frequently left until last to be looked at and I was advised on multiple occasions that it needed to stay overnight, which was extremely inconvenient as a mother with a young child. What made it more frustrating was that after all the time and money spent, the problems were still not resolved.

As a single mum, this situation was incredibly stressful and financially damaging. I trusted this business to be honest, transparent and fair, but unfortunately that was not my experience.

After spending thousands of dollars without a proper resolution, I feel very disappointed with the service I received. I strongly recommend that others seek a second opinion before agreeing to repairs here.

For comparison, I later took my car to Goodyear Auto & Tyres in Epping and they were able to identify and fix the problems within the same day

me out and pointed out several A4 signs stating “Unauthorised persons keep out,” which, to be fair, were present. The main issue here is not the signage, but the poor customer service. His response was unnecessarily aggressive and could have been handled in a much more polite and professional manner. I’m sure I’m not the first customer to accidentally walk through the workshop. I would have completely understood if he had calmly explained that it was for safety reasons, but instead he said, “Do you know how much insurance we have to pay if you get hurt?” He also used profanity at one point. Being sworn at as a customer is completely unacceptable. I'm giving one star because this dude Bryan who worked on my car was actually nice and very competent.

strongly dispute and could not verify.

Recently replaced front brakes (new rotors and pads) were failed due to “shudder”. I have never experienced any shudder, nor did a second independent mechanic after inspection and test driving.

A ball joint was failed due to a “torn boot”, despite the joint being tight with zero movement and no visible hole, grease leak, or witness marks. Other suspension components that were professionally replaced in recent times were also failed despite no detectable play or wear.

They also claimed a power steering oil leak. When I asked where the leak was coming from, I was told it would cost a minimum of $87.50 just to identify it. They also failed one of the taillights that has a tiny crack on the inside that doesn't let in any water or dirt and doesn't affect the light in any way whatsoever.

Throughout the process, I was repeatedly offered the opportunity for them to carry out the repairs at what I consider inflated prices, which I declined.

I am a man in my mid-50s with solid mechanical knowledge and decades of experience dealing with RWCs for myself and family members. This is by far the worst RWC experience I have had. I will not be returning and strongly advise others to seek a second opinion before committing to any repairs suggested here.

clarity. Firstly, I asked if certain parts (ie air and cabin filters) were fully inspected and cleaned before deemed unserviceable and subsequently needing replacement; but was never given any response to these. The first occasion was simply replied back with an updated automated quote sheet - amending one glaringly obvious incorrect part price (from $155 to $38) and that was it. On that note, nearly every mechanic I've quoted at least offered and mentioned 'inspection and cleaning', but RT dont and just simply replace the parts by default. Second time I asked, again no response - timely and or otherwise.

Secondly, as part of the repeat 90K service schedule, the inline fuel filter replacement was definitely not listed - yet is an inherent requirement from Ford. I also uploaded a screenshot of this from another mechanic as evidence. In addition, two other mechanics verified this as part of their servicing policy as well.

Unfortunately responses from RT have overall been rather derelict; As a result, I will not be approaching them any further, and felt quite dismayed by their overall inconsistencies and evasiveness.

most local mechanics can do a simple service for less than $250. When I checked I found that my payment had gone to a 'Aztec Solutions Pty Ltd' and not to Rapid Tune. On checking the card I found that Aztec SOLUTIONS Pty Ltd is NOT mentioned on the card. Instead the name Aztec DIRECT Pty Ltd is printed prominently on the card. An ASIC check shows that there is no company called Aztec Direct Pty Ltd. If you've been scammed check your card. It might be that you too have paid money to a company that is not registered with ASIC. I've now notified my bank that the party that took my money was not Rapid Tune and I could not have agreed to pay Aztec Solutions Pty Ltd as nothing in the documents mentioned that particular company.

The vehicle only required a minor part to pass the RWC and this was sourced and the work carried out swiftly and very competently. Roadworthy stitch up!! – Needed a roadworthy to sell my car. A quote from Rapid Tune Mitcham of $3300 in so called repairs !! Took it for a second opinion and got a roadworthy for $600 and that included the fee for the roadworthy certificate. My car had been full serviced 3 months before. So glad I shopped around. Absolute stitch up.

Rapid Tune Langwarrin team wrong diagnosis story – This shop wrongly diagnosed my car with engine overheating issue. That would cost me a fortune to fix it 1.7k+ Firstly, they asked me to change coolant tank because the coolant tank had hidden crack on the bottom. I was waiting about two weeks to get the right coolant tank, because they didn't check the type of my old coolant tank and ordered… Read more

wrong one. When the good coolant tank come, they asked young guy to put it on. The nightmare began. He pulled the small tube rudely which connect to the tank and broken the head of the tube and lost one O ring . Then he put on new coolant tank and used one crap O ling . When I drived to home the engine overheating and the coolant sprayed out from coolant tank because of the crap O ling. So l had to back to Rapid Tune . They can not fix it and advise me go Harvey Wreckers to find similar one. Ok , I have no choice , I need the car. Luckily I fund the same Oring and put it on. So no leaking from coolant tank anymore. But my car still overheating. Then they checked and tell me there some coolant under big coolant horses which connect to engine, they said it was cracked need replace. So they need order one in and replace it in following week. I knew it will cost lots of money. I felt very upset and start to learn why the Ford focus engine overheating from YouTube. Finally I fund where was the coolant leaking from, the coolant temperature sensor! The O ring on the sensor was too old. So I replaced the Oring and the car coolant system no more leaking. But engine overheating problem still happen when after 20mins driving. That drive me crazy! The Rapid tune said maybe the thermostat course the problem. After they replaced the thermostat. The engine still overheating. They cannot find real reason and advised me to replace the coolant pump and radiator that would cost $1200. There would about $1700 to fix up the engine overheating problem. At that moment I lost my trust. My friend recommended me to go Winifred Service Centre. The machinic only used 10mins to check my car. He said there was air pocket in the coolant system and fixed it in one minute. The gentleman was very friendly and did not charge me any coins. That moment I feel he rescued me from the nightmare. I tested the old thermostat, it's in good condition, I had paid about $250 for Rapid Tune wrong diagnosis.

The long story told us, The Rapid Tune didn't have any experienced workers, there are some young people of appreciation or learner. They don't have enough experience to diagnose what reason course the car problems. They only to do is replace the parts maybe cause the problems, even replace whole the system. If you only let them service your car by changing oil and filter or change windscreen wiper, Rapid Tune is still ok. But if your car has problems I highly not recommend. Because the small car problems will be your big problems with Rapid Tune. And you must ask how much will cost before your make decisions. Maybe check YouTube or ask another mechanic and it will give you big help.

Vehicle repairs – I have been utilizing Rapid Tune Chadstone for a long time. Kevin is very knowledgeable and kept my BMW x5 in good running order. Store Manage Alyx Elias communication and the follow up ahs been very helpful and mechanically minded. Great that she finally have that TV turn on and the reception is clean at all times. Show reply

Bad service, never come back – Rapid tune Derrimut have gave me a year guaranty for the air conditioning system that they have fixed, but it broken after 3 months. I went back so they can fix what went wrong. They wanted to charge me the fee for the diagnosis and another $1500 to fix it.

Horrible service ever – I been with rapid tune Melton the store manager is the dishonest [Name Removed]. they damage my AMG Rim while was changing the tyres and after [Name Removed] took photos to fix it next day he deny they damage it .TOOK HIM TO THE COURT. noticed a few days later that my windscreen wipers had not been changed even though it was ticked on the work form that they had been checked. They were well beyond needing replacing that I didn't think I needed to mention it, anyway I bought new ones and replaced them myself. About 2 months after the service I noticed the car surging a little bit when I was sitting at the traffic lights with the car in Drive. I checked the manual and it suggested I check the Automatic Transmission Fluid which I did and it was only just registering on the dipstick. I topped up the fluid and the problem was fixed straight away. I wont be going back to Rapid Tune Chadstone in Victoria again.

look terrible. He said he never uses black weights and can’t get them even if he wanted. So I googled a tyre shop 100metres up the road and bought a couple of black weights from them and took it to these guys so they can use them instead. Never heard of a tyre changing shop not using black weights on black rims, or not having any black weights in the first place. His reason was “we are a mechanic not a tyre shop”. * after arriving home I discovered they damaged the centre edge of the wheels… in exactly the same spot on both wheels. I hand wash my car myself for the last 4 years myself so I know new damage when I see it. If I make a claim they’ll just deny it.

Bottom line is I would steer clear of these guys if you love your wheels. It’s a shame because they seem like nice enough blokes.
