Absolutely disgusting the way RAC treat people. They installed an incorrect battery in our RAV 4 hybrid. cold cranking amps, reserve capacity, and amp-hour rating compared to the correct specification. This indicates that the battery provided was not equivalent to, and in fact significantly inferior to, the original battery. Had we been made aware that the battery did not meet the required specifications, we would not have proceeded with the installation. We obtained and installed the correct battery from Toyota four days ago, and since then we have experienced no starting issues. In contrast, with the RAC-supplied battery, the vehicle required jump-starting every night for four consecutive days prior to replacement.

But they have said it's compatible. Absolutely crazy Les Warner was so disrespectful and he should be sacked.

devastating and upsetting to me that I was in tears. The attitude of the staff over the phone has been so rude and deplorable. I’m so mad at these grubs for what they have (haven’t) done and how they have treated me. PLEASE AVOID RAC AT ALL COSTS!!

I have applied for a International Licence again and was asked what the travel dates were as part of the application yet received it with a 12 mth expiry from date of application? Blatant rip off! So now I've paid for a 10mth licence instead of 12 mths. Why even bother asking the question when it suggests the 12mth issue would apply and be activated from travel date!? Jokers! Show details

Extreme excess cost – In our hour of need, we realised the true cost of RAC. The true km’s covered are from the tow depot to your location, then the tow to your home, then the distance back to the tow depot. Despite cover, the excess for this was $1080, taking advantage of our situation. I will not be renewing my cover next month. Show details

Cancelled my policy without communication – Cancelled my policy - no communication. Said there was no policy to claim on shortly after. Had elected email for communication and they advised they didn't need to do this and posted instead. Could not even prove they had posted information. Show details

Autoshop – Asked for a quote on replacing a transmission via email all I got was no price just one comment refer to transmission specialist but no referral to any specialist. I found it quite rude it shows even though you are a RAC member they don’t want to help you. Very disappointed Show details

Genuinely terrible service – Hit a roo in my car in mid November. After 4 months, during which their ‘trusted’ smash repair centre ordered the wrong parts and weren’t truthful/reliable in their communication, my car was finally given back to me on the 13th of March. then drove to the centre only to be told that they hadn’t done the check yet and was made to wait 15 minutes for the bloke to get off the phone and go out to do his ‘quality assurance’ check, which involved him shining his phone flash light under the car for 10 seconds and saying “yep should be good”. Upon driving off onto the freeway, my car started making a clear tinny rattling noise from the ‘repaired’ location and when turning around round abouts my car made a high pitched screeching, again from the ‘repaired’ location. It is now waiting to be towed back to another repair centre where I’m sure it will receive the same tender love and care RAC have provided so far. Thanks for all your help RAC.

Waste of time and energy – Please stay away from this bunch. Went in for a personal loan actually, not insurance (there is no product review option) and they said one thing at the counter and then phones me and said they cannot help me. Terrible Customer Service – Was involved in an accident with someone insured by RAC where I was at fault, as a pensioner I cannot afford insurance so was looking to arrange payment plan with them for debt. I made over a dozen attempts to contact them by phone and email for this, the only response I got was a call where they rang and hung up after one ring followed by a… Read more

letter to call them, which I did only to be unable to through so sent email response asking for a call back which was followed by a text from them saying to call them. The following day I got a letter from them saying I had failed to make contact with them and they where threatening legal action for the debt. Only after this was I able to get through to a very rude individual saying it was not up to them to make contact with me. I was told they will send it through to debt collectors as they only handle lump sum repayments, something had they called 2 months ago could of been handled then. Utterly bizarre someone is trying to make arrangements to pay them money and they refuse to make contact to allow it, instead threaten legal action built around there own lack of communication. Just letting people know how poor they are all around. I hope the other people involved got sorted out and weren't waiting. Absolutely disgusted with their behaviour for something that should have been sorted out months ago.

RAC is a Circus – I have been a member of NRMA and RACV since 1983 and was a GOLD member. Moved to Perth in 2008 and thats when the Circus began. Gave me multiple Blue Member cards and upped the premium for vehicles declining in value. No point being a loyal customer. RAC is a JOKE ! Show details
