We had a hot water service installed today in Newcastle by Reactive plumbing with Luke being the plumber. He did a excellent job Number N5005 Mount Hutton. I would have no problem recommending the company to any potential users.

Had water leaking in laundry sink cabinet. Previous plumbing was a nightmare . Cameron Castle was plumber from Reactive Plumbing job no: 121020277. I now have a tidier plumbing, better organised and more space in cabinet. Very happy with work performed and actually running a load of washing now. Recommend Reactive Plumbing called Tuesday, problem fixed Friday. Immediate fix was not necessary, was happy to wait till Friday.

Urgent water leak was quickly investigated on the weekend to identify an underground problem.. Chad Bradley coordinated the removal of concrete and the use of ultrasonics to establish the location of the leak. I was quoted $1,231 for the job. I chose the tap the plumber had available, but when I checked online, I saw it retailed for around $250. That meant the installation alone was just under $1,000. When I questioned the discrepancy, the plumber explained that the price included a 7-year replacement guarantee. I then asked what the labour component was and was told it was $400. I offered to pay $650 total to cover materials and labour. After he spoke with his boss, we agreed on $850, noting that this meant I would not receive the 7-year guarantee.
While the service itself was excellent, I feel it’s important for others to check pricing carefully and challenge it where needed, as the guarantee seemed to add a significant markup despite Australia already having strong consumer protection laws.
Additionally, during the visit, I was given a quote for replacing my hot water system that was roughly double what I could source elsewhere — again justified on the basis of the 7-year guarantee.
I strongly recommend avoiding Reactive Plumbing. They severely overcharge for simple jobs and rely on inflated labour fees to make money. I was charged hundreds of dollars to replace a small part under my kitchen sink that costs less than $10 at Bunnings, and the “repair” actually made the leak worse. it under warranty, claiming the leak was coming from a different part. The original plumber should have replaced this part but failed to identify it as essential. I ended up buying the correct part myself for $25 at Bunnings and still had to pay several hundred dollars for them to install it.
Booking was quick and effortless, and the plumber who attended was polite and professional. However, the company’s pricing structure is unreasonable and takes advantage of customers.

Professional, neat and polite plumber by the name of Khaine came to our home today to do what we thought was a simple drain problem. Turned out to be bigger. Khaine didn’t hesitate and offered problem solver. ‘Smelly’ job but he jumped straight in. Will be using this company again and hopefully Khaine can be the plumber.
