Seems very comfortable and light and flexible. Easy to make the bed compared to my previous mattress which was so heavy to lift. Still I might add another layer to this setup at a later date to increase the height. Show 3 replies

swap to a medium, which I can for free in the 100 day trail period. Very happy with the company, apart from communication, which is very important and I hope will improve in the future. Communication was far better with both koala and sleeping duck.
Absolutely love our three new organic latex mattresses and organic cotton sheets from a local company. It’s so reassuring knowing my grandkids are sleeping on comfortable, non-toxic latex mattresses. Highly recommend! Show details · 1

Quokka Beds were very reasonably priced; always very helpful; and delivered excellent customer service. (I also bought one of their superb latex pillows).

soon as we tried it, so I was initially hopeful but the first 3 nights on the Quokka I couldn't bear to stay in bed my back was in so much pain, and I moved to the couch. The following 3 nights I persisted staying on the mattress, thinking maybe I just wasn't used to it, but on the morning after the 6th night I felt a distinct feeling of sagging and so I shuffled to the centre of the bed and found that there was already a ridge formed in the middle of the mattress - I shuffled across and UP. The latex did not recover when I moved back to the side - I moved back down into a dip. My partners side was sagging even more than my side, and he is longer and leaner than me, so it didn't make any sense that the sagging was from our body indentations. We measured the sag at about 1cm but after about 3 or 4 more days, we measured sagging on one side of our mattress was 1.7cm, the other side was about 1.4cm. This is only 3mm short of the warranty which is supposed to last 20 years, so I'm completely confused about how this could happen. I could only guess that this was a manufacturing defect and the sagging had been present from the beginning, why else would a latex mattress that is supposed to last 20 years be so closed to reaching a warranty claim after only 1 week?! But that said, it didn't make sense that the sag could have existed from the beginning because it got worse over just a few extra days. We contacted Quokka and they seemed even more confused than us. We sent them pictures of the sagging with the mattress assembled on the flat hardwood floor (to be sure our bed frame wasn't the problem) - the sagging was measuring exactly the same on the floor, and I even tried sleeping on it on the floor for 2 nights with the same discomfort. Quokka offered to send out a replacement layer if we could identify the problem layer in the 3 layer medium mattress, but all 3 layers were affected by sagging to some degree. This baffled us even more, because if it was a manufacturing defect, what were the chances that we would receive 3 layers of latex with this problem but the staff at Quokka claimed to have never seen this before in latex?? So baffling. The staff we communicated with seemed convinced the problem must have been our bed base - but as I've said, we tried it on a hardwood floor with the same result, and the latex should have recovered it's shape immediately, so it can't have been our base. Of course we sent the mattress back for a refund, which the company agreed to readily, but the return process of re-packaging the mattress was a real pain. I asked, but they never got back to me to tell me what they thought was wrong with the mattress, which I really wanted to know because I'd love to try a different latex mattress again but am now a bit concerned that it's a way over-hyped product....A couple of other things I didn't like about it were the smell, which persisted for the few weeks we had it while waiting for the return packaging. It also wasn't great for partner disturbance - sometimes I felt like I was lying on a giant wobbly panna cotta when my partner turned over. Pocket Coil innersprings are far better for reducing partner disturbance in my experience. These things would not have been deal-breakers if the mattress was comfortable, but Alas. So, it was a disappointing, frustrating and painful experience for me with the Quokka mattress.

to purchase online again, however as Quokka offer both a free comfort swap during the trial period and also return I thought I would give it another try. I also used ChatGPT which was quite insightful, when I put in the specs of the other mattress and asked if it was designed well, it actually said the design was poor in areas and highlighted the exact issues that I experienced. The original purchase was for my mother and in both our cases it seems like it was a double layer of micro coils creating pressure points. As I swapped my mattress for the purchased one, I was again in the dreaded position of mattress shopping but at least this time I had a better understanding of what would and wouldn’t suit me. With that in mind I decided on an all Latex Mattress and I couldn’t be happier with my choice. The mattress is so comfortable and there are no pressure points at all! Latex also doesn’t have the dead/unresponsive feeling of other foams and there has been no heat retention that I can detect so far. I also like that it comes in layers which means if I need to move the mattress it will be much easier than trying to move something that looks and feels like a 50kg slab of panna cotta. It’s still early days and my lower back pain that started with the previous mattress is subsiding so I think I have the firmness ok but if not I have peace of mind that during the trial I can swap a medium layer for firm if need be. The only regret that I have is that I didn’t purchase this mattress years ago.
Follow-up · I trusted the process again as the company offers a free layer adjustment and return if not satisfied. I did end up swapping a medium layer to a firm layer and the process was easy. mattress because I wanted a durable mattress that doesn’t sag over time like the traditional box springs. The individual latex mattresses appear to be high quality. However what lets this whole system down is the cover that holds everything together. The top of the cover feels like a very stiff, thick canvas type material. The problem here is that you lose the benefit of the high quality, comfortable latex mattresses. I tried the mattresses without the cover zipped up and just a sheet over the top and it is phenomenal. On a positive note, Quokka reached out to me to see how everything was and appeared to be genuinely interested in my feedback. They claim that the cover is designed to increase the durability so you can get up to 20 years out of the mattress. My personal opinion is that they went too far on the durability side and sacrificed comfort. If you go into any mattress store and try a mattress for around the $2k mark you get a nice comfortable mattress. Compare that to this system that in comparison feels like a cheap blow up camping mattress. There is no comparison. Out of the box without a topper I was disappointed which is why I don’t understand how they are getting such a high rating. Having said that, I bought a 5cm latex mattress topper from Amazon for $165 that I am extremely happy with. I have now got the comfort that I was looking for and have the benefit of the durability and firm base that the latex mattresses provide. They do sell a 5cm latex mattress topper for $450. A mattress topper is a must with this setup. I didn’t buy theirs so I can’t comment on that. Bottom line: I am happy with my purchase now that I have a 3rd party latex topper. I wouldn’t pay full price for this system. Wait until it is on sale. If you buy the mattresses full price $2600 you need to add the topper $450 and then you are over $3k. What they should have done is tied their mattress topper into the cover in lieu of the stiff, thick canvas like material. I doubt that will ever happen because it would eat into their margins because they wouldn’t be able to upsell the topper for an extra $450. There is also no incentive for them to do this whilst they continue to get high ratings. That’s my 2cents for what it is worth. I don’t generally leave reviews but was compelled to in this case because I purchased based off the reviews which don’t appear to line up with reality.

Relieved that we have completed the purchase, transport and assembly, and comfortable at last – Two long singles are lighter than one king for assembly, turning and moving. I loved that each of us can have a different hardness. Time consuming, but physically quite simple to assemble the three layers in the cover. the dual cab Hilux and one roll strapped in the tray. Comfortable from the first night. My upper back pain has basically gone because it is well supported, compared to our old foam mattress. Sleep quality is the same but I am much more comfortable and evenly-supported all over. No pressure spots. No sagging. Just like the latex mattress I had all though my childhood. Good memories! The warranty is way better than any inner spring mattress. Buying a new kingsize mattress is a major project when you live outside the city. I will basically never have to replace it again. Phewww!

calling them to discuss all aspects of the mattress, we decided to try it. Long story short, we love our mattress! It came quickly and was easy to put together. We both love going to bed and keep saying "this mattress is so comfortable" I'm sure it has improved our sleep quality, which is so, so important to us. The firmness is perfect and at the same time it feels supportive, but comfortable and soft. My husband has broad shoulders (a side sleeper) and we needed a mattress with enough give, but good support. So far, very happy with our mattress. Hope this review helps someone else :)

I absolutely love getting into bed every night and waking up after a supported sleep on my mattress. I have back issues and would feel the effects of any small sag. I have had my mattress 2 years now and it still looks and feels new. My girlfriend at the time sleeps very warm and had read bad things about latex or "foam" mattresses being too hot. I got two medium layers and a firm layer. I love the flexibility the layers provide. They’re a bit annoying to stack and handle, but is easy enough with two people and only needs to be done once. Mattress is good quality and relatively easy to put together. It was a little firmer than expected but Quokka customer service was incredibly supportive and provided a topper which has been sensational. Getting a much better rest than I have been for some time. Outstanding! – Outstanding company. I ordered the firm option and had to change to the medium firm and the staff at Quokka made it happen without a hitch. Has changed my sleep for the better – So impressed with the quality and comfort of our king latex mattress. Since sleeping on this, I no longer wake during the night sweating because the mattress maintains a neutral temperature. I don't wake with aching along my spine or lower back, no matter if I sleep on my back or side. This has made a very significant improvement to the quality of my sleep and rest.
