this drive is larger and more solid than the one shipped with my Swann DVR, and purposefully built by Western Digital. I'm guessing I won't get any crashes anymore from reading previous reviews. I did a disc format initialization and reboot before checking on the recordings. Website experience was good also, chat support was offered during account set-up and checkout, but not needed personally.

Plus, 3 years warranty to boot! Warranty label info and invoice provided, as well via the online account. All in all, a good experience, so I gave them 5stars. Happy to purchase from an Australian company with quality products. AAA+++ recommended Australian supplier, will buy again.

PS, If you can see the photo I uploaded; the size of the old 500Gig HDD removed from an 8 channel Swann DVR unit (although I bought cheap on special) compared with the packet size of the WD Purple drive showing warranty information. Moral of story: Cheap units are good to start while you buy components for a better system depending on the requirements/your needs.

Ram City say they can’t get hold of their warehouse manager, which turns out to be another supplier somewhere in Australia, as it transpires Ram City don’t hold the stock, but are drop shippers. No accountability from Ram City, just blaming DHL and their warehouse manager!

Keep harping on about 10 day delivery window – from their website “This means if you order before 2pm (Australian Eastern Standard Time, Mon-Fri, excluding public holidays), we can ship your order on the same day and get it to you as soon as possible! “ – 9 Days after placing my order nothing.

Excellent service and customer support – Ramcity staff are very helpful and very knowledgeable. They've got lots of things in stock if you're gonna build or upgrade your computer. its been shipped through "Couriers Please"? Have you seen the reviews on here and online regarding them? But that's not the point why give me delivery options only to send by anyone they like? I email asking nicely why they have done this and if "Couriers Please" are faster in delivery as being Friday I wanted my order by Saturday as its a birthday present for my child.

Couriers Please has on their website same day delivery option I thought maybe they did this. The reply;

"The graphics card stock wasn't held at our Eagle Farm warehouse, so we had to ship it directly from our supplier, who only use couriers for their shipping"

Fair enough it is not at their Eagle Farm dispatch but at a suppliers? In stock to me means in stop not at a different organization and the option for AustPost knowing this should be removed for that item as it's not an option.

I can't stand having my choices taken from me by misleading advertising. At the least when confirming the order they should note it will be shipped by a third party supplier due to 'blah.. 'blah... instead of giving me the illusion that they had the product.

And the icing on the cake is the rest of the reply which is just rubbish that:

"None of the delivery methods we offer including Couriers Please" (who are not even listed on their website as a delivery choice!)... "allow for weekend deliveries!" And "Couriers Please delivery should be faster than the Australian Post (2-3 business days)"

I have had every single AustPost Express Delivery from the internet delivered Next Day and on Saturdays so this is a blatant lie! I will not recommend any service that will take people's choices away from them.

That they can not Notify of changes and or inaccuracies, say they have something that they don't only to falsely inform you that AustPost Express do not deliver on a Saturday plus their "Supplier" only uses couriers! Just dodgy business practices to secure the order at any cost, "screw" the customer right?

What can i say.... PERFECT – I bought the new crucial mx500 1tb ssd and I must admit it is amazingly fast. Boot time is only a few seconds now, loading programs are super fast. Absolutely superb.

Whats worse, the new product sent out got lost in the mail after going through a mail-redirection at AusPost. RamCity didn't even hesitate to send a replacement product out (which was not a cheap item).

With just my 'word' to go on Rod listened and accepted what I was saying and didn't just blow me off and shut down the situation. I can't recommend them enough. I am now a lifetime customer even if I find a cheaper product.

It was on my doorstep (ex Brisbane) at 9.00am the next day!! And yes it was 100% compatible.
