emails, without any response from them. It looks as though that $105 l spent on those boots is gone. I urge you to steer well clear of this company. Use EBay. Much safer!
Absolutely Terrible Service and No Help – I tried to sell something and when I go to the end it said I was not registered so I tried to register but it said I was already registered and to resend activation email. I did this but never received the email. During this process it asked for my credit card for a front page listing and it charged my card but did not list it because it said my… Read more
email was not activated however I cannot resent the activation email because now it says I am activated but it will not let me log in. To make matter worse there is not telephone support so I cannot ask for a refund. I have send an email to support but guess what no reply. I would not trust these guys as far as I could through them they hide behind the internet and have no regard for the customer.
Not trustworthy – I purchase a featured ad for $10 and it never ever appeared on the front page. All efforts to get a refund went to all sorts of gobbledygook. This feature apparently only appears occasionally so I deleted all my ads and will never use them again. They don't care about people only money. Terry
this site should be ban – This site is totally crapped, doggy, with fake sellers and owner itself also may involved with this doggy game. Email is the only way you have to contact, and if you mail them in email you can get all bullsh..t replies. do not trust this site at all.
would never use this site again to try and sell items – I tried to sell some couches on this site as I needed to move house quickly. I received an enquiry about the couches but had no way of responding to the enquirer. Was extremely frustrating as I wanted to get rid of them quickly. There was no phone number to ring and no way of trying to contact someone to ask how to get in touch with the person… Read more
who enquired. When I looked it up I found lots of people have had similar complaints. Suffice to say I will never use this site again to sell things, and wouldn't rely on it to buy things either! I'll stick with gumtree, at least I know the site works!!!
Not worth the effort – I signed up mostly to sell a few items but wouldn't bother again, simply due to the lack of item views. I had a couple of items on there for a couple weeks or so & the views on each item were in single figures. After listing the same items on a 'bigger' auction site, I received dozens of views on each item & sold them at a good price. I know Quicksales is free, but that's not much good if your stuff doesn't sell.
Outlet For Fraudsters - Buyers Beware – Found multiple interesting items here but when I enquired found them to be dodgy. False phone numbers, descriptions don't match photos, photos copied from other websites, sellers insisting I communicate privately. Quicksales do a terrible job of filtering out fraudsters, & a worse job of protecting buyers. Give Quicksales a very wide berth.
Too many fraudsters – Was looking for tea cup Maltese pups and all adds are a fraud please fix this all had different locations but replays all ended up in different state than was written in add and all worded similar just after freight costs

Has not generated 1 miserable sale for me – I've ditched this site, sure I wanted an alternative to Ebay's rising seller fees. Not a single query for my items, note, not a single query, we are not talking sales here, just expressions of interest. I list stuff on QS and they remain unsold for months if not years! I place them on EBay and sell them within 1-2 weeks the most by 2 months. I… Read more
would rather pay seller fees and get my goods out of the place than save in fees but keep my stuff forever! As an avid online buyer, I would go first to EBay for the best choices, and most competitive prices by sellers who want to sell. Therefore I'm not surprised others do the same and my items on QS don't get much hits. The 2nd choice is always Gumtree because that's where private sellers want to dispose of unwanted gifts. Sorry to say, I wish QS did more for me and I could give it a great feedback but it' s disappointing. I also worry about the seller and buyer protection policies. There is really no recourse, as a seller and buyer, EBay has never failed me where disputes occur and for that reason I feel they deserve the fees they get. You hate the fees but when you really need their services, you are so grateful it can be resolved quickly. To me it's akin to taking up insurance!
The worst place to buy things from – Last Monday afternoon I purchased an Apple iPhone 6 Plus Gold 64GB from Bunnyboo26 for $365 so the next morning the seller told me that they shipped the item to me but I haven't received the phone as of yet because I can't track it because the tracking number they gave me isn't long enough also they haven't given me the original Australia Post receipt. I would recommend using eBay or Gumtree from now on.
Scared to know that it has been brought by CarSales.com – CarSales.com has turned from an excellent service provider to a just money grabbing company and after learning that Quicksales has been gobbled by CarSales.com I am scared now tat Quicksales might turned he same .
Beware if you have funds in your account and you want to close your account – They don't allow withdrawal of funds from your account. As I haven't used their online services for a number of years, and have no intention of using their services in the future, I wish to close my account with them, but they do not refund any balances left in your account.
Only want to close my account....why is it so hard??? – Recently I stumbled across quicksales not realising they were the previous Oztion site (which were hopeless too), anyway I listed an item for sale with not ONE enquiry but when it sold via Gumtree I have been trying to delete that ad for almost a month. Every week the email notification stating views etc arrives and every time I've logged into… Read more
the site to delete my ad and every time it finishes with a confirmation screen 'but' the ad has remained. Finally yesterday I decided to email the support team for help and after several emails back and forth, the ad has been deleted but they won't/can't close my account. Was going to let this slide but have decided there is NO WAY I want that account to remain open due to the possibility of scams etc, but now starting to suspect I've been in contact with scammers as the account is still not closed even though they repeatedly advise to the contrary.
There is NO option in any menu (that I can find) where you can close your account, if anyone knows please reply here, this is super frustrating and I won't be replying to anymore of their emails as there is definitely something fishy going on because the emails keep telling me the account is closed....but....I can still log in!!
As some of the other reviews here, I am not affiliated with quicksales just wish I had NEVER found the site as now I can't cancel my account and starting to suspect I've been 'talking' to scammers.
Waste of time – This is the first and last time I will used quicksales.I purchased a item paid for it with paypal. Still waiting for the item one month later, Quicksales keep giving me the run around. What a waste of time...
Beyond Bad – I first started using quicksales way back in 2008 and I must say was one of my favorite auction sites. I did really well there selling over a 1000 + items. I actually found this site much better than ebay. I also found it great to shop as well. I dont know what's happened to this site over the past 2 years but I'm finding it extremely hard to… Read more
sell on here even with the free listing and selling fees. I now use ebay and even with their over the top selling fees at least I can sell something on there than quicksales!!
Quicksales is free - And generally easy to use for private item sales – OK - I gave them an extra star as they are not Ebay (normally would be 4 stars). After you have set up an account, listing an item for sale is relatively easy. The website is a little basic, and is missing a few very useful features (i.e. past sales history), however they are free and the website works. If you sell on FeeBay, just copy and… Read more
past your listings to Quicksales and reduce the price by 5-10% (as they do not charge any fees). As a seller, if you want there to be an alternative to Feebay then you will have to give a little to the buyer as well. Encourage them to migrate to Quicksales. Quicksales might never take off, but as long as it is there, it will keep FeeBay in check. If you start to see regular sales on Quicksales, consider supporting them by opening an account (though admittedly, I am still waiting for a sale).
Lastly, if you buy online then consider buying on Quicksales. You still get Paypal protection (if you want it) and you can negotiate a better price as sellers do not have to worry about extortionate fees. Free, easy to use and working private trading website. Slow sales, logos placed on your pictures and missing some very useful website features.
I think Quicksales should be promoted as it is completely free unlike eBay – Quicksales has been around for a while yet few people know about it. It's free to list, relist, edit, and there's no final value fee unlike eBay which is now going to take a FVF out of postage as well as actual prices! Since I only charge what Australia Post charges, this is a rip off. Quicksales can be slow at times and then it has bursts of… Read more
activity. I have sold nearly 3000 items on there since 2006. Fast, friendly customer service and completely free fee, easy to list and re list Site can be slow for sellers but great bargains are to be had for buyers as there's no bidding wars
Free but slow – I just sold my item on the site after 3 months so it is quite slow to sell. However I am quite pleased to finally get rid of my item! I read some bad reviews about gumtree so that's why I chose to sell on quicksales. Will try again if I have something to sell. Free Slow to sell
Terrible experience, seller took my money and never even responded – Purchased and paid for item on Quicksales (seller Top Sales Australia, or strengthtek). Item was never delivered. Quicksales does not even allow users to leave negative feedback in order to inform other potential buyers of unsafe sellers without the buyer becoming credit card, address or photo ID verified. By doing this, they are protecting scammers at the expense of genuine buyers. Not reliable Protects scammers
This worked so well – I recently purchased a "Fine Book" through Quicksales and I couldn't be more pleased. The negotiations were done in a reasonable time frame and the product arrived in a very short space of time.I cannot praise the seller enough. I am more than pleased with the book and they obviously wrapped it with great care. I am happy to purchase though Quicksales again and the same applies to the seller. Reliable and efficent
A lot of neg comments here – but, I've never had any issues as a seller or buyer. It's been simpler to use than ebay, and boy do ebay need a competitor!
